  1. right, ive just been out to the car with my laptop to log the maf. ive logged it just sitting still and holding the revs at 3000rpm and then driving the car in 3rd from tickover to 3000rpm then 3000rpm to 4500rpm. can anybody make any sense of the log and tell me if anything is wrong? maf driving.csv 1.23K 0 downloads maf.csv 2.1K 0 downloads Thanks

  3. the maf could be a possibility! its sounding most likely with what your describing your car was doing and when my turbo went it spat alot of the turbo back into the air filter so it would of have to pass this sensor. the was a good chunk of turbo that got stuck in all the sensor housing. think ill have a play in a minute with the vagcom and see what i get. fingers crossed!!!
  4. yeah white is fuel or water. i cant see the map thats on the car being the cause for this smoke, i know it wont be helping but its alot of smoke coming out and other than that the car is running good. im going to check a few things that i can myself and if i get no luck ill pay my local vw specialist to have a crack at it.
  5. ahh ill check the pcv 2morow as ive had all this on and off a few times, and me and a mate done all the work on the car. (he's a fully qaulified technition) i replaced the oil feel and return and we did prime the turbo correctly. ive had a few people say the vacuum pipes, doesnt make a difference what i do with them so im ruling them out. car is perfect on the compression test, possible injector? maybe? does anybody know if there is a way to check the volume the injectors are injecting? i know on toyotas its possible with the tester (im a toyota service advisor) and you can see if there injecting to much or to little fuel. ive only done about 60miles in the car since putting it all back together and its not used any oil or water in that time. i know its not very far but its exactly bang on where they where when i started the car for the first time. somebody has also said to check the maf sensor but again how do you check that? i have vagcom light on my laptop so i can read the figures and codes but cant adjust anything.   6. little smoke on idle but boost is fine, car runs pretty well considering its not mapped yet. it mainly smoke when you put your foot on the accelerator i.e. when you change gear and press it again it gives a massive puff then or when you rev it while idling. which sensor is the maf? is that the one in the boost pipe behind the headlamp? and also how do i test this? i have vag com light on this laptop so i can look at figures, i just cant adjust anything.   7. runs absoluterly fine other than the smoke. and whats a pcv valve?
  8. it smells like a old truck from the fairground! and yeah it smashed to peices but it all got caught in the intercooler and spat some back into the air filter. no metal in the oil and nothing in the oil filter and it was absoluterly perfect of a compression test.
  9. i recently popped my standard kkk turbo on my fabia so ive bought a 150pd hybrid. ive done compressions tests and all is ok, the car isnt using any oil or using any water but it is chucking out loads of white smoke when decelerating or when pulling off and changing gear. now my car isnt mapped yet to run this turbo but it has a awesome gti generic map on at the moment but i cant see this being the cause for my smoke screen! just waiting for somebody to pop out and say "TONIGHT MATTHEW, IM GOING TO BE!" At the same time as the new turbo i fitted a egr delete and removed the anti stutter valve aswel. does anybody have any ideas on what could be causing this? makes me want to take a lighter and a can of petrol to the stupid thing!!!   10. what i dont understand is the car was running perfectly before it popped the turbo. am i right in thinking the map wouldnt be causing this problem?
  11. youve removed the dpf. this is what catches the black smoke so if it didnt smoke now i would be worried!
  12. i got the tiniest little bit of smoke out the back, i was doing about 115mph when it went but my car wouldnt start after that because the turbo locked solid as the cold side of the turbo shattered. since fitting the new turbo it started perfectly and runs perfectly just smokes :(
  13. no oil went into the exhaust, it all went through the pipework. i cleaned it all out in a parafin parts bath in work. and cleaned the intercooler out with the jetwash and air lines to blow all the water out. it all was sat for over a week before being put back on so im pretty sure there wouldnt be any water left in the intercooler. i dont know what to do with it now.

  15. have you managed to find out whats causing your problem? ive just put a pd150 hybrid on my car and now mine is smoking like you wouldnt beleive. mine isnt mapped yet but i dont think a map could cause the amount of smoke im getting.
  16. fitted my turbo today and the car started and runs on tickover perfectly. the second the revs are lifted from tickover its piles out grey/white smoke out the exhaust. does anybody have any thoughts on what could be causing this?

  18. i fitted a pd150 hybrid on my fabia yesterday and all was going well until i tried to put the boost pipe from the turbo to the intercooler. the garrat turbo sits more towards the driver side than the kkk i did have and my standard pipe work wont fit because its pushed right up against the body. does anybody know of a pipe kit that can be bought for this? im desperate for one to get this bloody car back on the road and stop driving my works little toyota aygo's as soon as possible! lol Thanks!
  19. im pretty sure you can fit a 150hybrid on a blt engine. theres loads of people on here that have done that. if its a problem fitting due to egr delete then just by a delete kit.
  20. ahhh, i cant try that. its off the road at the moment in peices because the turbo gave up. i suppose ill know the difference when i build it back up with the delete in a few days.
  21. ive just recently bought a allard egr delete for my vrs but looking on here some people are for keeping the anti shudder valve and others are all for removing it. just wondering whats the good and bad points of removing/keeping the anti shudder valve? Thanks

  23. dan when you come and met me mine has a full miltek, definatly worth the money and i bought mine from awesomes open day last year for just over £400. its worth it!
  24. a panel filter wont do any damage to your turbo. can only help as it should be getting air easier.
  25. i bought this map from awesome but payed £200 about a year ago, ive not has a single problem since getting it and would definatly recommend getting it for £150. my car has been on a rolling road and made 179.10bhp and 290.01ft lbs of torque. i drive my car hard (really hard :p daily) and my flywheel has been fine. definatly worth the money for that map! and my power curve is good, no spikes or anything like that, i had it rolling roaded at another smaller tuning company and they couldn't fault my map at all.
