  1. Just making sure the payment came through OK Steve
  2. Been considering a keypad for the xbox for ages. Will happily nab that from you :-) Forgot to say, please PM me your paypal address and I'll get it paid this evening. Steve
  3. I avoid halfords like the plague after they changed the cambelts on my Mitsubishi FTO (2.0 V6) and returned it running on 3 cylinders... They did eventually resolve it but it took a week (without transport) of trying to convince them it was on 3 cylinders not just "running a bit noisy - same as how you delivered it to us sir"
  4. Found the same with the wifes Galaxy Tab. Battery life puts my phone to shame...
  5. Used to swear by the Avon ZZ3s on my Mitsubishi FTO. Brilliant tyres Not thought about using them on the Octy
  6. Will have to try and catch you all online soon. Got to say my favourite online racing in GT5 was with Shuffle mode - balances out skill levels with better/worse cars.
  7. Pretty sure they will cover it but from memory they will cover labour/diagnostics but only a percentage of parts... If I remember right you paid 10% at 60k, 20% at 70k etc. On that basis I probably wouldn't bother with a policy like that on a high mileage car... Worth making sure of the terms regarding that as you wouldn't want to get caught out
  8. Only recommended the Sony software as it avoids duplication of files, creates playlists the bolero supports and puts the songs into artist then album sub folders. Saved me a shed load of hassle for my iTunes lossless collection without filling my hard disk up with lower quality versions
  9. Can't copy the text here but I use Sony Media Manager as mentioned here http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/227130-itunes-to-sd-card-programming-for-bolero-unit/page__pid__2688482#entry2688482 It works for pretty much any media format and converts on the fly onto the SD card complete with playlists which avoids duplicate files.
  10. As far as I know there isn't a warranty that covers consumables (pads/disks etc). The wear and tear cover means that items like gaitors, CV joints et al are covered before they break. Same as my gearbox - replaced due to problems not only waiting until it suffered a mechanical failure. I would say it depends on the car - 4x4/turbo/DSG versions the cover could easily pay for itself (as it did for my gearbox). A normal manual more basic car is less likely to have major issues. The other thing to check is limitations on mileage/age. WD kept the same excess and free labour but over a certain age/mileage you had to pay a percentage of parts. Not sure what I will do in 18 months time when my 3 years are up - will look around for the best cover/price options. Not definite on WD but not ruling them out either. Hope I haven't caused offense - was just trying to add personal experience to the thread. All the best all
  11. Sound advice to look at what isn't covered. Whilst I agree searching is useful it has to be done with the fact that people love to complain (but rarely praise) in mind. You can probably find negative reviews for pretty much every product/service out there. All extended warranties are sold with the intention of making profit - Skoda and BMW ones included. Makes me wonder really whether any extended warranty is better or worse... The wear and tear cover (which does exist and was very useful) from WD did get items replaced which would be excluded on manufacturer extended policies.
  12. Have you had a warranty from one of the aftermarked companies? Only ask as everyone who told me to avoid Direct Line when I used them had never actually used them themselves. I can't comment on any company/cover other than Warranty Direct top level (inc wear & tear/main dealer) on my previous Audi A6 2.4 SE Avant. Within 4 months of taking out the policy I had gearbox issues (CVT). This lead to a repair totalling more than the 3 years I had the policy in the end. Replacement gearbox & ECU, new clutch kit (7 plate upgrade). They paid out without hassle on multiple claims following that including CV joints/gaitors. Does the extended Skoda warranty cover wear and tear items as well as failure? Also covered parts affected/damaged by failed covered components. Also found that I could use most garages which were connected to the one-link database if I didn't want to use Audi. Definite advantage as I had the gearbox sorted by a proper gearbox specialist without having to go via a "selected" garage. My personal experience only but could not fault the service once the 3 month period (no wear and tear in that period) had expired.
  13. Mine is a 2010 Elegance 2.0tdi 140CR manual estate and doesn't have it. Only put the full spec up as no idea whether DSG versions are different...
  14. Glad it helped somebody - sorry it wasn't useful for the OP.
  15. Reckon it should double each time you are caught speeding - eg £60 then £120 etc. Would certainly have more effect on the people who manage to have more than 12 points but keep their license due to "needing" it.
  16. I was always adamant I needed a keyboard - probably would still be tempted in future as tactile feedback adds a lot to typing. Sounds like the screen did well - mine always had issues around temperature changes. While I love this phone it is a bit large and always feels a bit fragile when out and about. Still have my old Nokia 14 day on a charge phone for outdoor use. Silly really if 1 phone can't do it all. Blackberry phones just feel more rugged than the giant screen beasties. Promise to leave you in peace now after that weird ramble
  17. I actually moved the opposite way - LG GW620 to Galaxy S2. Found that a larger capacative screen by far beats a smaller screen + keyboard. The LG even had a proper 4 line qwerty keyboard. Also, that was the third resistive screen I have had and all 3 got worse very quickly. The wife actually uses this phone as it does what she expects which none of the previous did. Very personal thing really. Played with a few blackberry phones and they are slower to type on for me as the buttons are tiny.
  18. I used Sony Media Go (free software for psp et al). Main advantage was that I could avoid duplicate files in iTunes. If you already have duplicated files to MP3 them this will only help by adding structure to the SD card. It converts files on the fly to MP3 (or other formats) based on the playlist you create for it. Basically avoids duplicate files on the PC / in iTunes. It also adds all the folder structures (artist then album). Managed to get a fair selection onto my card (8gb or so) but takes a while the first time you do it based on data volume. Quicker in future as it only adds / removes files based on the playlist(s). Interesting that I just discovered the Bolero supports the playlist files it creates in the root of the SD card as well so could do multiple playlists... Pleased with it to be honest as all my files are lossless (90gb total) so didn't want MP3 versions cluttering up iTunes.
  19. The android one has gone downhill. Used to work perfectly but now (updated version) takes ages and then reports that it cannot identify the hotspot. Guess they really don't test properly anymore...
  20. On my S2 there is a powersaving mode which slows the processor and saves a lot of battery. Saves the need to mess with the phone.
  21. Not trying to be sarcastic: Have you checked the Dell website? They normally put updated drivers up - you can search by model or better yet the Dell configuration number of your unit.
  22. Did the whole physical keyboard route as I used to hate touchscreens. Biggest mistake I made was an LG GW620 which eventually died. Now got a Samsung Galaxy S2 and have to say I'm more than happy with a touchscreen keyboard. Amazed me that I could be converted at all.
  23. Is the GPS issue Vodaphone specific? Only ask as I have a Galaxy S2 (SIM free) and no issues with GPS - I am however currently using a t-mobile SIM. About 30 seconds to lock on and then works fine using Google Navigation for each time I used it.
