  1. Can anyone advise me as to whether or not the following is anything to worry about? I bought a new Octavia vRS Blackline diesel DSG back in October 2012, Occasionally at a cold start I notice a squealing noise coming from under the bonnet, it only lasts for about 10 - 20 seconds then completely goes away. It doesn't always do it but I'm pretty sure it tends to do it when its stood out in the damp overnight or after I've washed it off, not sure if this is relevant! Come to think of it, I had a 57 plate Volvo V50 2.0D some time back and I seem to remember that did similar all the time I owned it! Any idea's as its done it from brand new and I don't really want to take it back to the dealer unless absolutely necessary. Thanks Rob
  2. Cheers guys Thanks for that 'Black_Sheep', that's the one. Great stuff ATB Rob
  3. I need to remove the front passenger side door card / panel from my 2012 Octavia Blackline vRS. Can anyone advise or point me in the right direction of step by step instructions as to how to get it off without doing any damage to any of the trim? Any help / advice much appreciated. Cheers Rob
  4. Thanks but I was just wondering if someone on the forum knows where (if anywhere) online we can browse the same info as is available to the dealers?
  5. Anyone know where I can find a parts list (like they have in the dealers with images and part numbers) for the latest Octavia vRS Blackline? In particular the trim parts of the front passenger door? Any help much appreciated. Rob
  6. Cheers guys, just found this as well: http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/252899-amunsden-plus-bluetooth-and-microphone-install-how-to/
  7. Just had a spanking new vRS Blackline a couple of weeks ago, disappointed that Skoda penny pinching didn't include fully functioning built in Bluetooth telephone. All the buttons are there on the radio and steering wheel but obviously its not all there under the skin. Question, anyone know whats missing to get it fully working and approx how much it would cost? Also is it possible to do it yourself or would it need to go in to a dealer? Cheers Rob
  8. alkip, you are right, thanks so much for pointing me in the right direction. I had been cleaning my glass with some small microfiber cloths that were, well, lets say, cheap! Did some investigating today as I finally got chance i.e. not at work and the sun showed its face. Put a couple of bits of masking tape on the windscreen about an inch or so apart so I knew which bit of glass I was working on then cleaned the glass as per normal with glass cleaner both inside and out and buffed it up with one of the said microfiber cloths. The result looked like the glass was full of sparkling glitter / tiny bubbles. I went and found a new clean J Cloth from under the sink, gave it a wipe in the same spot both sides of the glass and hey presto, clear as a whistle! I then went back to the microfiber cloth and wiped it over the same area and the sparkly bits were back, if I looked at just the correct angle in the sunlight while wiping the screen with it you could see it leaving tiny tiny particles on the glass. Who would ever have thought it, after all that it was the cheap microfiber cloth all along! Hopefully this may help someone else who has experienced a similar issue. Thanks once again alkip (sorry I don't actually know your real name) ATB Rob
  9. I have a 3 week old Octavia vRS Blackline and it definitely has no leaks, damp carpets etc. Left it out overnight for the first time last Saturday, went out in it early doors on Sunday morning, it was all steamed up really bad which may not be that unusual if the temperature has dropped down quite low over night, what was very odd was that it took 45 minutes and about 40 miles driving with the air-con on, fan on high, heated rear window on etc before it cleared to an acceptable level! What sort of ventilation system does this car have? A poor one by the look of it!
  10. Hi mate, thanks for your reply. I am pretty sure that its in the glass but you have put a tiny bit of doubt in my mind so I will double check a spot on both sides of the glass as soon as I get the first opportunity with the sun out (which looks like it may take a while as the forecast is for cloudy and overcast all week!) I have already gone over the outer surfaces of the glass with 0000 wire wool lubed with plenty of glass cleaner to no avail but have not investigated closely the inner surface. I will report back on here with my findings as it may prove helpful for others should anyone else have a similar issue. I would love to hear from anyone who has experienced a similar issue.
  11. Glad to be back with Skoda once again. My first Skoda was a 05 plate Fabia vRS which was a great little car, never had a bit of trouble with it, I may well have dropped on and been lucky but there you go. Nearly bought an Octavia vRS some time back but dropped on a nice 58 plate BMW 320d at the right money so have been running that for a while until I heard about the new Octavia vRS Blackline, nice! To cut a long story short it was going to be now or never, £2000 worth of extra kit for the same price as a standard car and 0% VAT so I bit the bullet as they say and as a reuslt I've just taken delivery of a shiny new Octavia vRS Blackline saloon with a DSG gearbox in candy white for well under £19,000 OTR. Happy days. One quick question, anyone ever noticed what looks like millions of tiny glistening particles in the glass when driving towards the sun set low in the sky? Its all of the glass not just the windscreen and Its not on the surface, it appears to be actually in the glass! You can't see them in any other conditions other than when driving into the sun! Any idea's? Cheers Rob
