  1. Hi All, l have cleaned my rear drum brakes, but my adjustment wedge are completely seized. I have carefully sprayed some lithium grease to try and free it up. I think one side is a lot worst. Unfortunately it still seized and I'm trying not to go down the route of stripping it down. It has also affected my handbrake adjustment as shown in the picture. Is there other ways to loosen it up without stripping it. Thanks
  2. Thanks all. Luckily I picked up a Parkside Cordless angle grinder from my local Lidl for £25.
  3. I have a bugger of a nut from one of my anti roll bar link. I have tried mole grip, saw, and it's not bulging. unfortunately I have broken most of it, which makes the nut spin and hard to cut off. What do you recommend I use for the bugger, die or angle gridder? Thanks
  4. please can anyone recommend an honest clutch specialist in London area. No offence to anyone but from my previous experiences, it's hard to find one which is the main reason l have started doing minor repairs myself. My low cost Fabia 1.2 HTP runner has now done 82k Miles on orignal clutch. The clutch is now getting hand to engage. I adjusted gear linkage and changed oil couple of years ago, so I think it's time to change the Clutch. Has anyone done this recently and how much did it cost? Thanks
  5. Hi all, please can someone confirm what is the red dot on one end of Meyle HD Drop Link for? I was about to replace the old one but wondering if its to do with what end goes on top or bottom if this makes sense.
  6. Hi all, Thought I'd start this thread, as I was surprised to be quoted the above 5 year rule by an online retailer after enquiring age of tyres am looking at buying. I was told that, a tyre is good on a car up to ten years and all tyre manufacturers say this: Tyre Safety: 5 Year Rule Tyres are considered to be “new” and fit for retail up to 5 years from the date of production. This is an industry standard based on the German BRV. I am currently looking at replacing all four of my tyres, due to their age (8 years old) and showing signs of it too - hard ride, hairline cracks now showing. The treads depth are absolutely fine, as I mostly do less than 1000 miles or less a year. I am not sure about being sold a tyre that is nearly 5 years old. What are other peoples' opinions and experiences?
