  1. I will be interested if the stealers mention the Cambelt, if you don't. Mine went in for it's 40000 @ 4yrs and they didn't bother.
  2. The supplying dealer was the one who serviced it at 4yrs old whilst still in warranty. They never mentioned it at all.
  3. Thanks for that Tech1e. I think it may be worth asking the Dealer why they didn't mention it, obviously not on the ball, good to know. I'm sure Skoda UK would not be happy about their slackness. P PS Can anyone recommend a reasonable place (Not a Dealer) to get the cambelt done in the North-East?
  4. I know I have conflicting information in my head about the timings miles v years from various sources. What i need to know is, if it is offical Skoda Policy to be changed at four years now? The reason I ask is that I bought the car at 27000m when it was 3.5years old. It was serviced at 4years old, back in October and the dealer did not mention the timing belt whatsoever. Should the dealer have said anything? The car is now 4.5years old with 38000m and my extended warranty expired last weekend. Is it ok top leave it to 72000m, as per the service book or should it already have been changed??
  5. Got to agree on the tyre pressure issue, I was getting low MPG's a couple of months back and it was down to that. You have a greenline so that will have narrower wheels/tyres anyway, for economy. In my opinion fuels make no difference, well they haven't to me. I'm just hoping it gets warmer soon and the MPG improves when we get rid of the winter diesel!
  6. Hi All, Turned out to be the up/down adjustment motor. Dealers killed it off while I wait for complete headlamp renewal, under warranty thank goodness. New one getting fitted next week
  7. Hi, Yes I have tried adjusting the up/down and it makes no difference to the sound, it's practically constant. However, when i flash between dipped and main beam the noise becomes distorted, which is what lead me to believe it may be the solenoid.
  8. Hi, I've just got a problem with my 1.4(80) TDI. A week ago I noticed a loud 'ticking' that you can hear in the car even with the noisy engine running! I eventually worked out it only happens whn the headlights are on and it's coming from the passenger side headlamp. This car has those module 'projector' type units and I suspect the solenoid. Has anyone had this issue before? Do you think it would be covered by an extended (skoda) warranty? Cheers P
