  1. While I don't have figure to back this up I find modern cars are much more fuel sensitive due to the fiddling that has/is been done to comply with ever more obtuse EU emissions regulations. Also why would it be less of an issue on a new engine than an older engine. Due to the engine operating tighter tolerances any build up would be more of an issue not less.

  2. There are many car drivers who: Pull out without looking or indicating, Open there doors into the paths of cyclists.

Instead of a "them and us type argument" it should be agreed that there are many car drivers at fault and often many cyclists at fault. However one thing that is certain is that the cyclist is the most vulnerable and at risk from serious harm so that does put the onus on the car driver to be more careful whether you like it or not.

If we are going to go highway code about this

Many of the rules in The Highway Code are legal requirements, and if you disobey these rules you are committing a criminal offence. You may be fined, given penalty points on your licence or be disqualified from driving. In the most serious cases you may be sent to prison. Such rules are identified by the use of the words ‘MUST/MUST NOT’. In addition, the rule includes an abbreviated reference to the legislation which creates the offence. See an explanation of the abbreviations.

Although failure to comply with the other rules of The Highway Code will not, in itself, cause a person to be prosecuted, The Highway Code may be used in evidence in any court proceedings under the Traffic Acts (see The road user and the law) to establish liability. This includes rules which use advisory wording such as ‘should/should not’ or ‘do/do not’.

Also If you don't want to take simple steps to protect yourself, maybe we need to legislate for darwinism if you want to be a dumb ass you do so at your own liability.

  3. The internet where what you say will be used against you by a bunch of self righteous god complex self deceiving supposed angles. To err is human, people get angry and will seek revenge against what they perceive as wrongs committed against them. Actually following through on sentiments expressed in anger is rare.

Also posting you intend to harm or kill someone for something they said on the Internet does exactly inspire confidence in their ability to function outside the secure mental health facility they should be detained within.

Internet warriors at the ready all hail the knee jerk over reaction and inquisition. We shall make you repent for actions suggested by all means necessary to appease the baying mob.

  4. Most Sam systems dont actually create large fireballs they only cause fragmentation damage to the airframe which causes the engines of the target to be damaged or damages enough of the structure to cause the target to suffer structural failure. Also ccomercial airliners and military transport aircraft look very similar on radar until you start doing some advanced things.

P.S. the damaged tail section is consistent with the damage you would expect from a proximity detention from a chase shot missile.

  5. Leaving aside the ridiculous reversing which is clearly not right.

I think Richard made a good point once you start calling people names/gesturing you have made it personal. Personal conflict is unpredictable and regardless of driving standard or lack of you have verbally assaulted someone which is an offence in its own right.

Two wrongs don't make a right, or in this case two dickheads don't make a saint.

Also side note I'm guessing that the forward facing camera is attached to his helmet so they are both guilty of without due care and attention.

  6. No, because of looking to relocate the nuclear subs, it is now being looked at moving all subs from Scotland.

All the Tornado maintenance is being moved to Marham along with slowly moving Tornados south.

The F35 will be based at Marham, and not Lossiemouth.

My statement about contracts was based on Mr Hammonds words approx a year ago when he was at the yard checking progress.

Can you enlighten us to what other submarines your talking about as even the royal navy doesn't know its got non nuclear subs. Trfalgar and Astute SSN's and Vangard SSBN's are all nuclear.

Also the movement of the SSBN's is timescaled for 5-10 years more likely you'd end up having to base the vangards out of naval submarine base kings bay Georgia america

Tornado's are scheduled for retirement in the next 5-10 years if the last SDSR is to be believed.

Politicians lie and won't let facts get in the way of making a point, and Samand is as guilty of this as the londoners, we'll joint nato a nuclear umbrela organisations and ensure that it has one less member with nuclear weapons to make sure they let us join. Yes because thats the way thats realy going to go.

  7. Honestly they are the prime example of why politicians should be barred from being involved in any military procurement matters

1 humongous public and comercial relations disaster

2 strategic defence & secutrity reviews

    3 Qwango studies

    4 contract renegotiations

  8. I'm guessing here but as he said its out of his phone I'm guessing its a micro SD card. Which contains a very small amount of metal, a good enough metal detector could find one with enough time and the sensativity maxed out but your hunting for something 1 cm by 1.5 cm which is mostly plastic and semiconductor. Your more likly to find it by finger tip searching than hunting for it with a metal detector. I'd question if it was worth the effort to be frank.

  9. Finding the dent in my drivers door that was done at the gym. To make it worse I was standing waiting to get into my car when they did it and was so obviously blatant. Park in space at angle that leaves no space between cars. Passenger opens door into car pull door back lean on door smacking it into car with more force. Look owner in face while doing so and walk off without even a sorry. Another example of the **** you as long as I'm the only important person mentality that has taken this once great empire to a third world dumping ground for the oxygen thief's who can't be sociable enough to deserve human rights.

  10. Interestingly that last comment sounds like the kind of opinion passed on from fellow workers.

Which was kind of my point.  Then them and us mentality that makes a productive valued worker someone that just seems to be doing what they have to.

If there is one thing I've learned, it's that there is a divide between management and staff.

They may be nice to your face, but will criticise etc.. behind you back.

Which has never bothered me because that's just part of the job.

This isn't a personal criticism by the way.

When you go from a worker to a manager you rapidly go from being an alright bloke to an utter arse in the eyes of the regular staff. :D

Fact is, there is usually a reason why things are done a certain way.

But because regular staff are only aware of what they do (and not the full picture including management decisions and the reasons for them) they get a blinkered view and can't understand the decisions.

But even though you are paying them to do what you want them to do, they automatically seem to get a right to moan and criticise all decisions they don't understand because they are not right in their eyes, where they only know a small part of the puzzle.

I think it realy depends on the company and even sometimes manager you work for.

I've been told off by a manager because I fixed a couple of loose bolts etc on some test equipment because we should have called out the test equipment group to come and do it instead.

I just saved you from having 3 engineers standing around waiting for over an hour by doing a simple job myself and your complaining about that.

I know from talking to some of our managers about cars mainly because they can't undertand how someone who's paid half of what they are has a nicer car, that one of them has called the AA out because he didn't want to change a tyre. I don't get why he spent two hours waiting for someone else to do it when it wouldn't have taken more than half an hour to do it himself.

  11. While I agree the Renault power unit definitely appears to be a right bag of spanners. It has been funny watching red bull state over and over that its not Sebs fault that he is slower than Ricardo. Lets face it, its still probably the best chassis in F1 and Sebs too slow on the brakes/in the corners. That's his fault not the power unit. Unless red bull are trying to imply Recardo's car has magic extra hourse power
