It'll probably be fine as its a new engine it'll have some new freshly designed in weak point its just a case of finding it.
though all told it should be less stressed and a bit cooler running than the 1.4 twin charger (just a guess here nothing to back it up)
I'm just interested to see how it copes with trying to put down that sort of power with only front wheel drive.

Hello Jason
Many thanks for organising the ring part of the trip.
I’m ok with the price
Cheers Can

The "production" Polo R is widely expected to be running the new 1.6 T with something like 216-230 BHP stock though the engine is supposed to be good for up to 300BHP in its full max tune state.
Using the 1.6T would make a lot more sense as that’s what is being fitted to the Audi S1.
The A1 is reported to be running the 1.6TFSI with 220BHP and Quattro
Audi are also releasing a A1 Quattro in 1.4 TFSI 180bhp form as well
Unfortunately it looks like someone at VW's going for an own goal and decided that Front wheel drive only was a good idea for the Polo R
Also remember the new Golf Mk7 GTI is scheduled for release next year.

I would actually like to visit it as well, not sure how long I'll want to stay but it is worth a visit if just to remind people that this is why fundamentalism is dangerous. It is also part of why so many people died ensuring our freedom and that of mainland Europe from multiple nations.

I've Had the Dunlops SP Sportmax2's factory fitted and after 6 months, I'd had enough of the wheel spinning under acceleration as the MK2 didn't seam to have enough wait to get them hot enough to work properly.
I'm now running Continental SportContact3s and they are better than the dunlops in the Dry and about comparable in the wet.
You have to accept that higher performance tyres will not last as long by virtue of them being made softer to provide more grip.
-
Just to check you are sure it was rain water and not the rear screen washer line joint?
There are posts about it in the forum somewhere

The MK2 VRS in my opinion is very susceptible to small variations in tyre pressure especially at the front.
I think it's due to the small is tyre size/profile and the setup of the car from the factory.

Only thing we might have an issue with using last years field would be the grass deteriorating with there being more cars but that will really depend upon the weather

Came out of Uni to find some fecktard in a ford focus had decided to use my front splitter as their parking guide so its now sporting some lovely scratch's along the top face of it.

The wet Clutch DSG's with Launch control are fine off the line.
The smaller 7 Speed Dry Clutch DSG isn't so good, not sure what the 7 speed Dry in the Audi TTRS is like though.

This afternoon washed it and gave it is first wax of the year then fed it some more oil.
-
Sorry about not making it but got caught up with other work to do.
Glad you managed to have some luck with the weather.
-
I believe this is the place
I'll be along for a while at least but might not be staying all afternoon though.

Holy hell, how did you remain calm after that. That is some seriously nasty damage someone really needs locked up for that sort of down right idiocy.
Also I would be seriously questioning if that's even repairable as it has damaged the A pillar from the look of the pictures and that is a vital structural component of the body shell.

If your at the meet on sunday we can do some side by side pics if you want.

Cleaned my winter tyres after taking them off the car last week, then spent time picking all the stones and gravel that they've been throwing all over the road out of them.
Then washed my car to try and clear as much of the salt and other rubbish its picked up from the roads off it.
Then put some petrol in it.

Simply put with the unconfirmed Polo Cross, Polo R and Audi S1 where exactly does a Fabia VRS + or Fabia Scout 4x4 fit into the VAG range? Simply put it doesn't.
The only time I could see it being released would be once the next A1/Polo platform has been produced and even then I doubt it will be with the same engines as the Audi and VW parentage.

Change mine on Tuesday.
Went from Goodyear UltraGrip3's to Continental Sport Contact 3's
Big improvement but I've been seeing temps of 7-13'C for a week though back down to 4 C tonight
Damned either way
-
It looks good untill you see the back end of it, I'm sorry but someone realy failed at thier job of styling it there and they failed hard.
-
1 Why are they fitted as I don't see what function they provide.
2 Why not simply remove then for the MOT then fit them after if you are that worried about them being an MOT failt.
3 Man up and take the damn things off and burn them.
Personaly I'd go for option 3 but its up to you.
-
Ha ha Lol your in for one hell of a shock when you get the fabia as it'll not do that sort of MPG unless your driving it like a coffin dodger.
You'd have been better off with a Mk1 or an 1.6 Dev probably maybe even a greenline.

I'd suspect they are having difficulty diagnosing it being unable to open the box.
What would other wise be a 5 min job of open box inspect gear answer is no longer an option, yet.
Though I'm sure other options will come along such as uprated clutch packs etc, eventually.
