  1. Hello people like always I have couple of questions for you. It is time, when my Superb need regular service, and couple of mechanics told me different information. Some of them claim that for my motor(2.5 TDI, 114 kw) best oil is Castrol 5W30, and some of them tell me that is better Castrol 5W40. Now I dont know what to do, I want for my car best, and I dont wont to buy cheap oil(5w40 is cheapier)and than regret. What you fellas thinking, and do you have some advice for me? Oh yes and if you think that there is better oil than Castrol pls dont hesitate to share it with me. Second question is: how hard is to dyi regural service on our cars? Money isnt problem, but I like to maintain my car, and it makes me happy. Could I find somewhere how DYI regural service? As always gratefull, cheers

  5. Well, I just didint succsed without taking off bumper. But it was quit easy and I did it pretty quick(all in all one hour(taking off bumper, changing bulbs, drinking coffe and job is done). Now it look like fantastic with chrome bulbs in front indicators.
  6. Hey people I had same problem and I want to share with you. I also replaced with GKN, and for now(knock a tree)it is very good. In my country OEM Skoda Superb Cv joint cost 550 euros for one, and I needed to replace both..I didnt wont and had 1000 euros, and I bought GKN, for now I didnt regret. They are prety good, like first OEM. cheers

  8. Hey rotodiesel can you please explain me( because I dont know english so good) what you mean when you said:"pinch bolt"? What is that? Tnx for answer.

  10. Does anyone know how to change ugly orange side repeaters in headlights? I sooo hate it, and I want to change it but is nessesary to take off bumper or something? Tnx for answers, cheers
  11. Tnx Gaz Latest news: Apparently it can be done with regural usb OBDII cable. I will post link and if it is problem, than you delete it. http://uk-mkvs.net/forums/t/472146.aspx?PageIndex=1 I will try next week and I will report if it works.
  12. Ok I have find out some things, and I will wrote here, to see other people if they won to do it. All Superbs have this option built in, but for some models is softwere locked. To be able to use that, you need serial cable and allclownsareevil's manuel. It cant be done with usb ObdII cable, well it can but for cars which are build from 2005. Unfortunelly I cant find that serial cable in my country because it is rare and now relly old tehnology. But, if it is for consolation I can use this function when I set my key in door lock/unlock position. It isnt big thing but...it is something. All in all I will do some more investigation and try to find out solution and if find I will wrote here. If anyone hear something or find out I would be gratefull to share with us. Cheers EDIT:I forgot, it cant be used serial-usb adapter.
  13. Hmmm sounds interesting and easy to do. Tnx for your "manuel for idiots"...but I have few questions for you.(I hope you can answer) Nowadays in my country its very hard to find cable that have serial, is there other way? Even I find that cable, I cant find notebook :( Can I use OBDII usb cable or bluetooth? :wonder: Oh yes, I allmost forgot, do you know is there another "cool" option(mod) that it can be activated, because I heard from people that some futures are locked because it is classic/comfort and not elegance model? I hope you understand me, my english is relly poor:(
  14. :( Unfortunetly on my car this isnt possible. I dont know reason, but I tried both ways and none of them working. Apparently on Classic this option hasnt been built in. :( Its not major, but it is preety big minus.
  15. OK, do you know will it depend if car is classic, comfort or elegance? Maybe they didnt built in that option in classic or comfort?
  16. Is it possible to use key to lower car windows on superb? Currently I cant try, but last time I tried I heard from people, yes but I didnt suscced. My mechanic told me that I need to use softwer to learn my car that possibulity? Is this tru? Sorry for my english
  17. Ok thanx, I will fit it tomorrow. I cant wait.
  18. Shame, you should send me pm, we could meet and go for a beer, or chill out or something.(or race with our superbs) Never mind, this time next year...(Del Boy) Sorry for off
  19. Yea' pretty good mod. Oh yes, I allmost forget again, did you have trouble to "take out" old ones, especcialy on the hood? How did you do that? I know it can be done on force and brake old one, but I would like to save it for...hmmm I dont know maybe future use.
  20. Hmmmm, I understand now. Tnx for info.
