  1. I too have the Cruz Airo - sourced from Roofbox - relatively simple to fit and takes the three bikes I did consider adding a tow bar, then using the Thule Easybase - but the cost of a detachable tow-bar put me off!
  2. I had the same problem with a Merc I had - the cause was my knee hitting the key fob and causing the ignition to switch off!
  3. I'm with you on this, Waze for all it's comic book graphics is so much better!
  4. Try http://www.roofbox.co.uk I use the Cruz - just as good as the Thule and cheaper!
  5. I presume you have a Columbus - Amundsen works off an external SD Card that is storage limited!
  6. So I downloaded both MAP 1 and MAP 3 (I travel to both Spain and Germany) - unpacked MAP 1 to the SD Card - and tested it in the car - fine so far, then I went to unpack MAP 3 - and the programme requested I should delete the data on the SD. Hmmmm! what do I do now? Why cannot Skoda futureproof and supply an SD card with sufficient capacity?
  7. The new 2019/2020 maps have been divided into 7 sets of data, I presume if you want both France and Germany on your system you'll have to download Maps 1 & 3? And I guess you'll have to format the original Skoda SD Card as previously? The instructions on the portal are SIMPLY NOTCLEVER! As there are no actual system updates I'm tempted not to do anything and keep using Waze!
  8. I have Amundsen, but I tend to use Waze (I've a good data package) - the traffic info is more up to date, as well as the speed limits and "safety" cameras - the actual graphics do look like they came out of a children's colouring book and the alerts can be a tad startling!
  9. Hi All All my wheels are showing varying degrees of pitting! The photo is the worst case. the car is just over a year old. Before tackling SKODA with a warranty claim - anyone else with the same problem - and if so, what was SKODA's response?
  10. Update on this problem - it would appear that if the destination is "off-road" the system cannot cope - but if you input the post code, then use "find destination on map" and zero the cross-hairs onto the nearest road - it works! Bit long-winded but we'll have to wait to the November GPS update to see if they solve the glitch!
  11. I too have this problem - it appears to be when I use a post-code rather than a specific road/street, and where using Connect Trip Planner transfer!
  12. Unfortunately not - High Beam Assist is currently £300+ option - a tad expensive for what is a software coding?
  13. Thanks Langers - those were my thoughts - but I got so used to High Beam Assist on my last car - I keep forgetting I don't have it and there are some disgruntled blind drivers out there!
  14. Not yet, just got the car two weeks ago - wandering whether it was worth the cost and effort!
  15. Has anyone managed to configure High Beam Assist with the LED lighting package? I've got Lane Assist - so it should be OK - but only information I've found so far is for halogen and bi's.
  16. My windscreen cracked on my Roomster Scout whilst on holiday in France - I was put in touch with CARGLASS by Skoda help-line (my insurance company SAGA was as much use as a chocolate tea-pot!)CARGLASS call centre were great (my French is not brilliant - but they put an english speaker on the line)I was given an appointment at the depot near where I was staying in Perpignan - and the staff there were extremely patient with my fractured french. One word of warning - my Roomster is a 2010 model and has an aerial embedded in it - make sure if the same happens to you that your new windscreen has one!
  17. Is it an import? (although it is a right hooker)
  18. TMC reception for the likes of TomTom,Garmin, Navman etc is not all that good, with either the "strings" or the aerials built into the power cable. http://www.ge-tectronic.de offer various adapters that use the car aerial for TMC reception - I've used them on my Roomster/Navman set-up - much better reception and pick-up . Bit pricey though!
  19. The Maxidot on my Roomster does not have the "convenience" function that is needed to change - It might have to be a service adjustment1 Why the differences in Maxidot? John
  20. VED is the same, Fuel Consumption virtually the same (depends on the way you drive) Acceleration, Torque and Top Speed better on the 105. So it's really what you want! Mines a DSG so it's the 105 - but I drove the 85 and as long as you stirred the stick it was fine, but the 105 is lazier - so less stirring!
  21. Thanks the_raz, should teach me to read the owners manual more carefully!!!
  22. I have a Roomster Scout TSI DSG 2010 model. Last couple of times I have used the remote to lock the car, but when I returned to the car some time later both front windows were partially open (I only have front electric windows) First time I put down to operating the switches accidentally when I closed the door, but a second time................? I know using the remote you can close the windows, but I didn't think it opened them. I've tried to recreate the issue, but it's not been repeated..... yet! Anyone else seen this, and if so what was the problem?
  23. I decided to use a couple of hard wire mini usb (to maintain the necessary amps for my devices - managed to hide them behind the fusebox
