  1. The tuner who will be present is REVO Technik in conjunction with Wallace Performance of Aberdeen. http://www.revotechnik.com/ http://wallaceperformance.co.uk/ There will be special price remaps available on the day for anyone who may be interested in having their car tuned by the best in the business This is a great chance to run your car standard and tuned, back to back on the 1/4 mile to see the difference some software would make to your car and take advantage of a one off special REVO offer in Scotland. Can those who may be interested in a special price remap on the day please list their interest below including the Make, Model and Year of car below. Cheers Al
  2. Oh, and here is the attendance list on SCN http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/showthread.php?t=303839 Currently over 60 cars going
  3. Hi Guys, I am the Scottish Moderator for www.seatcupra.net and I have been working on organising a Scottish meet for 2011 after a successful event in 2010. We have secured the date of 24th July 2011 and the venue is Crail Raceway in Fife because there is plenty of space for attractions, show and shine, BBQ's, tents, vendors selling parts etc. In addition there is the ability for people to run their car down the 1/4 mile. We would like to invite you guys to this meet, and I would like to work with the event organisers on here so that we can make 2011 much better than 2010. VW and Audi will be welcome also, but we would like the spotlight to be on the "overlooked VAG marques" rather than the usual Audi/VW shows. Anyway, so far we have secured the interest of a major tuning outfit who will be represented on the day with special offer price remaps and we are working with a few other ideas for attractions including SEAT presence like last year, show and shine competitions with detailing companies being present and hopefully some other product vendors. In addition, we are looking at 1/4 mile classes for competitions and we have prizes to dish out from reputable companies too. If you would like to be part of this, appreciate if you can list your interest below. I can elaborate on detail in about a months time (May). Hopefully the admin on here will be happy with this - I had messaged them with no reply so assume silence is golden. Al
  4. www.seatcupra.net will be hosting their annual Scottish meet on the 20th June at Crail in Fife. For those who may not know about Crail, it is a lovely wee village on the East Neuk of Fife - Details here Crail also has an retired airfield which every other Sunday in the summers, hosts Scotlands answer to Santa Pod - a 1/4 mile strip, drifting area and it has a decent grassed area for club meets. We have managed to secure 20th June as the date which we will have our meet, and we are planning to make the most of it. Ideas for the meet include a show and shine competition, and for those who are more in to go than show, we will have four 1/4 mile classes for people to try out their pride and joy against similar cars. The groups are currently; Fastest Ibiza Diesel Fastest Ibiza Petrol Fastest Leon Diesel Fastest Leon Petrol Info on Crail here - www.crailraceway.co.uk We are trying to organise professional pictures coverage, attendance by a tuner, presence from a local SEAT dealer and a detailing company who will do detailing demos and judge the show and shine competition. We also hope to run a wee BBQ there too. Cost to get in will be £10 a head and it will cost £15 to run your car as many times as you want on the 1/4 mile. Any additional driver in that car costs £10. So far we have 50 SEAT's listed as likely to be attending including 5 Leons with over 360bhp, one with 410bhp. It would be good to see you guys there too Cheers, Al http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/showthread.php?p=2802850#post2802850
  5. That certainly does look the business. Shame I will have spent my hard earned on a different car byt then as I can't be bothered to wait.
  6. To be honest I think Skoda will lose customers with this policy of secrecy, me being one. I would buy a MK2 Fabia VRs if I knew when it is being released and its spec of course but as things are, I will instead be looking at a MK2 Leon.
  7. Bump - Any idea which engine it will have? I am at the point of selling and am still wondering what it looks like, its spec and when its on sale....
  8. This is the biggest move to tax & infringe on privacy ever proposed in this Country! Best sell your fast car ASAP as it won't be worth buttons if this happens! No apologies for sending this on...This may not interest you and if it doesn't please simply ignore it - if you're a motorist, read on and do your duty! It was stated on the news that one of the reasons this proposal has been suggested was to raise money for possible road building and improvements to existing roads. It should be noted that all the money currently collected by the DVLA for road fund licences, only 23% - 24% is actually spent on road building and improvements! The government's proposal to introduce road pricing will mean you having to purchase a tracking device for your car and paying a monthly bill to use it. The tracking device will cost about £200 and in a recent study by the BBC the lowest monthly bill was £28 for a rural florist and £194 for a delivery driver. A non working Mum who used the car to take the kids to school paid £86 in one month. On top of this massive increase in tax, you will be tracked. Somebody will know where you are at all times. They will also know how fast you have been going, so even if you accidentally creep over a speed limit you can expect an NIP with your monthly bill. If you care about your freedom and stopping the constant bashing of the car driver, please sign the petition on No 10's new website, sign up here. Also pass this on to as many motorists as you can!! We the undersigned petition the Prime Minister to Scrap the planned vehicle tracking and road pricing policy.
  9. 18 months eh? How about the other models? Also, will the VRs have the 140 or 170TDi or is it still to be decided?
  10. I am looking at getting a new car and would like a Fabia VRS but I know there is a new model coming in the not too far distant future and am not keen on the way the current model looks. Is there any hard and fast information on when the next Fabia will be released and on the technical spec of the VRs - ie will it have the 140PD or 170PD TDi engine? Also, are there any confirmed pictures of it? Thanks, DJH
  11. In particular, this one Seems really cheap. Whats the catch? Is it the same as the cheap manifolds and therefore crap or is it an unturned bargain?!
  12. I have seen pictures of the new Fabia in a magazine and it looks stunning. Anyone got links of it online and anyone know when it hits the roads?
  13. Thanks for the replies folks. Not really committed myself to a budget yet but the lower the better as I recently bought a flat and would like to put some money in to it changing windows, showers etc etc.
  14. Hello peeps Joined up as I am considering an Octavia VRS as my next car and am hoping for some advice on what to look for/avoid and how much to pay. I would like a car still in warranty and which has not seen race tracks.body shops or too many garages/tuning houses. I am also considering a Golf and a Leon. At the moment all I have is a 2005 Yamaha YZF R1 with 200bhp
