When living in the UK I was lucky enough to do contract work for many VW group dealers who would provide me with company cars such as the SEAT Leon Cupra R, Alhambra, VW Golf Gti, Passat, Eos, various Audis and a string of Skoda Octavias and Superbs. I liked them so much that the Missus (aka The Boss in Australia) nearly always had something from the same stable, usually diesel, the last of which was a lovely Superb Elegance 2.5 Tdi which was even lovelier when it had a bit of chippery done to it.
So after a few years in Oz of messing about with a 300bhp MX5, and not being able to buy an Alhambra here, I've at last got myself back into a Skoda - an ex Skoda Australia management Superb Elegance 2.0 Tdi 125kW/170bhp DSG Wagon with 18s, sports suspension, flappy paddle sports steering wheel and some clever electrics and electronics that I haven't got my head round yet. It's in the Skoda house colour - dark green metallic. The colour and the tax breaks for the low fuel consumption also suit my "Greenie" work in sales of solar electricity and hot water. The poor unsuspecting thing doesn't know it yet, but it's about to get signwritten. This will not look exactly Elegant, but it will be effective in promoting the business.
