  1. I'll be interested to see what you think. Make sure you disable the voice alerts on the Tx/Rx as it might speak when your cans pair every time! I couldn't justify a set of really expensive headphones for work, as they'd be bust inside a year probably :(
  2. Btw your B&Os support APTX (as you probably already know) and are a very, very, very nice pair of cans (which you will definitely know) They are Bluetooth 4.2 which won't be a problem at all in your house if you are using a decent Bluetooth Tx'er
  3. I've just bought the Senny 450BTs on Amazon Got a job I can use them on coming up soon I have a pair of Aventree Headphones that are class 1 and APTX LL (now discontinued by Aventree I think) that I use quite a bit as they are fine for speech, and also a pair of Senny 4.5s but they don't support LL or Class 1. My home cans are Bose QCs but although light and reasonable sounding, they don't support APTX and are class 2. My work cans when using wired headphones are Senny HD25s, which are rugged and easy to get replacement bits for. I also have various earbuds too. I get through a lot of headphones
  4. Just looking through available products and I see the Sennheiser HD450s look good value as they are Bluetooth 5, Class 1 (12.5mw tx power so reasonable) and has the APTX codecs onboard. I'm now thinking of buying them myself https://assets.sennheiser.com/global-downloads/file/14806/HD_458BT_Manual_EN.pdf https://www.amazon.co.uk/Sennheiser-Wireless-Headphones-active-cancellation-Black/dp/B083T4XJDY/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=Sennheiser+HD+450BT&qid=1607438633&s=instant-video&sr=1-1
  5. A bit late to this post but I use Bluetooth transmitters a lot at work. I'd recommend (assuming you haven't got around to buying one already) buying a class 1 Tx which supports APTX LL (Low Latency) APTX is a great for quality and if your Rx device supports LL as well, then you get less than 40ms delay in the transmitted sound so you can watch tv without any major sync issues with audio. Class 1 Tx isn't so important but it does give a greatly enhanced broadcast range if you have appropriate receiving gear. As the headphones/earbuds have to 'handshake' with the Tx device, they will also need to be class 1 to get the best of the potentially enhance range. Most Bluetooth devices are class 2 which is fine for line of sight and the latest Bluetooth 5 spec improves stability a little bit. Currently, I mainly use an Aventree class1 Tx device which supports APTX LL/HD along with other codecs etc. I listen on either an appropriate pair of headphones or use Mee in-ear buds which have a Bluetooth adapter that fits directly to the buds and gives me LL capabilities. You can also buy cheap little hockey puck looking devices that are APTX LL/HD and you can then plug your headphone/earbuds into. Aventree Tx/Rx class 1 APTX LL/HD - that also has fibre optic i/p https://www.amazon.co.uk/Avantree-Bluetooth-Transmitter-Receiver-Wireless-Black/dp/B07BQYYDNJ/ref=sr_1_8?dchild=1&keywords=avantree+tx&qid=1607436366&sr=8-8 Mee Bluetooth 5 APTX LL earbud adapter (these are for Mee earbuds but other similar models are available for different manufacturers earbuds) https://www.amazon.co.uk/MEE-Bluetooth-Wireless-adapter-monitors/dp/B07TN2HJYH/ref=sr_1_4?dchild=1&keywords=mee+bluetooth+adapter&qid=1607436701&sr=8-4 Here is a handy APTX guide to what is available. If you don't need LL or Class 1 range, I'd still recommend going for APTX devices for the improved quality available with their various codecs. https://www.aptx.com/product-listing
  6. Hello, don't worry about your English, it's better than mine I reckon and I am a native of these isles
  7. Funnily enough the light shadow and seat belt just to the left of the Kiwi sticker looks a bit like.........a KIWI! At least to my eyes
  8. Love the pictures, only way to make them better would be to add a baby Kiwi (fluffy type) in there somewhere
  9. I think we might be about to enter into a world of car designers trying to outdo each other with shock value
  10. I enjoyed the Tiff and Paul show, although I hope they don't start with too much lampooning about and staged scenarios. I guess they have to do a little play acting just to set the scene up, but it can so easily stray into that Top Gear thing of trying too hard to have a good time. Not watched the Worlds Greatest Cars thing yet. Was the latest one about old hot hatches or just the current crop?
  11. I am of the opinion that most Briskodians will be more than accomplished enough, in their general erudition and education, to successfully endeavour in construing your verbiage correctly during a causal perusal Or put another way, we are not thick
  12. Btw, anyone who thinks the next gen M3/4 is funny looking, I hope you are seated before viewing this next Mercedes masterpiece!!!!!
  13. Do you ever wonder if you should have replaced the entire wiring loom and similar or at least have done it in one go instead of bit by bit as you are now
  14. I expect the M3 to be easier to get out of in supermarkets as it's doors are shorter.
  15. I didn't think he looked that short when he did his piece on the Leaf.
  16. Penny Malory and Jason Dawe were really good presenters. Never see them nowadays :(
  17. Nope I know who Paul Woodman is as I've watched him and Tiff on my 'pooter, the young bloke that did the electric feature is Sid North. Found this on Yuutoob, he looks a handy driver too
  18. I've just recently started to watch his channel and enjoy the interviews. I hope he does one with Steve Sutcliffe (C Harris mentions his driving prowess) as I rate him very very highly as a talented driver. It was also refreshing to hear that Mr Harris reckons his mum was the quick 'peddler' of the family
  19. I've set my SKY planner to record the 'On the road' series I like the new presenter too, Sid North I think is his name? The show is a bit like Fifth Gear with all the nonsense removed, or at least most of it removed They just need to sort their video out
  20. Just watched 'On the road' with Mr Noodles. Quite enjoyed it. it didn't have anyone pretending they had converted a bread van into an intercontinental ballistic missile that could herd sheep. Only Tiff's rather fake laugh grates a little, but he has always done that, so I forgive him It seems a car show about....er, cars very like their YouToob shows I did notice that some of the show was rather jerky in places as it looked like it was suffering from dropped frames. Perhaps some of the shots were recorded in an incompatible frame rate? Surprised it got through quality control though to be honest.
  21. I found this on 'tinerweb. You can see roughly what my old thermostat backplate looked like, although this one is couple up to another device as you can see by the double wired connectors. You can also see the red link wire to feed a 'live' voltage to the traveller on connector'1' has been added and you can also see the call for heat on connector '3' Simply snap the receiver over the top of this backplate and it's done. No more wiring needed.
  22. The receiver is nothing but a switch and as I have said, I only have a single switch requirement as I have a combi boiler so no need for preheating of water. My boiler no longer uses a timer and is left permanently on. The timer function of the programmer is taken over by Hive in the cyberspacewebthingumygig. So the switch (receiver) only has to receive a signal to tell it to turn the boiler on or off. Our systems have been fitted differently. I assume you have either an immersion tank or had a different sort of thermostat to the old school one I've mentioned
  23. This is similar to mine (apart from mine was the other way up). It's the backplate for the original thermostat. You can see someone has added the live link to the traveller. Can't swear that the connections are exactly the same without opening mine up again
