  1. you can now buy xenon bulbs that you fit to the standard headlights. Not sure of the exact product but i got a freind fitting them to his Furby vRS. Will post when i have the details
  2. I had a prang 3 weeks ago, car didnt stop just hit me. Worked out fine no hastle. Just gave the insurance company the car reg and they told me that the car was insured and that was it.
  3. Maybe this sort of question should be asked of the suppiers of the generic maps charging proces around the custom map proce range! Most of the big remap people seem to charge around the £500 mark. I'v been in contact witha few remap people, all the popular ones on here and some popular on other forums. One has offered me a custom map on the RR for £310+vat, plus he'll throw in a filter for me coming to him. THis is the same price as his generic map. And if i dont like it, he'll remove it and give me my money back. So i got nothing to loose doing this really. My point is this, get some feedback from the forum. You cant beat experiance, but also get some info from the suppiers of the remap. Then you got to make the choice. Unless you got loads of money and can try each map out for a couple of months and then make a choice. Cos i dare say that which ever you choose, you'll be happy.
  4. I have to say your right. I came on here to get information and gain experiance from experiances that other people have been through. After all a car is a large investment, so making the right choices is paramount. I looked into getting my Furby's ECU mapped, and had made the decision until readinf some of the coments and recommendations that people were giving. With all maps its important to relaise that power is great ( something to talk about down the pub) but the real clincher is drivability. No good having all that power if the wheels are constantly spinning or the ride is so jerky that you cant transport milk without it turning to cheese. I made my decision by looking at what everybody said, getting some graphs and contacting the relivent mapping companies and asking some questions. gives you a better picture. I didnt want a map that would burn my clutch out straight away and i wanted the power delivery to be more constant throught the revs, not all at once again drivability. On the note of REVO, when i contacted them about the furby its worth mentioning that they can only do a stage one and uterlise the SPS1 for the TDI. So for anyone thinking of getting stage 2 upgrades this is an important factor when making your choice. This is the info people want not, mine gets xxx BHP. I would suggest that if you cant make your mind up go to a meet and ask some of the people with the remapped cars to take you on a drive so you can get some exposure to the different way that each vendor's map delivers the power.
  5. Actualy think it looks a little like a Alfa
  6. I want one. Only reason i got a Skoda (still awaiting delivery) was to save some money for the Evo 9. Funny thing is after driving my mates and seeing what you can do with the little furby, i dont think i could be bothered. Still, the new Evo is great, changed it's looks completely.
  7. A question from the FAQ's of a tinting company All tinting companies seem to say the same thing
  8. from my understanding only the windscreen has to be untouched by tinting ( except for the first 10cm that can act as a sun sheald), the front windows can only be 30% tinted as the law states that 70% light must be allowed through. As for the back window and the rear side windows, ask your self if its illegal to have them tinted how can a transit van have no rear window and side windows? or even the astra van's. as long as you have wing mirrors that are not damaged you dont have to use the interior mirror, so i i was you id go down to your local C.A.B and get some advice.
  9. OK, I want to change my Fabias original exhaust for an exhaust that offeres more performance, and dont have a clue what makes are good or what to look for. I got a decent budget so...... Not stupid though!! I'm getting a custom remap done and want to upgrade some things before i have the mapping done. Give me some feedback please, want it to look good as well. thanks in advance. 10. There great, Dont have the HP but i do have a Pocket PC running 5. The sound is load enough not to put you off and i find it extremely accurate. I dont us it so much now as i have TomTom Mobile 5 on my nokia. Same solution just means i dont have to take the pda with me as i always have the phone. -----
  11. have you tried confused dot com they got my insurance on the last car down by
  12. I got the Cannon A85. Great camera, colour are realistic and the pictures are great. Would recommend this camera. Cant really say about the others.
  13. I have no issues telling the insurance company, thats not what concerns me. I would be more interested in hiding it so warrenty work can be done without them claiming that its the MODs that have caused it, which it could be, but most likely not.
  14. Mate I'm currently in the same boat as you, i want he remap but unsure who to go with. Got it down to Revo or Custom code. Talking to revo i got the following when they replyed to my 'is it detectable' question Custom code told me that its not east to detect, and dealers generaly cant find it ( if the dealer map is loaded). Also dealers get a lot of money from warrenty work so some can be helpful. Still, i cant make up my mind as to which way to go as they both offer 170ish BHP and are similarly prices. One difference is that the custom code people offer stage 2 and 3 upgrades where revo dont on the deisel engine. Revo also only offer sps1 on the deisel. Hope this helps, Rob
  15. is there not a mod out there that allos you to switch the contents of the ecu. ie load the original ecu settings or load the performance settings
  16. OK, I get my fabia soon and want to play with it! I got information on the best time to do this (miles wise (how many)) and got a good assortmant of answers. I dont really wan to loose my warranty, but i do want to have the car ecu remapped. What to do? My mate has a Accord Type-R and is getting the ECU remapped from here. These ECU simply plug in and they get remapped not the factory ECU. This should enable me to keep my warrenty as it can be removed once the service is due. ld be goo Question is does anyone know if these boys do reprogrammable ECU's for the Furby vRS, or know anywhere else that does? I have emailed them but no responce yet :( . I know you can get the pre-programmed ones but i want one that can have a custom remap to take into account any other mods on the car (filter, air intake, exhaust, etc.). Any advice would be good. Rob
  17. I have to wait another 6 weeks for mine :( But i got it new off the Internet with over
  18. I have tomtom mobile 5 on my nokia and tomtom 5 on my PDA. use bluetooth GPS device and it works great. Got the europe maps on the PDA version. Got them at real discounted price too. Infact the price was so good i couldnt post it in the forum, youll have to PM me. Rob
  19. The mrs getts Andrex. My view is as long as its not like school toilet tissue or army surplus its ok. I mean your only wipping your ****!!!!
  20. LOL i like that! Ok guys, thanks for your advice. think ive decided to go for the option of 10-16k or the first year just to see if i get any issues. Was thinking of going to the garage and saying what i planned and asking them if they would honour the warrenty. In return id get all services done there. you know you scratch my back and all that. Rob
  21. I thought that they were unable to tell that the ECU had been remapped? ( dont know how true this is?) I'd rather not loose the warrenty but, if i wasnt bothered, how long? 3 yrs is a long time to wait. Rob
  22. You get the ecu remapped? Ive ordered my Furby vRS and should be getting it within 6 long weeks. I have big plans for the car~ suspension, wheels, brakes, ICE, etc but how many miles before you get the ECU mapped or chip the car. Ive heard it doesnt matter, then some people say anywhere between 2k and 10k. Some advice please.... ItsOnlyMe
