  2. Hi Guys Just had the oil changed on my vrs and the girl friend has picked up the car and noticed that the garage did not reset the oil service warning. Cant really be arsed going back to the garage. Can I reset the warning myself? Regards Matt
  3. Hi Guys Had my vrs a few months now and have done approx 5000 miles so would like to get the oil changed. This was done when I bought the car but as I have done so many miles since owning it in such a sort space of time I would like it done again. can anyone reccommend a decent garage near Liverpool? and how much should I expect to pay? I have never had a car serviced at a garage before as I normally do it myself but want to keep up the service history on this one. Should I look at replacing anything else for this service. The car is on 105k miles and had a service at 100k before I bought it. Thanks in advance Matt
  4. thanks very much for the guys. I will have a look at the manual and reset it for now and then maybe look for someone with VCDS. thanks
  5. Ok, don't suppose they is anyway I can reset it without taking into a dealer?
  6. Cheers for the reply. Yeah should have been more clear. It is not the warning light, it is the LCD oil warning. Will have to double check that they did change the oil when it was serviced. Thanks for the reply. Cheers Matt
  7. Hi guys Jumped into the vrs yesterday's and and the oil started flashing so jumped out and checked the level and it seemed low which is strange since I have only done 3000 miles since a service. Anyway after topping up and checking the level I am still getting the oil warning on the dash. Should this reset itself or auto detect the new level? Thanks in advance
  8. thanks for the link. I will check that out when I get home tonight. Regards Matt
  9. Hi Guys Not sure if you saw my other post but a previous owner had cut my front bumper so that it had a big mouth grill. Someone then bodged it back to standards but this bodge has not help and the fell apart the other night. I dont want to fork out for a new bumper so am going to have a go at putting it back together myself. Was just wondering if it was an easy job to remove the bumper as it would be a hell of a lot easy bodging it back together if the bumper was not on the car. Regards Matt
  10. Nevermind. Just did a quick search and saw the mod. Not to my liking so glad it's gone. Just need to try bode it back together now.
  11. Thanks for the replies. Anyone got any pics of what the big mouth mod would have looked like just out of interest. Yeah the campervan work was me so should be able to sort something out. Just need to find the time.
  12. not aware of the previous owner making any mods. As you have said it seems that the tabs are missing. Going to take it to the skoda garage and see what they say.
  13. As in the description, my license plate and surround trim has fallen off and now there is just a big hole there. Not sure how else to explain it. Here are some pics http://www.flickr.com/photos/mattcripps/ sorry not sure how to embed them in the post Any ideas why this may have happened and if I can get the replacement parts, if so what part is it i need and how much will it cost to sort Thanks in advance
  14. Hey guys Have owned my vrs for a few weeks now and have really loved it so far. Great fun coming from a 70bhp Hyundai. I have noticed tho that there seems to be a strange droaning like a washing machine coming from the rear I think. I have only hear it when driving around town doing less than 50 mph . Could it be a wheel bearing going? Is there a quick way I can check this? Thanks in advance.
  15. Hi Guys New to the forum. Just bought a 53 plate vrs and need to get some new tyres for the two front wheel. I have read a few of the topics on here about tyres. I have just rung my local tyre place asking about the tyres they have in stock and he mention they have budget one's which I don't really want and then some mid range ones called evergreen? Has anyone heard of these and are they any good? Going to research on the net now but thought people might have first hand experience here. I realise the tyre topic has been covered alot but in my search of the forum I could not find any reference to the evergreen brand. Thanks in advance
