  1. Thanks I will try them on Monday cheers.
  2. Hi No not at all they have e-mailed me the relevant bits but no more than a few minutes discussion. I will get gap but not at the the prices they want. All recommendations for gap greatly received.
  3. Test drive a 64 plate blackline this morning drove from Lincoln to Lookers Skoda Newcastle very happy with the car looked after very well by Neil. Agreed a deal and collect next Saturday. The only other dealer I spoke to Allams were not interested in taking my Passat and suggested we buy any car. I got significantly more from Neil and the experience was more friendly/independent than a big chain which I like. Would throughly recommend Neil and Lookers Newcastle. See below me and the beastie!
  4. Hi thanks for the reply I'm now testing a black edition 64 plate tomorrow newer and less miles than the adventure will buy if the drives ok.
  5. Hi all going to look at a 63 plate adventure tomorrow I wondered what accessories if any were supposed to come with the car when it was new (like a torch etc?) It would be good to check these in case the previous owner has kept them or chucked them on e bay. The car is with a main dealer but you never know. Thanks
  6. I had the update on my VW Passat 140 tdi 62 plate 2 weeks ago no difference to performance or economy as far as far as I can tell. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Bought a Kia Soul Connect Plus today. Really enjoyed the test drive loads of kit dab nav usb bluetooth reversing camera etc and I was sold. Got a great deal I think and peace of mind. The looks are probably not for everyone I accept that but I'm very happy with it. 58 Plate 120d M Sport Auto
  8. Hi just thought I'd update you. I have decided against the Rapid. Without wanting to cause offence on here it's just a bit too dull for me although it's good value for money. The interior I felt was a bit lacking in the quality department and that put me off a test drive. I'm now thinking of going back to mini or even test driving the new Kia Soul! Now that is a left field choice but I quite like them. Thanks for the replies and good luck with your Rapids. 58 Plate 120d M Sport Auto
  9. That's a lot of car for that money! Someone will get a bargain. 58 Plate 120d M Sport Auto
  10. Thanks all very interesting I'm a bit concerned about this booming I've heard mentioned but sometimes you get what you pay for and there are drawbacks to every car ( former alfa owner so I should know ). There's also a few Seat Leon's about in this sort of price range that are only fractionally older so that's a route to investigate as well I think. Thanks for all the replies. 58 Plate 120d M Sport Auto
  11. Hi All Am looking for a cheaper replacement when my 1 series goes out of AUC warranty close to xmas. Saw one of these and looked online and seemed an awful lot of car for the money. The spaceback looks especially good in my opinion. I do 15k with a 40 mile round trip to work with half of that on dual carriageway but the other half is busy stop start traffic so I'm thinking of going back to petrol and the 1.2 appeals with the 6 speed box. I would look at 6-12 month old cars. Research has shown dab usb cruise rear sensors could be within reach for not much more than 10k with finance contributions and free servicing. All sounds to good to be true you would struggle to get a vw up with that kit for the money. So what's the catch? 58 Plate 120d M Sport Auto
  12. You have done the right thing. I had a problem with my last bmw, a rattle I was not prepared to live with as 8 dealer visits failed to sort it for more than a couple of weeks! I ended up selling the car. I agree with your comments about dealers and technical service I also feel this is very poor and that they are all to happy to fob you off! No matter what brand you choose there is always the chance of something like your problem happening unfortunatly! We all as car owners should remember it could quite easily happen to our vehicles! Michael.
  13. Hi 10 months in my opinion is way to long. Thats one of the reasons I looked elsewhere. I guess you would want a 1st march reg so that would be a year! Ridiculous even with 300 M and S vouchers.
  14. Try Carbaflo if you can get your hands on any.
  15. Hi If you want a real bargain a mate of mine has just bought a 7 month old BMW 530d GT it has every extra on and came from a main dealer. It was over 53k new, he payed 32k. It's not everyone's cup of tea looks wise but is a great car for the money! Michael.
  16. Hi I know a few people with XF's, very nice cars but Jaguar still have a lot of reliability problems and the main dealer servicing costs are very high. Also XF's go through tyres and brakes at a shocking rate! Michael.
  17. Hi If a saloon like the XF is interesting you I would suggest a C or E class Mercedes. The company has really hit form after some poor years. Michael.
  18. Hi I agree but I am not spending 2-3 grand for some decent wheels and winter tyres. I will just slow down a bit and take more care Michael.
  19. To be honest I live in the middle of Lincoln and not out in the wolds, so snow would not normally be much of an issue. For me the cost of winter tyres and having some crappy alloys instead of the amg ones on the car is a none starter. If I have to I will park it up for a week or so and use the other halves vw fox. Michael
  20. Hi All Just a note to thank you all for advice given and enjoyable threads. I have not posted for a while but a few of you may remember I was interested in a top of the range yeti to replace my bmw. Although I remain a fan due to a few issues including the high used value (good for you bad for me!) and what I consider to be a an unacceptable waiting time I have purchased a year old mercedes c class 350cdi. The car ticks all my boxes and as an ex mercedes management car I have saved over 14k on the list price. I just hope for better weather in Lincoln this winter! Thanks to you all for advice given and who knows I may have a yeti in the future. Cheers Michael.
  21. Hi To be honest I don't really need the extra space that the Octavia would bring. I am also quite keen on a car with a rear wiper as I have to reverse out of my garage area every day and at the moment I have to wipe the rear screen every day by hand! As my BMW is only 18 months old I am hoping to nearly do a straight swap for a car with having to put any cash down or sell the BMW privately first. Michael.
  22. Hi Going to test drive a Mazda 3 185 Sport at the weekend. I have been a passenger in one recently and was very impressed. It comes with sat nav, bose, heated seats and front and rear screens, folding mirrors and the all important mfsw. Michael.
  23. Hi Speaking from a personal point of view there are enough s...t drivers about without me taking my eyes off the road to alter the stereo and talk on the phone! This would be a deal breaker for me and I would be unhappy paying extra to retro fit an item that should be standard on a car in this price bracket. The fact that it is standard on a number of other Skoda's is even more of a joke. Michael.
  24. Hi With the Skoda not having a multi-function stearing wheel I am looking at other options. The Mazda 3 seems a lot of car for the money with the amount of kit as standard while I have always liked the Seat Leon. Any thoughts on these cars? Perhaps someone might like to try and push me towards the Skoda even without the MFSW. Thanks Michael.
  25. Hi The other half will not have a DSG so only choice is a manual. I prefer the Mazda185 to a Seat Leon fr. Michael.
