  1. I have had the anti roll bar re bushed and no comment was made about the roll bar being corroded As for wheel bearings there is no noise from them, but could be something to look into, and which steering bush are you refering to the one on the column or the ones on the actual rack as far as the wishbone, I had the rear ones done, but not the front bushes if I remember correctly Also does anyone know if you can replacement bushes for the steering rack
  2. Hi all, I know diagnosis over the web is near impossible, but some of you out there may have had similar issues to myself, first I will start with the car I have, its a 2001, Octavia TDI (110) Elegance. I have recently replaced all my shocks and springs, and the problem existed before this, Also i have new rear wishbone bushes, Flywheel, clutch. When I accelerate (but not hard) i get the feeling that the whole front of the car is Wobbling, but unless i actually steer the car there is no feel of this from the steering wheel, as it does not vibrate or judder (This only seems to happen more noticeable between 40 -65 mph) when turning whilst holding throttle point or accelerating, it feels almost as if the front wheels are hopping slightly. (This happens at slightly different speed range of 30- 50 mph) The car also seems less symptomatic if i turn the ASR off, but this may be in my mind. Any ideas on what may be the cause im all ears Many thanks Dave
  3. Yeah but at £25 a time for new original, or £30 for a bush that is vibrating the car to hell, i want comfort as i spend a lot of time in traffic, unless someone can recomend a softer Polybush kit ill just keep putting on standard
  4. Well i fitted a brand new factory mount and cant believe how much better it is over my polybushed one which was shaking the car to death, shame to loose the extre trottle responce, but when doing high milage drving i prefer my sanity in traffic
  5. I have done 800 miles now with mine, its still vibrating the bonnet, lights, wipers etc, so i am selling the dog mount with all polybushes and then im going to fit a standard one again, with the type of driving its a problem, for people who drive fast there great.
  6. Thankd for the heads up will have a look
  7. Any ideas when you will be fitting yours lol.....
  8. i dont have a picture but from looking while it was on the ramp its behind the steering rack and a bugger to get to
  9. I am refering to peoples comments above and by memory it does apply pressure to the bush, will have to strip it down top check, just remember we went a bit silly tightening it
  10. Sorry if i have misunderstood, are you saying i should fit a superpro? or new OE rubber?
  11. anyone know how tight the 13mm bolt should be, may have ovetightened mine
  12. No the problem is only at idle, no other symptoms
  13. Well the whole steering wheel, it vibrates when stationary, the skoda badge is a slight blur
  14. Does anyone know which of the two will have the most dampening effect, after fitting poly engine mount bushes to the dog bone, i have massive vibes through the steering wheel. i wondered which out of the Powerflex and Superpro is harder and which will dampen the vibrations better many thanks Dave
  15. Also does anyone know if changing the streering bush with the superpro will reduce/ get rid of my steering wheel vibration at idle. as when in town i feel like my hands are going numb, and the skoda badge is a blur
  16. definatly not thick and lasts only about ten seconds, do get a dust cloud when i accelerate hard on the motorwat, but it can only be seen at night when a car behind me, hence lights make it obvious.
  17. No apparant fluid changes, but will monitor after my 200 mile trip this weekend, need to get someone to start car for me for colour/smell, but havent noticed anything since weather warmed up.
  18. Well i have looked at the visual difference, the Super Pro has groves into it and the powerflex doesnt, i am just getting to much vibes from my powerflex, now at 600 miles. I was also wondering when people were talking about torqe setting for the dog bone mount. does anyone have a list of these?
  19. Now i have the red powerflex bush, can anyone tell me which is softer for the TDI powerflex red or Super pro ?
  20. I had mine on for 215 miles and still horrid, you can even see the wiper arms as a blur.... PLease tell me this gets better soon, if it dont stop in the 1000 miles im gonna revert back to standard
  21. Hi, i noticed last week on a windy day, theat when starting the car on a coldish day around 1 degree mark i get smokey start up that lasts about ten seconds is this normal and can it be cured... it doesnt seem to last long at all, so am i just being paranoid???? Many thanks Dave
  22. I have just cleared my limp mode using this, hope it of help to someone. My link Only thing is you dont feel the boost in power they say, but it does run better and rev smoother FYI my TDI has done 130,000 miles and was well worth the money.
  23. If your going to buy them, take time to pre paint the centres and edges, otherwise a few months later they look rusty and crap.... not that i learned the hard way :wonder:
