Ah right well I'm expecting the worst anyway but like I said as soon as I know I will let you all know. You know what they say, if something brakes replace it with uprated parts ;-) If it's nackered it just seems like an opportunity to me -

Just spoke to my mate he recons the bearings arnt a big issue his was a bit noisy on his impreza for years, and as for the smoke it's just fuel because it's not boosting the car is just chucking fuel in so still waiting on outcome -
I forgot to add this would include all piping apart from the one from sensor to inlet manifold but standard one will fit!

Right here we go! Had a problem with a boost leak (loud) so took front bumper apart took intercooler apart, pancake pipe, all too turbo hosed, dv hoses literally every possible hose I could find and found the big 90 degree elbo from the turbo split, so replaced that. Problem solved I thought, whent to drive it then It sounded like the dv was constantly blowing off as soon as I hit and boost atall, Then boost gauge wouldn't go above 0 atall in any gear, any revs. Called aa out as I pay for it so why not, he diagnosed it as my wastegate isn't moving at all so sticky wastegate and said I have noisy turbo bearings you can here them after you turn engine off. Then......... On the way home stopped at lights and a massive cloud of white smoke came past the car strong oil smell. All from a split pipe so booked in my mates garage on Monday. Morale of the story, free the wastegate strong chance of turbo rebuild and all oil feed pipes.

Ah maybe then I just extended it and put it in haha I'll have a look see if iv done anything wrong
-
Place of birth and car . That's all!!
-
Ah funny you should say that I only replaced that last week maybe it's faulty :-(

Obviously I had the misfire I did all the vacuum lines, plugs, coil packs, uprated most of the standard piping which needed doing, That reminds me bo***cks I was meant to send Clive a picture of fuel pump, well reminded Dave thanks haha

Well I apologise I'm glancing at the gauge when driving it must look closer too 2bar than it is so 1.7is fine? I didn't realise it was mapped so long ago. Also it has defi gauges and the peak is at 2bar unless someone just did it once then turned it back down but me just reading the gauge wrong no one said it should be running that. Yes iv heard bens maps are one of the best! So then now that's sorted haha I need to work out this problem of limiting its self too 0.6 every now and again from what Iv been told I'm led to believe either n75 or map sensor?
-
Ok thanks
-
Someone at Combe said maybe because of the pancake pipe they have run a lot of boost to compensate but I take it unless I get it mapped again I can't turn it down?
-
http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=aojOtTd-zSc Clive if you can have a look you can see the 2 bar boost gauge just so people don't think I'm lying
-
Oh great!!!! I don't really understand because I spoke to Dave upton who built it and it's been running that since 2002 so even with all forged internals it's too much? To be fair seeing as my mates 480bhp impreza was running 2bar I was thinking wtf it seems hell of a lot any chance of the defi gauge reading wrong?
-
That's what it was running when I bought it freshly mapped by shark well I lie it was about 1.9bar, I also thought that was pretty high??
-
Typical iv lent my code reader out bit as soon as I get it back I'll read the codes. As for the map sensor I hope not it has a custom tip I wouldn't know where to start getting a new one

Right I'm gonna call this car karma! Lol I must of done something bad. Got the misfire problem sorted now I have boost issues. The car runs fine then every so often it holds back boosts about 1.5 bar instead of 2 bar. Then as from yesterday twice it's stuck at 0.6 bar all the way through the rev range of I let of and put my foot back on the throttle it seems to sort its self. Any ideas. Karma seems to be keeping everyone's brains busy in this site I tell you!! Haha. I was thinking maybe n75 valve? I did some research and spoke to a previous owner he said he put an ecs n75 one on there to stop it boost spiking. And ideas would be appreciated as usual :-) Thanks guys
