  1. Oh ok, so it's not a production year thing then?
  2. I keep reading about people doing the EGR delete mod but im curious as to what this does. Presumably it stops the exhaust gas recirculating back into the engine but what are the benefits to bypassing it?? Will it improve power or MPG? Thanks for this great forum
  3. Hi all, As per the title I need some help on which my car is for some mods I plan to do. It's a 2005 fabia vrs How do I know if I have an ASZ or BLT?? Thanks!!
  4. Thanks Booke23, I'll experiment with that too then on my next tank not sure if I will be able to discern on this tank if the lower half is more productive than the upper half - im thinking probably not becos the upper half with presumably hold more fuel with the filler neck, and I won't be able to allow the lower half to run dry. Will report findings back Did a trip up to London yesterday (50 miles of motorway each way) but the trip meter only went up 0.4 which was a shame - car now reads 54.4 I realise 54.4 is a vast improvement over the 42 or so I was getting, but considering you have to drive like uve had a stroke at the wheel im not sure it's worth it in terms of driving pleasure. ...that said, according to my dyno graph I still have 100 BHP and 220lbs/ft at 2.2k which is where I change and to be fair can still pull away from other traffic from a stop, it's just all the short shifting im hating really. A trip to London that used to take an hour or 50 mins if I really stepped on it, now takes about 1.5 hours (65 - 70) on the motorway, and I find myself getting really bored :-/ Do all VRS owners have to drive like the elderly to reach these figures or are you able to throw some fun in too? I haven't checked my EGR valve or MAF sensor yet so that's the next thing on my list. Thanks all for reading
  5. A friend also suggested half filling the tank (saves around 20kg?)
  6. I've been fortunate in not having this problem yet...do u have pic?
  7. Does anyone have any thoughts on going from 3rd to 5th, 4th to 6th etc?? MPG readings up slightly to 54.2mpg....having to drive like an old boy tho lol
  8. Hi all, I'm looking for a set of stupidly light 16" alloys for my silver fab Please can someone post of some pics of the options & preferably some fitted on a silver fab like mine. I love the look of the R32's but I don't suppose they're too light lol Cheers all
  9. I already have matey, my trip comp is more or less spot on My last tank saw me 430 miles & I put in 10.12 gallons to brim it again. I haven't got my notes to hand (gone to bed) but I think it's approx 42.5mpg based on that, and the trip comp says 43. It's a bit premature for me to calculate this tankful as I only started this morning but will post up displayed MPG and calculated readings on my next fill up
  10. Id prob be looking to advertise on pistonheads, autotrader etc - there is a for sale section on this forum too Have a look and see what others are selling them for and it will give u an idea of what the going rate is & also the kind of things to say!
  11. Thanks! Will do that when I head home and report back
  12. Thanks Booke23 I tried resetting it but it didn't work, maybe im doing something wrong.... I a scrolled through to the MPG display and held the button next to the speedo. It did nothing :( So the 53.2 was an increase from the 42 or so it was showing yesterday... What does that mean?
  13. Day 1 - So far so good! Filled up my car with ultimate diesel, cleaned and polished it plus took all junk out, changed gear at not more than 2.2k when acelerating from a stop, kept revs under 2k once in top gear, drove in the highest gear possible for the speed and use momentum, but never attempting to accelerate if there revs are below 1.5k - total shown MPG on my 15 mile commute this morning = 53.2 mpg
  14. Re: less weight - yes I like this idea think though id prefer to do that after trying all the other options tho cos as u say it would be noisy and I don't hav anywhere convenient to store my seats really
  15. Thanks Triggerfish, will look for the Bosch one is there any way to know from the look of it if its had its chips? I only ask cos don't really wanna spend £80 if I didn't need to....
  16. Thanks Billy2981 - whys it so expensive? Ebay do one for like £21 lol
  17. Many thanks, Johal87! Will sort this tomorrow eve and report back how many miles has yours done? Has anyone tried low resistance tyres? Lol
  18. Been thinking of renewing my MAF - not sure how expensive this is....does anyone know the part number?
  19. Does anyone know if cars (like people) have good days and bad days? Because the day before the dyno day the car was running really nicely, silky smooth and eager. But on the day of the dyno on the way down there it felt stodgy and lethargic....like a different car :-/ The dyno said 160 BHP which was in the official predicted range, but the night before id comfortably embarrassed a 170 BHP celica and I couldn't help but feel it could have done better
  20. Lol, you'll be fine - just don't start in 2nd I rev mine from standstill to 4.2k for the 7 sec time, that's inc first gear. I know some people short shift with first but that's never worked for me...
  21. Welcome aboard sir!! what mods are u running?
  22. I think it's meant to be better than hybrid isn't it? Think I read somewhere about hybrids being old generation or something...?
