  1. That's a lot of money for a 16 year old car even with that mileage.
  2. Got mine. Thanks Karl. Stabbed myself trying to get the old badges off.... Will try again when i get a chance, and have healed! Nice one!

  9. Does anyone remember what happened to the group buy for the FOB Badges? Is that still happening? thanks in advance.
  10. I've read your thread and i too have been having battery issues. I have replaced my battery several times. (Luckily my mate works at a spares shop and just swaps the battery for me.) This does help, but obviously isn't getting to the root of the issue. And now that its esp cold, i've had to help my battery by jump starting it. This has meant that i have to carry a spare battery and jumper cables in the car!!! Its weird because, every 6 weeks or so, more often since its been cold, i have to jump start my car. It just seems that it doesn't have enough ooommppppfff to turn the car over. It just needs a little help. I have an aftermarket radio, amplifier (on a switch). I do not leave any electricals connected. I do not leave the lights on etc. Just getting tired of lugging an extra battery and jumper cables around. any help appreciated.
  11. thanks for that Peter. I have found this one: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MaxiScan-VAG405-CAN-Scanner-Code-Reader-Tool-VAG405-Code-Diagnose-OBD2-Interface-/381000806418?hash=item58b56af012:g:~v8AAOSwaNBUdaOH
  12. I have seen on the Ross Tech site VCDS Lite? http://www.ross-tech.com/vcds-lite/ Has anyone tried this? What device would you recommend?
  13. That looks pretty good. So it basically tells you whats wrong, and then can it fix certain things? Excuse my ignorance. I have had a quick look for the VCDS, and unfortunately i am not able to afford anything near the cost of one of them. Sorry, I should have mentioned that in the earlier post. What about VAG-COM 409.1 OBD2 OBDII KKL VW/Audi/Seat/Skoda Auto Diagnostic Tool USB Cable? I saw it on the same page as http://www.ebay.co.u...YcAAOxySoJTWOC7
  14. Thanks again guys. Which should VCDS unit should i buy? Where can I get one from and price range? Does it need any special requirement ie laptop? Am i right in assuming that it is used in conjunction with a laptop? If so what operating systems will it work with and conversely will not work with? thanks in anticipation of your replies. Pedro
  15. Thanks for the replies. Whilst waiting for my son to.finish his footy practice this morning I decided to make the best use of my time. I disconnected the battery and swapped steering wheels. I hadn't finished (airbag connection) so I drove the car home without the airbag connected. The air bag light came on. I thought that when I did connect the airbag up the light would go.off. I searched the interweb and was confident that I'd found where all the spade connectors should go. I disconnected the battery once again and fitted the air bag. Turned on the car and the light was still on I don't have a vcds..... Maybe its time to invest in one? Thanks
  16. OK, so i connected up the one spade connector (brown wire), the yellow connector connected to the middle fitting above the centre nut, i then "connected" the other spade connector (U shape) to the square hole adjacent to the centre nut. Airbag clicked into place. Now the horn is working, but the airbag light isnt going off? Any ideas or suggestions? thanks in advance. Pedro
  17. Hello there peeps! just needed some help with the airbag part of the fitting. I have fitted the wheel but on the airbag there are two wires with spade type connectors. I can only see one place to connect it and also i assume that this is for the horn? Can anyone shed some more light? Any help appreciated. thanks Pedro
  18. I have seen this on Ebay: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/220446791248?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT Master Seal Any replies appreciated.
  19. That looks pretty good. I just need the steering one as i've already got new style oem badges for front, rear and wheels. TBH from what i've seen/read PastyBoy does a quality job and i'd also rather support a fellow Briskodian. I just need a standard one like the one above - what diff designs are there?
  20. Brilliant thread! Keep it up.
  21. Any idea on the tread amount left on the tyres?
  22. Thanks for the replies guys. Pasty - how much would it be for one new style badge for a MK1 VRS steering wheel? thanks Pedro
  23. Thanks for that. Does that mean I shouldn't stick one over the existing one? Would that impede the functioning of the airbag? I have changed all the other badges, front, rear and on the alloys to the new style and would like the same for the steering wheel. ta Pedro
  24. Hi there Peeps! Where can i get a new style Steering Badge for a VRS steering wheel? Can you get one OEM or does it have to be after market or even custom made? Has anyone replaced their old one for a new style one? Is it an easy mod, considering its on the airbag? thanks for your replies in advance Pedro
