Wow, how weird is that! I did exactly the same thing in January! From an L&K 272 (350bhp with a Stage 1) to a Mercedes-AMG C43.

Sold mine last month. Having had 2 Octy estate petrol vRSs, an Octy Scout and a Citigo, the Superb was top of the list when needing a large family car with some go. 2018 L&K 272. Bought used approved in September 2022. It had niggles from the off. Went back to the selling dealer twice and then had several things sorted under the UAW at my local Skoda dealer. A stage 1 (c. 350bhp but felt like more) meant a great mix of pace and space, but I never gelled with the car. More niggles kept coming and the tracking / alignment never felt quite right despite multiple attempts to fix it. Eventually lost patience and it had to go. I bought my first Skoda new in 2010. Petrol vRS DSG estate. Kept it for 7 years and 90k miles. It was bulletproof. I think their standards have dropped considerably since, especially around build quality. Shame.

Just ECU. Can manage the gearbox with the modes / paddles.

Exactly where I am - 272 (now 350) L&K. I absolutely love it, and especially the fact that no-one expects it to be quick! So, why do I keep looking at Golf Mk8 R Wagons?……..

The fact that they have retained some physical buttons below the screen is a big plus. I had a Mk4 Octy vRS as a loaner and the screen-centric heating and other basic controls drove me mad.

Will depend on which petrol you buy (1.5 to 2.0 280PS) and the driving profile as to what your mpg could be. My 272 (the GPF 280) averages about 30 mpg on a mix of roads. Since mapping to 350bhp, I am at about 28mpg overall but more smiles per gallon. If babied on A roads or M’way, I can reach 40mpg, but achieving this as an average may be tough with petrol. Possible with a 1.5 I guess?…… Edited to add: Just noticed you asked about the 2.0. 190 owners will tell you what they think you can achieve. As above, with a 272 (or 280), a ~30 mpg average is likely unless you are >50% A road or motorway.

I feel for you @Vidmor I had creaking flaps on a Used Approved purchase late 2022. It was a full dash out job and cost a fair few ££££ I think. All sorted 🤞but I now have a minor creak / rattle near the front passenger door. I think from above the glovebox. (intermittent and can cope with it) Good luck getting it sorted.

Badges gone!

No doubts a Superb!!

The L&K badges on mine have gone too. They look like crappy cake decorations (as someone else said either here or on Facebook recently). The Skoda, Superb and 4x4 badges will go next. Prefer the cleaner look. Also, as I am running a remap, the more Q-car I can get, the better.

Hopefully a loose connection. Is it in warranty? If not, ask an automotive electrician to have a look? Worse case, it might need a new seat base plus motors etc. My passenger seat was making odd noises on being moved back (was fine forwards and up/down) as if the motor was on the way out, and Skoda replaced the whole seat base. Good luck.

Don, this is how the car was when I bought it last August. I think likely factory rear tints as the one previous owner was an old boy. The tints aren’t as dark as they look in that pic in reality.

Still very much enjoying this. Have some white worm on the wheels near the centre caps. Will powder coat them soon. Just trying to decide whether to go for silver or gunmetal. (previous vRS with gunmetal for reference)

The DQ381 requires an oil change at 80k miles although, if driven hard, I wouldn’t wait that long.
