Ok thanks Guys... Will check voltage on battery / alternator this morning before collecting... It's done 95k miles... Ten stamps and cambelt done 2k miles ago. It doesnt breathe too heavily just a little fumes when pop the oil cap off. Did view another VRS as well and that was the same... My Brother has an Audi A3 with same engine and that also does the same... So should be fine!

Hi All, Just been to look at a 2005 Fabia VRS in Black Magic and have agreed to purchase. Mechanically it seems sound with a good full service history file, cambelt change, etc although needs some cosmetic TLC in the form of a few parking dings and scratches... can sort that myself no problem (Pro Detailer) but two things I wanted to check with you: 1. Is it normal for these engines to breath quite heavily from the oil cap / dipstick when running? 2. The battery light occasionally flashes under hard acceleration ... any ideas what it could be? Car drives perfectly and feels tight and responsive ... I've agreed a price of £4000 for it. Does this seem reasonable? Cheers!

Hi All, Thought would pop in and introduce myself as no doubt I will soon be calling on your fountain of knowledge! I have just agreed to buy a 2005 Fabia VRS in Black Magic which we collect tomorrow... the car is for the Wife but no doubt I will be using it myself occasionally! Cheers, Scott
