It could be as simple as poor fuel, try some high octane fuel and or a different fuel station.

Never told what the issue was, but after two dealer batteries in three weeks it was agreed to change the fob.

For the same monthly payment do a search see what you could get on PCH. Then if you saved your payments they could act as your deposit. But remember to also factor in saving for your next deposit.
I tried the same thing and decided to keep what I've got.

Either take the car to a Skoda dealer or phone one with the cars vin number and see how much they will charge for a new card.
It is more likely to be cheaper to by a Sat Nav.

The SD cards are tagged to the car. You need to go back to the car giant and ask them to fix it.

I am biased, and I would say yes and my reason is the 1.4DSG has performance, economy and affordabilty.
Around town I get 38mpg with 2 to 4 up and on a long run between 46 and 52mpg, these mpgs are not that different to my 1.6tdi manual Fabia estate.

Similar problem hear, just waiting for my heart op, fortunately for me I won't be able to drive for a short time after I have the op. Just after the start of my heart problem I had to stop driving for a six weeks and it could have been months I thought about the car.
VTing the car gives you no colateril for the next one, so if you have the money for the next deposit then you can VT at 50% of car value. if you do not, then you might be better of paying the monthly payments @£1020.Speedy recovery.

Cannot agree with you more, I think there seems to be a big difference in performance between those who have DSG and manual.Anyway, the car. If there is a performance difference I can't find it, forget sports mode for the moment, even using kick down to pass someone on the motorway is quite simply awesome. For a 1.4 litre engine this thing is more than quick, it's down right fast
Driving mine tonight with 3 up and I didn't have to floor my DSG just rapid acceleration and it had dropped a gear at half throttle, not changing up from 4th until 5000 rpm and 60mph+.

Try and test drive them both.
The 1.4TSI is a cracking engine, economical and quick when needed.
Diesels residuals are being hit by lots of different factors and the 1.4 is holding better value because it's becoming the most suggested engine to get in the Octavia.
I am getting almost the same fuel economy out of my 1.4 in a larger car than the 1.6TDI in my old fabia estate, with better performance.

1.4TSi SE 7 speed DSG here, brilliant engine and my God it's quick when you want it to be. Also frugal on the fuel, I'm seeing 49.7 MPG on long motorway runs at 70MPH.
Only you know/can decide if it's time to change your car. The qoute above is from someone who has just changed from a VRS TDI to the 1.4 and loves it.
Today I drove home from work and at an average speed of 18mph the car did 39mpg(41.7 on dash). On a longer run at 70 with 4 up I can get 46 to 48mpg.

Definitely petrol 2.0TSI VRS, followed closely by either the 1.8 or 1.4.

You are on the border line for TSI/TDI, best thing would be to test drive them and don't test the 1.4TSI or you'll have a problem.

Really pleased you are enjoying your car so much DSG is a bit like marmite, fortunately I like marmite.
I've said a few times how I think the 1.4 is pretty much as quick as a TDI VRS and for me it is the sweet spot of the engines -frugel if driven right and a big smile if you put your foot down. If a standard Octy had multi link at the back why buy a Golf.
My MPG is quite a bit lower than yours as I drive 90% of the time around town with 2 or 4 up and smile when I am not.

I tend to have the car set to sport mode engine and DSG and flick back to normal DSG, then as I need it with a flick of the DSG to full sport.

Very pleased to read how much you are liking your 1.4, for me it's the sweet spot of the range.
Try setting the car to sport mode and pull the DSG stick back to set the DSG to normal.

Sprinkle the effected area with lots of bicarbonate of soda, leave overnight and vacuum off.

Just completed a 94 mile round trip driving with two to five adults with luggage in the car and averaged 45mpg. The journey contained 70mph motorway cruising, a road 40/50 and town stop start traffic.
I am happy with that.

I am flirting with changing mine, I've been given a quote that gives me a staggering £66 equity. The problem is on PCP the new car price has risen by about £2000 and the GFV has dropped by nearly £1000. To buy the same car I need to find nearly extra £3000. At the mo it's back to plan A and pay up and keep the car.

My 1.4 140 dsg spends most of its time doing short runs with 2 to 4 up and I am averaging 38mpg over hilly terrain. On long runs with 4 in I get 48 cruising at 70 where possible, drop down to 57 MPH and the mpg drops as you have to constantly accelerate past lorries.
If I was prepared to trundle at 50 the car would do in excess of 52MPG.
I do not use eco mode as I find normal to be the best in the areas I live,on my next long run I might try eco mode.
The 1.4 has one issue for me it's too easy to use your right foot and enjoy the power - if I had a TSI VRS I would defiantly have a problem with my licence.

Equally you have to understand the biggest problem the old 1.4TSI had was the variant put into the Fabia VRS. Then again my 1.2TDI did nothing but breakdown including injector and DPF issues, any car you buy can be a problem.
I moved from my TDI to a TSI because, I realized my driving type and the length of time I was planning to keep the car was not best suited to a TDI.

MPG wise there is virtually no difference between my TSI and my old 1.6TDI, because the TSI nearly always runs at optimum engine temp (not water/heater) where as the TDI was not.
Equally with my driving I would not effectively get back the additional cost of a diesel.
You need to have a good test drive of both engines and preferably back to back and buy the one you like the best.

I moved from a 2.5 year old 1.6TDI CR to the 1.4TSI. Unless you are doing high milage the CR is unlikely to get warm enough for you to get the full economy from the TDI. I travel 5 miles to work at 30MPH and less and the TDI never got fully warm, the TSI is kicking heat out after a mile and fully warm by 3, I'd go for one of the TSI engines.

Totally personal choice.
I would not cloud your judgement to much with other opinions. Each to there own.
Dsg or manual.. The car will depreciate heavily, these are not prestigious or desirable as a brand, just a run of the mill car, plus there are a lot of used octavias out there now on the market
.
Totally agree and cheap finance.

At times I find the same happens with my dsg. I think it's to do with stop start and or hill hold. You do get used to the engine and accelerator, the little 1.4 engine is a lot quicker than expected.

I've not been on for a very long time.
After 10 years of ownership and 83000 mile my Mk111 and what seems to be a failing clutch pack has gone.
I now have a Nissan Qashqai.
If anybody wants them I have a set of steel wheels with Nokian winters on them, collection only.
