  1. Can't see a mounting bracket and new bolt being that expensive
  2. Think it well deserves a new one then
  3. Thats the throtttle body, not known to go faulty very often, don't know how much a replacement would be but look very straightforward to change.
  4. Don't see any point in posting a video, you need to do some proper tests with the right equipment or call a garage out to it.
  5. I have the 1.4 tdi roomster cant say I have ever found the noise to be over intrusive, mines coming up to 60,000 on a 57 plate never had any problems.
  6. The correct way to test the pump is to see if the delivery is about one litre a minute, as has been said you can run the pump with vcdsor connect a 12volt supply to it to test. If you have a multi meter that will read current it should take 5 to 6 amps.It is possible to tesr the speed of the pump with a occilloscope and current clamp, this should be about 4200 to 4400rpm.
  7. In a 2013 survey by Warrant Direct VAG engines came 29th out of 35 manufacturers in terms of reliability with Honda being the best, food for thought.
  8. Probably faulty engine coolant temperature sensor
  9. I read xman post regarding testing of injectors with great interestvery good infomation, but word of caution unless you are a very confident and skilled person great care needs to be exercised in that a bad electrical connection could easily start a fire.
  10. If you check the compatibility table on the Ross Tech site fabias up to 2008 use the K line for diagnostics
  11. No vcds won't work on later cars, but early fabias are fine with it. Ross Tech do a compatibility chart of what vesions work with various model's
  12. The gendan cable is muuch better quality than the e bay ones, trust me
  13. Mines a 2007 and it works just fine, fabias roomsters run old systems.
  14. Type GENDAN into google, click on Audi,VW,Skoda tools, the cable is their £19.84. PM is private message
  15. Pappafox The cost of going to main dealer to have a diagnostic scan wont be cheap. Do you have a laptop If the answer is yes, you're can download vcds iite from Ross Tech for free, buy a good quality cable from Gendan for £20. This will enable you to scan the car yourself and see what is putting the light on. VCDS is simple to use to obtain fault codes, the forum would then be able to offer you much more constructive advice. If you decide to follow this route, you could pm me with your phone number and I will talk you thro how ro use Vcds.
  16. Could anybody with vcds in West Yorkshire possibly give Pappafox a little of their time and do a full system scan and post the results on the forum, I feel like crossing the Penines my self.
  17. Welcome to the forum, you need to scan the the car with something like vcds to find the fault
  18. It needs to be scanned with a diagnostic scanner, the fault rectified ana then the light will stay out.
  19. I have to agree with everything xman says, their is little point in asking for advice on a forum unless you provide accurate and relevant information. From what I read so far a comprehensive diagnostic inspection hasn't been carried out, also no mention of a full service being done. The only way forward if pappafox doesn't have the skills and equipment is to trust in a reputable garage or main dealer.
  20. What's the code for your engine and I will check it out for you
  21. They have a spring pulling down on a wedge, you need to shove the wedge back up before you fit the drum.
  22. I think you will find that VAG don't recommend additives, if I had a faulty injector it would be replaced with a new one.
