  1. My Octavia 1.6 tdi 4x4 has developed a very rough acceleration only happens when over 2k rpm and especially when underload (car full or heading uphill) in 5th or 6th. It’s fine in 1st 2nd and 3rd. No misfire or juddering, just the whole car vibrates and feels rough, when not accelerating and just maintaining speed it’s as smooth as ever. Any ideas?

    Thank you.

  2. Because they’ve done a basic diagnosis and came up with the ecu at fault which isn’t anything to do with the fix, Skoda won’t pay for it. Instead I have to. It’s sounds rather odd to me. I may try ringing up Skoda on Monday, in the mean time I’ve told them to go ahead with the diagnosis and see where we stand with what’s wrong with it. Having been without the car for 9 days now I just want it back.

  3. Hi,

my 12 plate 1.6tdi 4x4 broke down a couple of weeks ago, it was running fine on the motorway then it started to misfire, once, then twice, then quite a large misfire and the heater plug started flashing. Car then went into limp mode so I had to crawl across the motorway to the hard shoulder. As I had my 4 year old in the back I wasn’t keen on staying there long so I quickly read the fault code 09775 then reset it and off we drove fine. Car misfired a couple more times randomly on the way back from Manchester and then the next day seemed to run fine and did so for two weeks. It’s had the emissions fix by VW about 10k ago so I thought ERG valve.

The day before the car went into the dealer a front spring snapped so it’s had that done as well. However, after having the car for 8 days they’ve diagnosed it as a ECM/ECU fault and wat £208 to properly diagnose it. What’s everyone’s thoughts on this? Anyone had similar issues? They’ve given me a very nice brand new, never driven before Laurin and Klement estate to run about it and so far I’ve put 600 miles on it but I just want my car back.

    cheers.

  4. Go and do it, you'll enjoy it! My advice is get as close to Keswick as you can. You can hire kayaks etc at derwent marina and rowboats on derwent water foreshore. Keswick also has loads to do, i.e. Decent pubs for food and drinks, loads of good walks and a few bike hire shops, also just outside Keswick is whinlatter which has decent mountain bike trails. Most decent camp sites have full wash facilities.

I'm less than 20 miles from Keswick so if you need a hand with anything just give me a shout.

    * On January 20th, 2017, DT ordered all regulatory powers of all federal agencies frozen.
    * On January 20th, 2017, DT ordered the National Parks Service to stop using social media after reweeting factual, side-by-side photos of the crowds for the 2009 and 2017 inaugurations.
    * On January 21st, 2017, DT brought a group of 40 staffers and followers to a meeting with the CIA to cheer for him during a speech that consisted almost entirely of framing himself as the victim of dishonest press.
    * On January 21, 2017, DT personally phoned National Park Service director Michael T. Reynolds and ordered him to produce additional photographs of the previous day’s crowds on the Mall, in order to show that the media had lied in reporting attendance had been no better than average.
    * On January 21st, 2017, White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer held a press conference largely to attack the press for accurately reporting the size of attendance at the inaugural festivities, saying that the inauguration had the largest audience of any in history, “period.”
    * On January 22nd, 2017, White House advisor Kellyann Conway defended Spicer’s lies as “alternative facts” on national television news.
    * On January 22nd, 2017, DT appeared to blow a kiss to director James Comey during a meeting with the FBI, and then opened his arms in a gesture of strange, paternal affection, before hugging him with a pat on the back.
    * On January 23rd, 2017, DT reinstated the global gag order, which defunds international organizations that even mention abortion as a medical option.
    * On January 23rd, 2017, Spicer said that the US will not tolerate China’s expansion onto islands in the South China Sea, essentially threatening war with China.
    * On January 23rd, 2017, DT repeated the lie that 3-5 million people voted “illegally” thus costing him the popular vote.
    * On January 24th, 2017, Spicer reiterated the lie that 3-5 million people voted “illegally” thus costing DT the popular vote.
    * On January 24th, 2017, DT tweeted a picture from his personal Twitter account of a photo he said depicts the crowd at his inauguration and will hang in the White House press room. The photo is curiously dated January 21st, 2017, the day after the inauguration and the day of the Women’s March, the largest inauguration related protest in history.
    * On January 24th, 2017, the EPA was ordered to stop communicating with the public through social media or the press and to freeze all grants and contracts. EPA scientists were ordered to stop publishing their data unless cleared with DT transition personnel.
    * On January 24th, 2017, the USDA was ordered to stop communicating with the public through social media or the press and to stop publishing any papers or research. All communication with the press would also have to be authorized and vetted by the White House.
    * On January 24th, 2017, HR7, a bill that would prohibit federal funding not only to abortion service providers, but to any insurance coverage, including Medicaid, that provides abortion coverage, went to the floor of the House for a vote.
    * On January 24th, 2017, Director of the Department of Health and Human Service nominee Tom Price characterized federal guidelines on transgender equality as “absurd.”
    * On January 24th, 2017, DT ordered the resumption of construction on the Dakota Access Pipeline, while the North Dakota state congress considers a bill that would legalize hitting and killing protestors with cars if they are on roadways.
    * On January 24, 2017, DT’s director of strategy, Steven Bannon, said “the media should be embarrassed and humiliated and keep its mouth shut and just listen for a while. The media here is the opposition party. They don’t understand this country.”
    * On January 25, 2017, DT signed an executive order to begin building a wall along the U.S.-Mexican border that would cost an estimated $20 billion to $35 billon, and insisted Mexico would pay for it.
*On January 25, 2017, DT tweeted “If Mexico is unwilling to pay for the badly needed wall, then it would be better to cancel the upcoming meeting” with Mexican president President Peña Nieto.
    * On January 25, 2017, Mexican president President Peña Nieto cancelled his meeting with DT.
    * On January 25, 2017, DT said he thought torturing terrorism suspects was justified. “Do I feel it works? Absolutely, I feel it works,” he told ABC News.

