  1. These are the words from Novatech.

"In order to comply with the terms of the licence this software must be bought with a qualifying non-peripheral hardware component' date=' such as a hard drive, motherboard, memory, CPU, etc."

A tenner will get you 32 mb of edo ram. Job done.;)[/quote']

Hmm i know people that have been down this road before and despite what it said, it wasn't just as simple as that. Will be interested to see how you get on tho Tom.

  2. When I had mine done a few years back' date=' planning consent was only required if the planned conservatory was larger than 50% of your existing garden, as well as proximity to the nearest adjacent highway.

Go for a coloured roof (bronze is better at keeping sunlight down) and as many ply as you can. If it's going to be south facing, then ventillation is a major requirement. Mine is 6m wide, 3m deep at ground level with a sloping roof that rises to around 4m high. I have 2x roof openers, french doors,6 top and main openers and 4 top and bottom fixed. In any sun it gets very hot, and if its locked up and a hot day, temperatures of 50oC are not uncommon. For this reason also consider the flooring. Mine is "cozy floor" ie chipboard top on a condensed foam material, sat on a concrete base. This helps in the winter. However laminate is out due to the extremes of temp in mine, (the last lot buckled completely) so now I have a very nice and not to cheap lino covering, that has a non-slip texture and is ok in the heat, but not cold in the winter.

ps: it was Anglian that did mine, and cost me £16k including any planning stuff, footings, brickwork to 60cm, drainage adjustment, build and glaze.[/quote']

Here in NI you now need planning permission for all conservatories I think.

  3. Yeah as Lummox says. Peizo injectors are a lot quieter.

As for the power steering, I doubt there's any real changes but they have probably changed the power assistance level. It's electric power steering so they can do that. I plan to ask my dealer to lighten up my steering a notch or 2 next time the car is in for service.

  4. Although the 1.9 has a lower torque figure than the 2.0, I thought the 8V engine would be better for towing duties than the more performance orientated 16V 2.0tdi engine.

I'd agree actually. The 2.0 wouldn't struggle at all but then again the 1.9 would manage ok too and keeping economy up is a bit of a balancing act in the 2.0 whereas I gather economy doesn't seem to vary as much over the rev range in the 1.9.
