check the fuse for the boot lock simples if its blown but new fuse in . . . . if it wrks then happy days if not the boot solinod gone or wire out . . . theres small cover over it which can be remopved from the inside which has a manual release . . slide across and boot will open

raise by 2 simples

the cold weather doesnt help . . .are you getting the problem when youve just started a journey ? have you been bootin it in 1st gear?, especially when cold can damage clutch /gearbox. but i guess your only geeting problem due to the cold . . .advice dont ram it in as your comin to a stop clutch in and slowly place it in you can normally find a sweet spot just before the car stops.

cold weather takes it out on the battery . . . and if its over 5 years old it wont like given all the amps needed at onces . . .some people hav found even turnin there radio louder or fulkl beams on can knock the power steerin off. Advice to get battery checked or changed but if u get it checked make sure u havnt been runnin car for long as it would heat up after a while and also get tit tested usin a proper battery diagnostic tester the normall testers will probs say its ok. £45 quid cheapest iv found battery

Is there a fuse on the back of the sony unit . . .check that 2

Clutch slips in 5th & 6th (mainly when bootin low revs )only because the gearbox ratios change as you go up gears every gear you go up makes it harder for the car to turn the wheels in simple sence . . if you want clutch to last dont boot at low revs in these gears , i guess your cars re mapped ?? in that case advise racing clutch costin more round the 1k mark . . but in most cases with a slippin clutch it can last for a good length of time, you could run it till it finally goes then get a new 1 . . .only advised if u got breakdown cover ha hope this helps

having the same problems all the time. seems when i have more thigs turned on the more it effects it . . .lights heaters etc . . .iv had the battery tested and it was o.k It seems to affect everthing though my radio turns on/off my lights dim when i steer and the other day i had all warning lights come on and even my engine warning light came on turn car on/ off all back to normal and the other day when i was parkin up stop my car keys out then my alarm started goin off then stopped had this twice has anyone else been having these type of faults think it about time i took the car in cos when the steering goes it gets dangerous.

having the same trouble with my car now someone mentioned to me that it could be to do with the battery im gona check volts and amps and see what i can find out if i discover anything ill let you know

HI, Got a fabia vrs with possible electrical fault . . bad earth? I first notice somthing wrong when i was driving along at night and everytime i put my full beams on my stereo would turn of for a second then turn back on, which i fort nothing off for a while as it didnt happen over the next couple of days. a couple days later, driving along and my stereo cut out again then turned back on but this time my PAS turned off (must have lost the power to the pump?) turned my car on /off then started workin again . . . this has happened to be serveral times nw and i can tell you know its very dangerous with out PAS on like driving a tank. I havent checked any connections etc yet bit will do . any help would be great !

my opion NO just doesnt look wright ... .but fairplay for being different

fabia vrs se up for 9,995 27,000miles at skoda's winner garage in cinderford . . . looks like prices for the se gona stay high for a long while . . . havent seen a cheap one yet

Standard fabia vrs gear knobs look alot better than that what doughnut would ever put that on it ( just lost for words :S ) im sure someones got a pic they can put up of the original its swwweaat!!

seat sergeons is a good site with upgraded seats, can get all types for the fabia and they give discounts to members of this site . . but its still a lot of money, i personally am looking at getting black with green cross stiching look tops got green/ black thing goin on :yes: .. . the armrest was installed in my car before i got it but it looks easy enough to instal just drill 4 pilot holes then screw the 4 self tappers in and away you go that easy

Got 1 . . and is very nice on the long journeys even great for gear changes . . . great lazy boy tool!!!!! as reported above does get in the way of the handbrake , but you get used to it !!! oh happy days! :yes:

Best upgarde for the interior has got to be the seats, seen many with upgraded seats and thinkin off having mine done. Does cost a bit though . . . .i have an carcomfort armrest in my vrs and loves it. Only thing i do find, gets in the way of the handbrake if you keep it down all the time . . .you get used to it after a while though. :yes:

If its remapped , take it for a test drive and make sure the clutch dont slip (makeing sure revs dont go up car does nothing) as this will cost around 400 quid to replace or ask if its been upgrade . . . if not i wouldnt buy a fabia vrs with a remap over 175 bhp normal clucth wont handle no more bhp

just baught skoda fabia vrs from bath area A1 condition for £6300 04 plate 57k miles . . . stainless steel excust, remap, audi tt front disc, blacked out windows, lowered, seat front splitter . . . and fsh think it all depends on what your after from the car. do you want modded ... not modded ??

i may be a newbie but was just checkin this thread as thinkin of upgrading my clutch. however frm what im readin . . never go to MR CLUTCH theres a couple of threads on here which are not happy with the work theyve had done . . . just search MR CLUTCH to find out y! lol
