  1. I had this on my L&K.

An inch of water on the pax side after heavy rain.

It was a kinked drain tube, fixed under warranty.

I had no more problems, but I decided I could live without a sunroof on my latest Yeti.

  2. We're only simple people here.

We think people are either black or white (Excuse the obvious racist reference), no shades of grey.

Helps when you are making an argument.

But, for those inhabitng the real World, how do we know when the likes of Jezzer is "Being his own man", or giving someone else's opinion for money or some other quid pro quo ? Does a flag pop-up  ? Does his hair stand on -end ?  Or does it only occur when he is writing in the Daily Swivel ?

Or is it the much vaunted "Gut feeling" of the observer  that determines this ?

    Guidance required.

    Nick

  3. The ride height of the Greenline is about 25 mm lower than a "normal" Yeti.

12 mm is slightly lower springs and around 13 mm is lower profile 205/55/16 tyres and wheels.

You could immediaterly bump your yeti up about 13mm by fitting 215/60/16 tyres.(an accepted size.)and have deeper tyre side walls to boot.

Personally I wouldn't bother about the extra12 mm springs.

I've had "normal" Yetis and a Greenline and didn't notice any difference on or off road.

  4. Anything that gives max torque from zero revs is OK by me......you could always pipe yr own sounds on ButB

But can you polish the cam covers ,and look at the engine as you listen to that lovely rasp as you blip the throttle, and the chassis rocks with the torque.

The Battery just does nothing for me.

  5. I made a similar mistake when I replaced a 170 tdi with a 105 bhp Greenline.

It was almost perfect ,with it's grippy winter tyres ,until I changed down to overtake on an up hill dual carriageway.

It stayed at just the same speed.

I now have a 150 tdi which is now OK.

The alleged 187bhp SEAT Ateca looks very tempting....

  6. Quick Edit To EVIL #342.sorry no sense at all .

It' s not "our" Government trying to ,as you say ,"Tear the country apart "

It's all the unelected, faceless Bureacrats  in europe .

That's the point isn't it? It doesn't matter whether it's "call me Dave" or Jeremy (" I've now forgotten why I've always wanted to leave Europe until now.")Corbyn.That's in Downing Street.

For me it's our total lack of Sovereignty over our own country...

  7. One of the women he was talking to seemed to have no desire to try and resolve her own issues and instead seemed content on blaming anyone and everyone else.

On the spending front and with the above graphs, I find this one quite scary.

    http://static.guim.co.uk/sys-images/Guardian/Pix/pictures/2014/3/20/1395326815809/Budget-2013-the-governmen-010.jpg

Look how much more we spend than we take in.

However we do it, we do need to trim about £100bn off our spending and some of that is going to be by restricting:

    - International aid

    - Spending on people who are not UK nationals

    - Fee's paid to clubs that we're in (I consider the EU to be part of this).

To be honest it might help to get in a bit more corporate tax, but frankly they'd be better off lowering the rate to tempt people in, but enforcing it strongly.

The social protection (Including personal) spending is as much as the NHS and education combined!

That's not good for the people in need.

Would you rather get benefits and have to pay for your health care/education?

Debt interest of 53bn is actually the 4th biggest expenditure after:

    - Social Protection

    - NHS

    - Education

    then it's interest payments

Below that are important things like defence, transport, housing.

Can we really argue that these are unimportant?

We do actually need to start trimming things.

On the migrant front, Europe needs to agree that you get paid the benefits of your home country, paid for by your home country.

So a brit in spain gets british benefits.

A german in france gets german benefits.

A note though, that those that come and work and pay taxes actually contribute a lot to our country.

All this stupid we'll vote to say if you can stop it stuff is silly and shows me how out of control the EU has got.

It does need to reform, rather than being the big nanny state.

The argument that we pay loads into the EU is one that's not quite true.

We pay 18bn, get 5bn back in rebate and then probably get 3-4bn back in other payments.

So the net cost to us is about 9-10bn.

That would make a small dent in the defecit, but wouldn't suddenly remove it.

On the other hand, the EU has too many chambers, too many moves from Brussels to Strasbourg, too few signed off accounts and too few controls on spending.

It really needs to get it's house in order and it's own spending in control.

For me this includes stopping the vastly expensive (Approximately monthly) move from Brussels to Strasbourg, not to mention why they have Luxembourg in the mix too for some things.

If this really is the case ,I'm out.

What is slighty worrying is I can't see any remotely  viable case to stay in....

  8. My brother also bought his first Yeti from the lease company for his wife.

He'd had it for 4 years and did over 140,000 miles in it.

The only major work he had on it was a new clutch and DMF.

He replaced it with a new Yeti 150tdi L&K.

They are now a very happy 2 Yeti family.

  9. Well the EU have been quite clear in their response to Boris' comments about renegotiation following a leave win.

There is no 2nd negotiation. If the UK vote to leave, there won't be any offers to keep the UK.

There's also been statements from the EU trade commission that any UK companies once outside the EU, will still be subject to the same rules/laws if they wish to trade with the EU as they are at present. And that being a non eu country would be subject to the same import taxes and limits as other global countries like the US and China are.

So the business as usual from the leave camp clearly isn't going to happen.

The US and China seem to do quite well on the world stage.

I suspect the UK, with what will probably be a weaker £, will do very well After Brexit.

  10. Totally agree about the size.

I awaited the new Honda HRV with interest until it was announced with the now common small low power engines.

I just hope that the new Seat Ateca arrives with a 187 bhp engine with manual gearbox.

Hopefully the next Yeti will be the same ,but I suspect it will be with the DSG gearbox only .

My next New Yeti looks as if it will be a Seat...Shame.. :dull:
