  1. Most likely, take the door card off for the one which is leaking the most.... the leak is extremely obvious to spot. If dry you should still see a residue trail from the water.

Yep I'd agree, mine was obviously leaking and when I took the door card off the door carrier seal fell out so was obviously the issue.

It is a relatively easy fix. Took me no more than 1 hour for both rear doors.

  2. Thanks for all your responses. This is what I thought, I will have a look when the time comes to change later this year. I will also have to do my sums as to whether to go diesel or petrol next time as I only do about 8k miles a year.

    Thanks

  3. Hi,

I currently have a Mk1 Fabia estate which has been great. My question is, and appologies if this has been covered in other threads, what sort of space advantage is there in the rear of the Roomster compared to the Fabia? I ask only as we currently have a 2 year old daughter and although fine for one I am weighing up options for if/when second child arrives. We have found the rear legroom a little lacking for car seats etc.

Also like the idea of panoramic roof.

What sort of real MPG would a 1.4 tdi 80 get as this is what I've got in my Fab and its a great engine currently at 60k and easily does 70mpg on a run.

    Thanks,

  4. Hi,

After this lovely weather of late I have noticed a small puddle appear in my rear foot wells. Yep the door carrier leak has appeared! Having just removed the door card to check it is clear, due to the seal actually falling out, that this is the cause. I am going to attempt a fix tomorrow using the youtube video as a guide. Hopefully this will cure as the smell of damp is not nice.

Any tips on how to ensure success?

    Cheers

  5. Hi Andrew,

I have a 2006 1.4tdi Bohemia Estate and love it. The cambelt replacement intervals if they're the same for the 1.9 as the 1.4 PD are every four years or 56,000miles I think? Mine's a Dec 2006 model and has a slight issue with leaky rear door seals but I believe its and easy fix.

Having done nearly 20,000 miles in mine (now 59,000) I have had very little in the way of issues. I have just had to have the front suspension bushes replaced and from discs and pads but that's about it.

    I would certainly recommend one!

    Cheers,

    Jonno

  6. Hi,

Does anyone out there know if there is more space in the back of a Mk2 estate (ie legoom) I currently have a 2006 Mk1 Estate and am happy with it. We have a toddler and sometimes the rear seat can seem a little lacking with the car seat in place.

Has the Mk 2 got a longer wheelbase? I have the Bohemia special ed which has the vrs from seats so it maybe that they are bigger than standard items.

    Cheers,

    Jonno

  7. Hi,

Although I've been on here for a while I haven't really introduced myself.

I have a 56 Reg Mk1 Fabia 1.4tdi Bohemia Estate and it is one of the best cars I've owned. Had it for 2.5years now and has done 20,000 trouble free miles since I got it. Currently live in Bristol and think this is a really helpful site and its good to be on here!

    Cheers,

    Jonno

  8. Hi, I'm a relatively newbie on here an I currently have a Mk1 56 Fabia estate 1.4tdi which I am very happy with. I was wondering what, if any, would be the benefit of updating to a new Fabia Greenline II estate? I am currently averaging IRO 55-65 mpg and as diesel prices are set to only go one way I am toying with the idea of an upgrade.

Has anyone had experience of the new 1.2 tdi Greenline and how it compares to the Mk1 1.4tdi, I know its a little down on power but was wondering if there where any other downsides?

    Thanks,

    Jonno
