  1. Oh dear.

I saw my first Karoq yesterday at my local dealers.

A dark grey 150 tsi and every thing else was black.

They'd placed it next to a new silver Yeti 150 tdi which looked modern and sharply styled.

The Karoq looked bloated and boring by comparison.( only my opinion I know.)

Curiously the Karoq was marked up cheaper than the Yeti.

25K and 26K for the Yeti.

I suspect that my next car will be a nice pre-facelift 170 elegance.( like my first one.)

  2. 4 Steel wheels fitted with Goodyear Ultragrip 9 winter tyres 165/70/14  81T.

These were purchased from Mr Winter Wheels (now £370 for a new set.)

They've been used for 1 winter only and are as new ,all with 7mm of tread.

They come with a set of ebay generic silver covers.

I'll deliver North Lincs/Leeds area or meet a reasonable distance. £200.

  3. My brother in law used to own one of the largest car supermarkets in the North.

They sourced their cars from auctions and manufacturers the same as every other dealer.

Their lower prices and deals merely reflected lower overheads and a stack them high, sell them cheap business model.

They had many  repeat customers. (including me...)

  4. You may have seen the below adapted poster whch neatly sums up many of our feelings.

Being one of the key people, working in international logistics, who has to implement much of the BREXIT changes, ie customs entries, fee, import taxes payments and deal with the companies who have to bear this I feel aggrieved more than most.

Nice?  The consequences of BREXIT on the poor and the young give niceties no place considering the gravitas of the outcome IMO.

Hate crimes up by a half, and that is not nice!

    ....."But Pooh" said Piglet.

"When we last voted in 1975, we voted to join a Common market / European Community.

Not an ever growing, bureaucratic ,un democratic federal state .

Perhaps in another 41 years we can have another vote if we get it wrong again?"

...." Harrumph " said Pooh. :giggle:

  5. We have a 2013 Yeti with sunroof but wouldn't have it again. It does let more light into the cabin but our mushroom leather seats improve the interior as much at zero cost. I suspect the seats will be more reliable too! We have only had it open once  - to amuse the grandchildren! We've had multiple problems with leaks - initially because the front drain pipes were kinked during manufacture. It took some time to identify this and the dealer damaged the dash while rectifying this.

We're out of warranty now so hope it keeps working and doesn't leak again.

+1 MikeL .We had 1" of water in the passenger footwell.

It took the dealer days to dry out the interior.

I would certainly not pay for a sunroof.

  6. I've driven 15000 miles in my 150 SEL manual.

It's virtually as quick as my previous 170 until over 3500 rpm where the 150 tails off compared to the 170.

MPG about 10% better. The engine warms up quicker too.

Only slight downside is re-filling the Adblue every 6000 miles.

The Bi-xenons are even better than the original xenons on my pre facelift 170 as well.

  7. I guess one doesn't lower oneself to asking for a discount?.

You get a wry smile in return. (My wife did try. I think she called it "movement in price.")
