  1. At least I can loudly applaud the choice of colour as a fellow Leicester fan, albeit now displaced in Somerset........
  2. @shyVRS245 I am surprised. When you said trade in, I immediately thought you were going for yet more power or even taking the electric option....... Diesel is surely a retrograde step. If economy is more important than anything, a fully electric car has to be the shout if you can commute with it? Then use the Karoq for longer trips as necessary. You would also have the win/win of serious acceleration on tap with 100% torque immediately available.
  3. Newer bigger mileage over older lower mileage every time, so long as the history is solid. Go for it!!
  4. Our Shy is persistence personified! @shyVRS245 Have a good holiday old chap! Somerset is a very nice part of the world! Enjoy....
  5. Completely changes the look of the car on the Audi replicas. Huge rim protection on those tyres! What are they?
  6. Welcome! With my Mk 3 estate it was fine with the Pano roof. Call The Roof Specialist. Talk it through with them. They are very knowledgable and can help you with bars that will fit. No affiliation but have used them for bars, boxes and bike racks several times. https://www.roofbox.co.uk/
  7. Yep, 340 ish miles per tank sounds about right. I don’t look at miles per tank or mpg too often, but yesterday’s cruise from North Somerset to Leics. was probably as good as it will get economy wise, so thought I’d check and grab a pic. 32.7 on the way back this morning including some fun in Sport on the Somerset B roads on the last stretch. Have relatives in Newquay. Decent spot with lots of gorgeous beaches / scenery nearby. Enjoy it when you get there.
  8. Amazing what the 3.3 V6 Twin-Turbo can do when on a run. Quick trip to your neck of the woods Shy. First time I have seen my folks since December. Thankfully well outside the new Leicester lockdown zone!
  9. Hi Shy, yep roads getting busier around here again too. Have driven 3 or 4 times a week, but much less that before. Have been getting more than a week out of a tank of fuel! Have really enjoyed the empty roads! 😉 Getting the GTS detailed in the first week of July, so looking forward to that!
  10. If you take registration fee and first year’s tax off the list price and then you are below £40k, then you do not qualify for the luxury car tax. This example may help. It is for a Kia Stinger 3.3GTS which doesn’t qualify and is only £145 to tax even though it is over £40k OTR: What’s not included in 'List Price' Warranty/Insurance and service packages etc Any non-standard option fitted by the dealer Modifications such as ‘police packs’, ambulance/fire engine modifications Modifications for disabled users First registration fee and cost of first licence For the Stinger GTS the only option is Premium Paint. That list price still falls below £40K at £39,905 so ALL Stingers fall below the 40K threshold and will only cost £145 a year to tax. Retail Price £38,645 Premium Paint £665 Delivery £595 List Price £39,905 First Registration Fee £55 First year tax £1,850 On the Road Price £41,810
  11. Agreed. Calm down boys. Leave Shy to his thread. If you don’t approve or like it, look elsewhere. The car-related internet and even just Briskoda leave plenty of room for us all. Each to their own - there’s no need to break his balls every day!
  12. Agreed. Let’s live and let live guys. Life’s too short. ETTO
  13. You may have decided this already, but sounds like choosing the 245 is the best option for the family, and then you can make some modifications to help it suit your ‘wants’ as well. Good luck. The Octavia is a great all round car! I’ve had three and they served a growing family brilliantly whilst offering no little amount of fun too!
  14. My Atera Aluminium aero roofbars have just been posted in the Classifieds. Cheers guys.
  15. Ha, well, I could always post up a link to the thread?? Here you go guys: https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&t=1829074&d=0#seperator
  16. Hi John, many thanks! Hadn’t seen that! Hope all well over here? Cheers
  17. Glad you are still having fun!! Yep, we are well so far, thankfully. Hope likewise with you. Cheers.
