That would be funny -
I don't have a bad word to say about AmD. Yes, they are pricey at times, but the service (for me) has always been excellent.

Air filter and remap advice suggestions
Gareth_1.8T replied to VRS 473's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk I (1999-2007)
any reputable tuner will be able to offer you a suitable map. It seems that different forums favour different tuners. I went to P-Torque near wolverhampton for my map. Very good service and no problems in 15months since. RR'd 179.8bhp and 300lbs/ft at P-Torque, then a fortnight later ran 185.1bhp and 300lbs/ft at AmD. -
Details seem sketchy at best at the mo. I guess we'll find out when someone goes for an MOT on new years day

A few coats will be fine. You're a bit more handy than me, but I found that the paint runs a fair bit (even when applied lightly), so needed a little monitoring as it was intially drying I fitted the Octy hoses when I fitted mine - as you say, makes maintenance a tad easier. IIRC Frigerpants was selling some longer TT hoses on here a while back for £10ish

Vw blue tinted mirror glass (FITTING GUIDE)
Gareth_1.8T replied to Scott Howie's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk I (1999-2007)
Thats what I said when I put them on my car about 9 months ago - they were fine in the winter months even without the heater element... -
Darn it, I meant to say those discs are shocking, stick to the oem 288mm setup :p Kidding mate, no probs at all. I'm not actively pushing the sale of the Twists and adapters, so if you fancy them in the future, they may still be available... You have pm btw re: fluid

I got these on mine - very good, with no problems encountered Work very well with DS2500 pads for track work

Yes - what no-one seems to know or realise is that Luke is actually a professional photographer and is really darn good at it -
Nope, i've got these (in 312mm) and along with ds2500 pads and they stop rather well , no additional noises at all...

+1 same here

That's an awesome pic, but I fear a flaming could be on its way..... -
Have you checked the alloy wheel archive thread? IIRC these particular wheels do not fit over 312mm brakes (without taking a grinder to the caliper, or fitting spacers) due to a fairly high offset, so be aware of this if you ever fancy a brake upgrade...

As a previous purchaser of one of Boyler's modded SE models, I've gotta say that the quality of the work he has done is fantastic - it actually looks a lot better in the flesh than in the pics I would recommend anyone that is interested to snap one up quickly, as the WRC models (which they are based on) seem to be getting rarer on ebay.

New seal kits aren't too pricey - I've just paid £35 for 2 x 256mm kits from TPS. The potential problems with buying 2nd hand over buying the reconditioned set in the above link is the quality. You could buy 2nd hand and have a real gem, or you could buy a set where the seals have gone and the brakes look shocking! I purchased some 256mm rears a while back (that were supposidly 'ready to fit') and the seals are totally goosed. I am not a mechanic by any means, and would not want to fit my own brakes, let alone refurb a set Thankfully, a good friend is a master tech and will sort me out, but I can totally understand why people would want to purchase a fully reconditioned set. Painting is a different issue - it seems that 95% of the members on post about 'where can I buy hammerite smooth green???' at some point, whereas us SE owners take a perfectly decent set of Octavia (green) 312mm/256mm brakes and then paint over the green in red!
