  1. So really the PCP is the best option (based on values given by the dealership). Just the option to have anew car every three years is a pretty tasty option. Especially if I don't have to pay anything like tax, MOT, warranty plan and service plan..
  2. After having a few issues with my car, I have decided after 5 years, maybe I should get myself a new car. I love my skoda beyond most things, so I will probably keep with the theme and get a vRS. but the question is, do I buy, or do I lease? If I lease, I get a new car every few years. Most things are exempt in that period (MOT,Tax) Most have a service plan and a warranty that spans the life time of the loan. Do you get a trade price in against the next car? Or, do I buy it and hope I get a good trade in amount in three years? What are every ones thoughts?
  3. Shortly after I took the photos I gave it a clean. Need some more degreaser though! Oh well, box only cost £100. Thought it would have been to go to be true. never mind. Least I have a box.
  4. I have been bothering bowders with this, but thought I would leave him alone to have some peace from me ha. From the start.... Drive shaft went bang, replaced it with anew piece. Driving along a week after and I heard a bolt pop out, naughty me, I ignored it. I then went on a date on wednesday and there was an almighty bang and the car started vibrating. Took a look the next day and what had happened was the first dog done mount bolt had dropped out and the other one had sheared off. Wasn't able to get someone to help until today. To stop the vibration, I decided to take out the mount until I could have the bolt removed. (max 2 days) I did notice there was oil, but I thought it was from my sump (has a slight leak) and the dog bone mount was jacking the engine forward. Went for another day, was about to leave... crunch, wont move. Got in touch with Mark and it seems the diff has gone pop. Managed to get it home now I have to fix this. I know there are some stupid mistakes by me in there, but I thought I better explain it all, just in case there's something else I should look at as well. So I have a spare gear box which apparently has an LSD in it. Only cost me £100, so worth the punt, especially now. but I have a few concerns about it.... Diff: I can spin both it both directions with my hand easily and both ends will go together. If I hold one, I can still move the other. Is that right? First of all, drain plug, bit of corrosion Around the diff housing looks like sealant. make sense if an LSD was put in? White corrosion over the gear box. Clutch fluid or road salt? Oil on one of the couplers Clutch release bearing is a bit rusty? VIDEOS OF IT MOVING http://vid974.photobucket.com/albums/ae229/lamboluv3/VIDEO0090_zpse45a0767.mp4 http://vid974.photobucket.com/albums/ae229/lamboluv3/VIDEO0089_zps4f7b1c09.mp4 also I need a new clutch as well (makes sense) I want to do the G60 setup, but I am really struggling with parts traders. They all want to know what size it is, what engine it come off, what colour is the 3rd bolt from the left and so forth. They are struggling with idea that its a g60 clutch going on a 1.8t engine. So could someone please share all the details about it so I can get one ordered.
  5. I paid £280 all in for mine.
  6. The subframe is the same, but attached to it has the better ARB, better bushes and reinforced parts.
  7. Hi all, I have recently purchased the following for my Octy TT subframe with bushes TT cast wishbones with bushes TT quick rack TT hubs I have had them all installed for 2 days now and I have to say WOW, what a difference! I feel so much more confident in the steering, there's hardly any noise and the front end feels solid and I haven't had any wheel judder at all, which is quite amazing. I can't wait to get some new front tyres to see how it really handles! I would 100% suggest doing this upgrade! The more I drive it and experience it, I will share me finding.
  8. Just found out I need new front tyres. Guess what I will be trying. This will be annoying. I want them on the fronts, but really I should have them on the rear.
  9. Hi guys and girls, I've just upgraded to cast wishbones so I now have my Superpro wishbones up for sale. I can't remember how many miles they have covered, but I can remember they're a PITA to install, so having them all ready to go is a much better option. Yours for £40 + P&P I will accept offers.
  10. I run RS2's and I love they. Only down side was the price.
  11. My bad, thought doing that did that as well because it's putting pressure through the block.
  12. Boys and girls, I have the lower front grille for our young friend. What is considered a fair price. In perfect knick.
  13. I just don't want to kill her off prematurely. As for compression, after the pipe blew out all the water, my mate compression tested it and it held pressure?
  14. Believe the guys at Awesome GTI sell it, so they would be the people to ask for a bit of advice.
  15. I might have a spare one for that side.
  16. Bumper looks fine TBH, just get a smart repair. Trying to get hold of a good vRS bumper is bloody hard! Then you would need a full respray.
  17. The new bits have arrived and are going on Wednesday with cambelt change. So with everything currently sat on the car, I am good for stage 2 with Rtech... But she had her birthday last week, with 170k on the clock. I've looked after her well, I would like to think. Always used the best petrol, tried to be sympathetic with the cold starts and warm finishes, kept on top of the oil-ish. And up till last week when the water pipe cracked, she has been running fine. But with the miles, am I pushing it?
  18. Same sentiments as everyone else, glad you walked away ok! Just be thankful of all cars you were in the Octy. Nice big safe car. Hope everything gets sorted sharpish!
  19. Hmm, under the black trim, there is two bolts, try tightening them up first. It might just be me, but it might have had a push on that corner. Might need pulling out. Just saying because I had a light knock and my bumper looked like that. had to pull it out. Wasn't too hard.
  20. Depends how extreme you want to get really! I would say front seats and back seats out. Its a 20 min job and it gives you soooo much space! The power cable (make sure to get a heavy grade, I am running with a 0 grade cable) I have it coming off the battery, up the trunking and down through the back of the dash. It's the easiest option. Just make to reseal the gromet you ave to go through and a little bot of resealable sealant on the pollen filter box, Trust me on this! I then ran the power cable down the left hand passengers side to the boot well. The speaker and phono cables went to the right and under the steering column to the boot. Doing this keeps the interference down. My sub and amp fitted in the boot well nicely. I built a box that fitted perfectly and I used the spare wheel bolt to hold it all in place. I also dynamatted the boot (I would suggest this, also I have some going cheap ). Other than that, there's not much more to it.
  21. Hi boys and girls, I have the opportunity to buy some surplus Dynamat stock. This is the older stuff that isn't as flexible as the new stuff, but works exactly the same. My car currently has the boot and doors done and it makes a fantastic difference! I will be able to get my hands on 1 x boot kit http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/DYNAMAT-XTREME-TRUNK-KIT-EXTREME-19405-Roller-20-FT-/230643371853?pt=Car_Audio_Video&hash=item35b36a8f4d - £40 + P&P 6 x black Dynamat 12ft square (like this one)http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/DYNAMAT-DYNALINER-1-2-12-7-x-813-x-1372mm-ROLL-SOUND-INSULATOR-/370921287024?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item565ca1ad70 - £60 + P&P P.S this thread is in the sales section as well.

  23. Forget that then! Today was a bad day, the plastic junction that is near the EGR valve split open and chucked all the water! Fun times.
  24. I've just read a mk4 forum saying you need loads of bits to do it. Is it the same for the vRS?
