Just thought I'd let you guys know that after much deliberation and haggling, the missus will have a new Fabia vRS on the drive on the 1st September! We (she ) went for silver with no other options as it was right at the top of the budget. As for the deal, we managed to get

Re-mapped vRS from main dealer
Stevoraith replied to Lornick's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk I (1999-2007)
There used to be a Skoda dealer in Kirkcaldy who offered factory cars re-mapped by Star Performance. They have now shut down though :( I knew a salesman who told me their demonstrators were remapped too. Seems a bit of a con to me but...... anyway, it's not unique but certainly unusual. Personally I would go for it- I paid more than -
You will have less power with a trade in it's true, but doesn't mean you'll have to pay list. We're in the process of haggling for one just now and have managed to get

The advice was from a mate of the journalist who was an Audi tech. Not through official channels! Apparently he found a quiet road and tried it and it worked.

Remember that if you've got a trade in you wont get as big a discount as internet prices. I'm currently negotiating to buy one for sept delivery and they're giving us

Aww, thats a pity! Just thought with you being on Knockhill you might be from up here. Where did you find it for

Good to see you had a good experience with buying it mate. I'm hopefully going to be buying one soon for the missus- out of interest what dealer did you use and do you mind saying what sort of discount you got? Also did you have a trade-in? Fingers crossed it's a dealer near Fife!

'53 Fabia vRS vs Brand New Favia vRS??
Stevoraith replied to subvertbeats's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk I (1999-2007)
AFAIK cat2 only applies to immobilisers. If it's a linked alarm/immobiliser then it's cat1. Think the real issue is whether the early ones were thatcham approved, not whether they are cat1 or 2. This is a really interesting thread actually as the missus is hopefully going to order a new vRS within the next couple of months (hopefully once she has a drive she'll realise it's worth the extra over an Ibiza sport! ) As someone said, the prices of used ones are astronomical so it actually makes more sense to buy new, assuming you get a bit off list! -

Discount on a new Fabia vRS?
Stevoraith replied to Stevoraith's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk I (1999-2007)
Thanks for the replies guys. Had thought that a used one would be the best option but the very cheapest from a dealer seems to be about -
Hi guys, first post, been a lurker for a bit though The missus is looking to get a new car around September time and I'm steering her towards a Fabia vRS Only thing is it's right at the top of the budget (probably a bit over actually) so I wondered what sort of realistic discounts people were getting from dealers? Just want a standard one with metallic. Thanks for the help guys.
