Struggling to settle on a used kodiaq
I've had an SE L, Edition and L&K. All great cars but the Edition was my favourite. Generally overlooked but comes with all the bells and whistles you want and generally a little bit cheaper.

Kodiaq eTech mk2 towbar
Aren't there just some former headmasters on this forum - do this, don't do that! I thought forums like this one were where like minded enthusiasts shared tips and ideas, not to get lectured on the 'proper' way to do things I've now discovered that many towbar companies are fitting the mk1 Kodiaq towbar with either a universal wiring kit or a dedicated wiring kit so I bought a mk1 towbar, dedicated wiring kit and fitted it myself! Total cost - about £300. Someone who commented on my post, with a positive attitude, was quite correct in that the mk2 does come fully prepared to accept a towbar. All the wiring is behind the n/s trim in the boot. No need to remove rear lights. Wheel arch trims partly unclip then slide. Easy peasy for an old man like me with a young son keen to help his Dad. By the way, the bits came off eBay.

Kodiaq eTech mk2 towbar
I am finding it almost impossible to source a towbar for my 2024 kodiak mk2. The dealer pointed me to a towbar specialist who advised me that a towbar was still under development yet the dealer said they had fitted one for them. Some towbar suppliers say that any kodiaq towbar will fit, others say they don't do one or the car doesn't have the capacity to tow. The prices I am being quoted for a one size fits all towbar means that I might have to come out of retirement to pay for one, if a proper one becomes available! Has anyone had one fitted and able to help me with some contact details. Mike

Skomaz, I never saw a car or given any choice of options . This is my 3rd car from this dealer and probably expected too much.

Yes, I agree but top of the range at the moment!

I have just taken delivery of a new Kodiaq - SE L (7 Seats) 1.5 TSI e-TEC PS DSG to replace a 2000 L&K (7 seats) DSG 2.0 TDi. Prior to that I had an Edition which was the 'bees knees' as far as I am concerned. However, initial impressions are disappointing. The SE L is supposedly the top of the range yet it doesn't have a spare wheel, nor a jack(!!!). Apparently it isn't possible to carry even a space saver spare wheel due to the split level floor! No wheel brace yet it has the locking wheel nut adaptor. It has a little compressor and bottle of sealant but you can't raise the car to move the sealant around. The 'pincers' to remove the plastic wheel nut covers were discovered in the depths of the central glove box. The rear floor has the corners ' cut off' so anything small can disappear under the floor. Paid £1000 extra for metallic red which is more like the Post Office Red that used to be applied to Metal post boxes! So, first impressions - disappointing!

engine light
Accepted Codes checked and reset professionally on almost brand new Snap-On scanner. Error came back the next time I started the engine. 25 years in Engineering/Motor Trade here, not some modern day dumb f**k "fit a new one!" technician! Genuinely seeking help not a slap on the wrist!

Other than what I have already tried would you suggest I do? The point of my question was how do I find out why the light is on? I am stuck as to what to try next?

engine light
My engine light came on the other day. Car is 2020 Kodiaq L&K 2.0 tdi. All codes and fuses checked. Clean fuel. No water contamination that I know of. Fully serviced. Been told it could be the signal wire from AdBlu pump??? AdBlu topped up a few days before with 'old' fluid. I bought 25l and decanted it into 5 x 5 spotlessly clean containers. Does it degrade with age? If so, can I drain it out?

Kodiaq jittery shaky ride at stable speed 50-80 km/h
Have the centre bearing on the propshaft checked. I had an 'Edition' of similar vintage and that would start vibrating at just under 70mph and stop at about 78mph. Made it very difficult to get anywhere quickly but comply with the law. Ended up just sitting at about 66mph and all was fine. Had the car on a ramp and there was definite 'play' in the bearing! Subsequently changed the car so perhaps you've got it now (lol)! Mike
