steam cleaner is a waist of time.
you need to draw out the dirt so a wet hoover would be required along with a good fabric cleaner
-
i use the pressure washer on mine once a year followed by the extractor and air dried, vacuum 2-3times a month(every 2-300miles) and spot clean with fbric cleaner as needed
-
i've got these on mine
-
have to admit i like them

My Dad used bathroom sealant on the other side, and said there was "no need to smooth it in"
Needless to say it leaked again the next day.
bear in mind he's the 50 year old plumber and I'm the politics student
To put it nicely - your dads a numpty.
smoothing it doesn't just make it look nice but pushes it in contact with all lumps and bumps.
i fit windows and doors for a living and imagine the amount of call backs i'd get for leak problems if i didn't do this

I remember a website where you could enter your chassis/optional equip number and it would decode it for you.
Trouble is i can't find it now, having spent the last 45mins searching all the terms and places i could.:thumbdwn:
can someone point me in the right direction?
Many Thanks

nothing wrong with a bit of gear chatter:D
had mine in for a service and got a report back of excess vibrations coming from flywheel and engine to body.
last time i'm putting my car there, don't think they've even seen a modified car!
i don't mind a bit of chatter though
IIRC it was just under a grand for mine fitted

it's not to hard at all.
biggest troubles i had was putting the alloy undertray back on and feeding the neck of the 5l washer bottle into place(recommend doing this while the bumper is off)
-
ive just checked and its the brake lights they dont work at all what could of caused this?
fuse could be out.
bulbs could have blown (but you'd still get the high level working i'd think)
-
i would suggest using the glowplugs in the cold. just to help it turn over.
don't think it would be related to your steering issue.
does it fire 1st time when its warm?
-
why would you want to turn the key when the engine is started?
-
i changed mine cos it was turning with the wiper arm. can't remember a price now but £30 seems to ring a bell.
unless they've twigged that this bit brakes in fabias and have hiked the price up
-
No!
Loosen a few bolts across the front ant you should be able to squeeze them out and new ones back in.
It is a very easy job to remove the bumper though. its up to you (depends if you have 2 hrs or 1 i suppose)

I'm currently planningg to take off my Jabba one as in traffic it is just terrible. now wondering if this is the way to go.
Thnanks Bas.
Any one tried out both methods and notices if it's any softer on the vibration front?

If your getting your service and belt done at star, just tell Jim you want the metal one and he'll get it for you.
i wasn't going to be as it's a fair trek down the road but i'm starting to rethink.
-
where can i get one from and any part numbers?
-
Sorry to sound a bit dumb but are cam belt and timing belt different things?
How much can i expect to shell out for this little lot?
-
My car is coming to it's 4th service, it has just under 30K on the clock.
Just wondering what i should be expecting to be done at this time.
I'm going to get the plugs done, when is the cam belt and other things due?
Many Thanks

you didn't just ask the devon lad for the spec on his car did you?
his wasn't even a vrs when it started and to be pushing 260bhp is some great effort
