  1. Good to know about the rivet. Thanks. Hopefully someone can let me know about the fuse to save my neighbours' sanity!
  2. My Yeti is now 12 years old and has just started having this problem. 01134 code and alarm going off randomly. I've found this battery on fleaBay which has a photo, bizarrely, exactly the same as @FatblokeVRS posted (I've messaged you @FatblokeVRS to check why that is). I'm quite happy soldering so might give this a go before I send it to a dealer to charge me a fortune. Regarding the wheel arch cover, will I need to break anything to get enough space and if I do get access to the space where the alarm sits, is it just a nut that needs removing and the cable to be disconnected? Another question, in the short term, to avoid p1551ng off the neighbours, can I simply remove fuse 34 in the dashboard or will that cause other issues? Thanks in advance.
  3. OK, third one has gone now on the speedo side so have ordered the 5000K LEDs. Wish me luck everybody...I'm going in!
  4. What I’ll do later is take my SLR to the car at night and see what Kelvin white balance setting most closely resembles the white lighting. Should narrow it down a bit
  5. Thanks. If I do it, I might do a video or write-up
  6. I might go for the 5000K in that case. That will be slightly 'warmer' i.e. less blue. Also, bluer temperatures appear slightly brighter. I'll let you know what th result looks like if I decide to go ahead with it. Thanks again
  7. Has anyone had a go at this? I've read a guide on the Octovia forum that details it really well and because I can solder ok, I'm going to give it a go. They've linked to a part number for the SMD LEDs but have also said they aren't quite the right 'whiteness'. Just wondered if anyone had done this on a Yeti and whether the cluster was pretty much the same. The other question is, as long as the key isn't in the ignition, can I safely disconnect the wiring loom to the cluster without the immobiliser having a hissy fit?
  8. Probably going to give this a try soon but a quick q about colour temp. The rapid electronics site lists 6500K as their coolest white of the three available. Is that too blue or too yellow? Perfect write-up by the way, thanks so much
  9. Might be way off but does it come and go with the A/C? When my air-con needed a service I noticed a hiss
  10. So....turns out it was one of the front wheel bearings. They only charged for parts, after a brief "discussion" Top marks Speedsport!
  11. 'fraid so. £69 inspection fee (deducted from final cost) £145 per tyre (Michelin Primacy 225/50 17) £99 alignment and blanking of four wheels Once you take the initial inspection fee into account, Kwik-fit would have only been £17 cheaper.
  12. Very kind of you. I'll ask the garage first as they should make the effort
  13. The garage has already checked and aligned all of them
  14. Tyres all correct pressure, two of them new and the other two still have 4mm of tread. My wife feels a bit of vibration through the accelerator...I'm not so sure, or maybe not so sensitive
  15. Hi all, long time no speak. A few weeks ago I started hearing a droning noise at particular road speeds, e.g. 27mph, 40mph, 50mph in particular. It's quite loud and actually louder than the engine. A definite low drone at a particular frequency If I dip the clutch, the noise remains at the same pitch and then lowers as the road speed lowers, so I don't believe it's linked to engine speed. Citygate Skoda in Watford assured me it needed two new rear tyres as the alignment was out and they were mis-shapen. Unfortunately, the noise is still the same and I'm now £380 down. They are collecting again in a couple of weeks, but I thought I'd ask for ideas, as the garage seems at a bit of a loss so far. be nice to point them in the right direction Thanks in advance Dave
  16. pm me a photo of the same model, in a pale colour and I'll Photoshop it for you in mustard yellow
  17. Cheers all for the advice, I'll call them back and add it to the job. Dave
  18. Had a service at 39k miles a month ago, then I got an email from Skoda Watford to say it was time for my 5 year cam-belt change. Shame they didn't tell me at the time!. Anyway, I booked it in (£299) and was offered a chance to have the water pump changed at the same time "as it's so close to the cam belt and we''l have stripped the engine down already" That would cost me an extra £100 rather than the £200 it would cost on its own. I do about 6k miles a year, so what would you advise? Shall I get the lot done at once? Your advice appreciated.
  19. 8.1 installed. Network strength now displays correctly
  20. Yes, that's what I'm hoping too. No biggy to be honest, but nice not to lose a function
  21. Mine is a 2010 with GSM II I think. Maybe the GSM implementation changed by 2012? Also, mine is a Bolero. Should have said that originally