    * On January 27, 2017, DT established a religious test for refugees from Muslim nations, ordering that Christians and others from minority religions be granted priority over Muslims.

I've been oblivious  to the recent changes in America but I've seen news reports today and social media posts regarding the ban on muslims from certain countries. How on earth can this be going on? It's mental! Reading the above things he's done (if all true) this could seriously start conflicts.

I found his statement about forgetting the ban he was quitting very interesting... noone mentioned a ban at any stage in this or any other thread that ive seen.

Tbh im surprised he stayed as long as he had given the amount of times hed been proven wrong/innaccurate in sweeping statements and generalisations with nothing to substantiate any claims.. id like to think id either learn to find the supporting evidence for my wild claim or just stop offering myself on the alter...

    Anyway... back on topic,

ANDY that train is pathetic :notme:

Ive just noticed this thread and GG leaving. My new year resolution was to count up and estimate how old he must be with all the jobs he had, injuries, incidents even arrests for sexual offences he'd been subject to, must be at least 100 years old to have had such an eventful life.

  7. I started out as admin office work in local borough council, then got moved into printing and graphics (did ten years in print and graphic design) then the last year in IT at the council due to mergers. Decided with budget cuts it was time to move on to the police, currently have six years service as a armed response officer. I'd go back to office work tomorrow though. I feel I miss so much time with my wife and child working 12hour shifts.

  8. It's up to and including 3.5t. I doubt you'll ever get any camper van that is exactly 3500KG so it's acedemic. As for the trailer, you can tow a 750KG trailer if over 3.5t or any vehicle and trailer weight as along as it doesn't go over 3.5t. So on a 97-13 licence you can tow a 1.5t trailer with a 2t car.

  9. it's a cheek to say they are British, when 90% of the boats components and systems are made by overseas countries; about the most British thing on board when they are launched WILL probably be the tea bags (made in Germany from Indian tea)

They're made in BAE systems in Barrow, in the best county of the UK. They are British as they can be, just as the aircraft carriers, HMS QUEEN ELIZABETH II and HMS PRINCE OF WALES. Good to see you belittling the Mer Majesty's Royal Navy. They might lob something more than just tea bags since HMS Conqueror is the only nuclear powered attack sub to launch torpedos in anger and sunk its target. Also built in Britain, sadly not in barrow though.
