  1. @TheWandererI have VCDS, but as you say, more hassle than it's worth. It was just an observation, having not noticed it before. VCDS could do it, as mentioned above, but i'll leave alone,
  2. @TheUltraRunnerit's not that it's an issue, just one of those things that's been noticed and doesn't make sense, to me anyway. Your KMH display looks even stranger with differences ranging from 20 Kmh to 50 Kmh. Surely speedo's are normally linear with the indicated speeds equidistant? You live and learn!!
  3. Does anyone else have a '22 plate Octy VRS estate where the virtual speedo numbering goes 120, 140, 180 !! The spacing between the figures is linear, and according to a Skoda dealer, the numbering is correct. Is this the case? TIA.
  4. That's where my latest ones are coming from. Will fit and see what happens.
  5. The only lamps I've changed are the reversing ones. I've some more coming from another source and some indicator ones. Odd that I have no warnings about defective lamps, just the maxidot indication.
  6. Well, fitted a couple of led replacements I had from an earlier car in the reversing lights, very bright, no warnings. However, now, with the engine running and any door open, I get a boot open indication in maxidot but no alarms. Feel I need to get vcds again!! Anyone else had the same or similar indications.?
  7. Diesel dpf regen cycle. Occurs when the dpf regen cycle has not completed when driving and continues for a while after stopping. Mine does the same.
  8. Had one fitted as standard on my old octavia under the passage seat. I retrofitted another one under the drivers seat. Wife's yeti had a passenger one as well. Must be a cost cutting exercise as my current 69 plate octavia estate only has the condon stowage.
  9. After a discussion with Celtic, they do not believe there is a problem with re-mapping a Delphin. I've one of there Emotion+ devices inbound so we'll have a play and see what transpires. If it works, I've then got both the original map plus the new one to return it to the original state if it doesn't work. If not, time for a re-think.
  10. This is the problem, what is the ECU type?. Of course it may not matter to some tuners so will drop the guys above a line and if I can get to mine, see if there's a makers ident on it. Cheers @AGFalco.
  11. Made an enquiry today of a local re-mapping company, about a remap. Initially, I was asked if I knew what ECU was fitted I.e. Delphin/Bosch, I couldn't answer that one so they said leave it with them and they'll do some digging, the reason beIng that they don't/can't remap a Delphin ECU. Got in touch with a local dealer who kindly found out from ETKA the part number, 04L 906 056 TJ 5E0. Quick search threw up it was a Delphin. Received a phone call from the company a little later this afternoon, basically, they couldn't carry out a remap as the required data file was possibly only in the development stage. So, what, realistically, are my options, does anyone know if Delphin ECU'S can't be remapped in general, or are there companies that can. Is an external tuning (DTUK tuning box etc) now the only option. Any suggestions / info gratefully received.
  12. Unfortunately never managed to find anything suitable. Using a lower voltage filament lamp only works in the short term before burning out, and therefore not worth it. Did start on the route of measuring the resistance of a standard filament lamp, then looked to purchase a resistor and solder it line to "cheat" the system into thinking it was a standard lamp. Unfortunately got rid of the car before I solved the issue. Perhaps it's time to start again with the new car.
  13. Led boot lights causes an imbalance in the canbus system and causes random alarm indications. As already stated, open glovebox when moving, boot open warning comes on. Use of passenger vanity mirror illumination has the same affect. I've not come across anyway to code this out, the only thing to do is fit brighter lamps if possible.
  14. You may need to check the format you have your files in, mpeg normaly okay, if you go hi-def, I.e. flac, the system may not play them.
  15. About to go back to an Octavia estate, 69 plate 1.6 and want to replace the existing lamps with LED variants. Having looked through the forums, there are numerous posts on this subject. However, I'm after recommendations for replacements that do not throw up lighting errors. It's been a while since I did this so any upto date info much appreciated.
  16. @sussamb funny you should mention that, im hopefully leaving a 1.5 manual karoq, not because its bad, just time for a change. I've heard through various first hand owners that an increased mpg is a big factor in changing to something a little lighter. Hopefully will get a test drive this week. Still not convinced a DSG is for me, maybe one day.
  17. I'm not a fan of DSG, however, good to hear that someone likes them! Hopefully a test drive this week in the right model as so far been offered a 1.0 tsi, and a DSG, neither what I'm going for. I know there's a shortage of immediately available models and long lead times, but if I'm after a manual 1.5, test driving of the others would only give me a sort-of idea.
  18. Evening, possibly looking at the above as a potential new car. Currently have a Karoq but have decided that I don't need anything that large. Does anyone have the above model and does anyone know of any potential issues. Thanks in advance.
  19. Had this car been mine, it would have had a towbar fitted, but as its pcp I haven't gone down that route, maybe in the near future. It would also get re-mapped, if I keep it.
  20. Well the car has returned and all works as it should. As well as both door lock control modules failing and having to be replaced, the major problem was the body control module itself. It failed causing a comms failure within the canbus data network. The nature of the fault still allowed exterior lights, indicators, cornering lights, auto operation of the headlights etc, to continue working, possibly a safety feature? Anyway all is now good. Thankfully all the work was carried out under warranty.
  21. Day 3 at the dealers, still no confirmation as to the problem.
  22. @kodiaqsportline funny you should mention that. I fitted an led boot light as soon as I got the car and there were no problems. The intermittent boot open warning, was just that, intermittent with no other faults reported that I could see. I originally posted the fault on here over two years ago with no solution. Last week, someone suggested the led bootlight as a possible cause as he had the same issue. Bugger me, changed the lamp back to the original and there has been no re-occurance!!! I still dont have any boot light though☹️. As to the sensor, I've done the cloth over it to simulate low light and the system behaves as it should with the headlights so that appears fine. We'll see what the garage finds this week.
  23. The latest update: Took the car in for 30,000 service and defect investigation. Both front door lock modules replaced as they had developed faults, (intermittent locking when entering the car). The lack of interior lights and nearly black infotainment and central displays has stumped them. Car goes in tomorrow for a couple of days for further in depth investigation. Worse case scenario, new BCM and complete software update/reload, thankfully, all warranty work.
  24. @slaslu Unfortunately not. I think the one I had was an Ali express special. It showed no faults on the system, but caused the boot open indication as identified in the OP. I'm going to have to investigate the current offerings. There's a lot of info available on this forum and things have moved on a lot in 2 years.
  25. Yep, certainly was. Will have to find an alternative LED. It's only taken 2 years. Thankyou Slaslu.
