  1. At least I can loudly applaud the choice of colour as a fellow Leicester fan, albeit now displaced in Somerset........
  2. @shyVRS245 I am surprised. When you said trade in, I immediately thought you were going for yet more power or even taking the electric option....... Diesel is surely a retrograde step. If economy is more important than anything, a fully electric car has to be the shout if you can commute with it? Then use the Karoq for longer trips as necessary. You would also have the win/win of serious acceleration on tap with 100% torque immediately available.
  3. Newer bigger mileage over older lower mileage every time, so long as the history is solid. Go for it!!
  4. Our Shy is persistence personified! @shyVRS245 Have a good holiday old chap! Somerset is a very nice part of the world! Enjoy....
  5. Agreed. Good luck with the new car!
  6. Cheers Shy and good work on the calipers.
  7. Completely changes the look of the car on the Audi replicas. Huge rim protection on those tyres! What are they?
  8. Welcome! With my Mk 3 estate it was fine with the Pano roof. Call The Roof Specialist. Talk it through with them. They are very knowledgable and can help you with bars that will fit. No affiliation but have used them for bars, boxes and bike racks several times. https://www.roofbox.co.uk/
  9. Yep, 340 ish miles per tank sounds about right. I don’t look at miles per tank or mpg too often, but yesterday’s cruise from North Somerset to Leics. was probably as good as it will get economy wise, so thought I’d check and grab a pic. 32.7 on the way back this morning including some fun in Sport on the Somerset B roads on the last stretch. Have relatives in Newquay. Decent spot with lots of gorgeous beaches / scenery nearby. Enjoy it when you get there.
  10. Amazing what the 3.3 V6 Twin-Turbo can do when on a run. Quick trip to your neck of the woods Shy. First time I have seen my folks since December. Thankfully well outside the new Leicester lockdown zone!
  11. Hi Shy, yep roads getting busier around here again too. Have driven 3 or 4 times a week, but much less that before. Have been getting more than a week out of a tank of fuel! Have really enjoyed the empty roads! 😉 Getting the GTS detailed in the first week of July, so looking forward to that!
  12. Having owned 4 Skodas over the last 10 years, the time has come to move on. I recently swapped our Citigo for a Golf 7 1.4 TSI DSG for Mrs Dunc and, after much and very prolonged thought, I’m about to pay a deposit on a Kia Stinger 3.3 GTS to replace my much loved 2014 vRS 220 Estate with Pano and Columbus. This feels very strange. I love Skoda. I think this is the best forum out there (I’ve been on a few, mainly GTI and TVR-based) but I’m thinking I need one properly powerful petrol family car for a few years before the world all goes electric. So, if you’ll still have me, I’d be very keen to stay on here. You are the most knowledgeable crew I’ve come across. There will be an absolutely immaculate vRS for sale soon (on here and on Pistonheads probably) and I’d love to update you all on the Stinger journey and possibly give you a few Golf thoughts too. So, this is not goodbye, but rather a changing of the guard and hopefully some new info that some of you will find interesting. (Mods, please move if you deem appropriate, but this is likely to be very much Mk3 vRS vs new replacement fast family car banter) Cheers all.
