  1. Trades ins at the end of the month doesn't really happen they just come in. From the dealer perspective you do get some silly offers from customers, you will also find if you use the autotrader valuation tool it's not always accurate, it's optimistic some times both in over valuing and under valuing cars. every enquiry should be responded to within 24 hours and if a car is sold then just a quick email to say so helps, at least that way customers know the email has got through and they are not being ignored. We will also send videos by what's app and any specific pictures of the car. There are some good dealers out there and some bad, it's just like everything else in life.
  2. It's a shame jabba are taking so long, I live reasonably close to them and they always look after our tt, I've tried contacting them but it's almost impossible to get them, I'm not the only one either.
  3. I have a witter zx200 bike rack, granted I don't use it on a yeti bu it sat on the back of a 206 very easy. I'd rather have the bikes on the bak than stuck inside.
  4. It would have been good if they added a 2wd yeti on summer tyres, then we could have seen the differences in braking and steering
  5. if its out of warranty try Jabbasport (if mine was in warranty i'd still go there)
  6. Not got one that high yet, I think 50k is the highest we have but it's only a year and half old. No problems as of yet.
  7. Seems a strange one not bringing the 1.8 to the uk. Audi use it and seat are putting it in the new Leon. Going on looks I think I would take the new Leon over the Octavia
  8. Jetex are underrated and offer favoured by milltek, but I had a mild steel system ages ago and quality and fit was perfect, it even survived someone running into the back of it and squashing the exhaust.
  9. Is there any improvement in noise ? I'd like the noise of the cat back but with the improvement in performance sports cat gives
  10. See if you can get someone to read for fault codes, but battery springs to mind. Either the cold weather is killing it or a wire could be loose so check all of the connections.
  11. Both my cars are serviced yearly, I've never been a fan of long life. Renault and pug/Citroen have recently announced that services will revert to yearly or a set mileage.
  12. Check the tyre pressures too, and also the air filter is clean
  13. I think the old 1.9 tdi is more economical, I wouldn't mind betting the 2.0 tdi would be low 30's. My a3 tdi would average 37 on my daily commute, the cupra averages 27/8 mpg
  14. Since the tensioner isn't classed as a service part then I wouldn't expect it to fail given the nature of its job. I can understand them throwing out the case on a tfsi for not having the tensioner replaced. Since they are on the third design of tensioner it must mean they have an issue, the consequences of a failed coil pack are bearable but on a tensioner... Not really acceptable. Still it's how you are dealt with, if the engine goes bang and it's replaced without question then I'd accept that over being told to get stuffed which seems to be suk's response.
  15. I thought it was the dealer telling you porkies ? Still at least you have it back. Is the new engine any better than the original ?
  16. It looks like somebody has squeezed a teenagers face when I drain my tank.
  17. I have had mine on the cupra for 2/3 years, I've never had any issues and have no blue smoke
  18. Not a vrs but my cupra averages 26/28 on short trips, mine too is on short services. Only thing to watch out for is the cam tensioner
  19. There doesn't appear to be many instances of this happening with the golf gti or the seat Leon fr it only seems to be on here where a few have gone bang. It is quite scary and one thing that is putting me off the vrs.
  20. Summer is 8 months away .... You could get and indi to change the oil, I'd be tempted to give the engine a quick flush too. So engine flush, drain then run it on some cheap oil then drain and fill with the good stuff. I'd rather spend £100 on oil rather than run the risk of the hg failing. I sold my 206 run around because the hg had started to go, it wasn't a difficult job but by the time you have stripped it down it would be in the region of £300 on a vrs it wouldn't be as easy or cheap. You said yourself you don't like cutting corners so don't start now
  21. Yes it is, your going to change £50 worth of oil and not bother with a £5 oil filter ? It's the filter that drags the crap out so I would certainly change it.
  22. As far as I'm aware you can take the car where you want, they will need a quote and have to agree to it but that shouldn't be a problem. However, when it goes wrong your are on your own. I found this out to my cost when wanting our repair on our puma done at a ford garage, the assessor agreed with me but said because you chose a non approved bodyshop it's down to you to sort. Paintwork is one thing I don't skimp on, good bodyshops charge a bit more but it's right first time
