Hello mbames and everybody! I have the very same problem (mine still work but make an annoying sound and they stop sometimes), I just took my Octavia to the dealer and wants 200+US for replacing the mechanism (which I dont have because I just spent 300 on maintenance arghhhhhhh!!! ) I suppose that greasing the mechanism will work for me and Ill have a happy wallet , could you explain to me in detail how you did it? (step by step do-it-yourself foolproof explanation!). Its hurricane season down here, sure would like my wipers ready for heavy rain! Kindest regards Dominican_Skoda

Hey!!!! The thing finally decided to work. Must be one of those automotive miracles. was about to trash the radio and buy something else. Got one of those mp3 players on my mind Thanx for all your help

Finally got it out!!!! But still no audio. There is a single connector on one side (kind of like coaxial type, guess its antenna) and two connectors with multiple wires each, everything seems to be in place. Theres also a 10A fuse that looks OK. Any other ideas????? :confused:

Tried the credit card thingy but it refuses to come out!!!! Any hidden screws around there??? Thanx

Thanx a lot people. When braking hard the pedal does not go back and forth gently but ratker hard, although I dont know what this would mean. After reading the webpage posted earlier I sort of undestand it better!!!

Hi again. Got an Octavia Elegance 1.6 AT with front disc brakes, and normal rear (dont know how to call them). The car has ABS system. I will try to explain the problem. If I apply FULL BRAKES (lets say going 40-50kmh) I can feel the brake pedal moving (going back and forth) Is this normal? The tires wont even screech. A year ago I had a collision with a 4x4 tha suddenly braked harshly, I hit the brakes on time, but still slammed him in the rear :eek: (good thing I didnt bust the radiator ) Thing is, I feel I had enough space not to hit the car, I something wrong with my brakes? (the car does stop!!! believe me, Im driving it right now!!!!). Thanx Giulio

Hi, My Symphony radio on my Octavia (version with single CD) has gone sort of dead with me. Worked the day before and now I dont get any sound from the speakers. The radio will turno on, scan FM radios, everything, BUT NO SOUND!!!! Cant understand why. Suppose faulty/disconnected wire. If anyone can ge me some info about this, or evene a diagram or how-to guide to take the radio out, Ill appreciate it!!! Regards Giulio
