  1. That brings back memories, especially the SWM, I fell off of one of those regularly in enduros
  2. Hi Mouldy

I am in Northants as well. My partner and I both have Vrs's. Mines an Octy and hers is a Fabia.

I am a pro photographer, and the missus us loves it too :-)

    welcome to Briskoda.

    Regards

    Graham.

  3. Nicely caught and excellent PP Chris.
  4. That would be good. Had to travel miles to get my car serviced!
  5. Whilst I am not arguing that you may have a problem, there is a specific way to test for front an back focussing. I actualy use a specific tool and Canon approved methods for the job of calibrating the focus for each of my lenses. Focussing at 45 degrees to an object is virtually guaranteed to give you errors! It's still nice to get a new camera though ;-)
  6. I have had plenty of work carried out by CPS, and have never had cause for complaint. A new sensor and shutter in my 1ds2 (no charge) New PCB's and AF stuff with my 1D mk3 (I dropped it on a job!!) again no charge.
  7. I have added a little sharpening (cos I forgot to do it :-) Refresh the page and you should see the latest version.
  8. Hi Lens Lover..... I shot it in RAW (is there any other way) and processed it in lightroom. The detail you see was all recorded well. I have just finished profiling the camera, and the following is the result. The colours are more accurate and the image has much more punch. I think it does particulary well for a small sensor.
  9. They have come out really well. It shows perfectly that a good photographer can produce great images with virtually any camera.
  10. As requested, here is the original.....
  11. Bear with me, I am away from the pc at this time, only have the phone. I will post the original when I can. No offence taken, I don't usually faff about with hdr etc, it's over the top for the agencies I supply images to. But it's good fun nonetheless. 35 years in the 'trade' and as you can imagine, I have seen many so called trends in photography, and many people who suddenly become a photographer because they have bought an slr. I am still learning, despite having over 35 years experience. Every commission, wedding or image sale, adds to my experience.
  12. I appreciate your comments. Whenever you take a risk coming up with a method of processing, you will invariably not satisfy everyone. As the title says, just faffing about. Whilst the G12 is no Slr, it does a pretty fair job for something that slips into the pocket. You are right, it is the processing that adds the 'grainy' effect, it's all part of the feel I wanted. Thanks again for taking the time to comment
  13. Thanks for the kind comment. The pic was taken in the Woburn Gardens.
  14. Had a trip out today and only took a compact camera. Those who know me will be surprised, as I normally cart around tons of SLR gear. Anyway, heres a shot I took with my newly aquired Canon G12 compact camera. The shot has been given a bit of tweaking in Lightroom and Nik HDR efex pro.
  15. The Canon SLRs do have this option, but it can only be set with the software that comes with the camera. So plug it into the USB port to set it. I also set all of the exif data such as image copyright adresses and contacts and keywords in the exif data when I import the images with Adobe Lightroom. This makes life a lot easier when submitting the stuff to the picture agencies. The copyright symbol can be accessed on a PC by holding the 'Alt' key down and typing 0169 on the numeric keypad... for example, ©GTMedia Services 2010
  16. An injured back has laid me up :-( Sorry I cant make it this time, I a looking forward to meeting and having a chin wag.
  17. Embarrasingly I don't know which dump valve has been fitted. I purchased the car used. I have had an octy vrs before, and this one is noticeably quicker. It sounds like the air brakes on an HGV, when you come off of the throttle, but not as loud! Loud enough to make pedestrians glance though.
  18. Sorry guys, I should have mentioned the revo remap and modded dump valve. I think it would drop under 6 secs for the 0-60 if I did it correctly !!
  19. Installed PocketDyno+ on my iPhone the other day. I tried it out on a quiet level piece of road and got the following results with my Octy VRS. I did screw up the run by changing from 2nd to 5th (****) which killed the 1/4 mile time, but the results are quite impressive nonetheless.
  20. Dave, I photographed a series of 100 still life type shots st small apertures, this of course shows up the dust on the sensor. As the dust is in the same places for each frame, I used lightroom to 'heal' all of the spots on the first frame, and then synchronised those edits to the rest of the images. 98% of the shots edited fine. Saves hours of editing :-)
  21. A few here http://www.warehouseexpress.com/search/?q=Photo%20frame
  22. Errrr, I was lost Jon!!! Where is it
  23. But the sheep rubbed against it, it should be fine!
  24. Thanks Wardy - I appreciate your comments.
