  1. Yes, a firmware update did give full post code. If it was three years ago the problem may not be the gateway battery drain issue but it might be worth a look here for some info - Fix for old CAN gateway.
  2. Hi,Have you carried out any firmware updates on the Columbus unit as there is an issue that does cause a battery drain issue with certain units / firmware combinations? Just a thought Regards, Kevin.
  3. Hi, What is the model of the DAB unit? Regards, Kevin.
  4. Hi, Map number 7672 is version 8. The mapping database is 2010 Q4. Version 9 would be 7918 (mapping datadase 2012 Q1). I believe the part number for Skoda v10 maps is 3T0051859Q although a search on skodaparts.com came up blank. So if Skoda dealer is offering a download then it should be the latest but no worse than 7918. I had a dealer download maps that were way out of date version wise because they hadn't updated their system! I have just updated firmware to 5238. This update didn't require a unit recode or maps to be reloaded. I updated from FW 3974. I'm not sure if this FW is good for revision B units. Map 8048 contains mapping data from 2013 Q1. Regards, Kevin.
  5. Hi, I have just done the same but Mytyres were showing and supplied steel wheels with an offset of 45 (ET45). I decided to go with Dunlop 4D's. The manual suggests than fine link (9mm) chains are OK for 7J x 16 wheels with a 45 or 50 offset. I use a set of Thule K Summit chains that dont go behind the wheel when used with my standard 225/40/R18 alloys. Not cheap but they are the easiest chains to fit I have ever used. Up and running very quickly without the hassle of reaching around the back of the tyre etc.. They also give clearance to the wheel arch on full lock allowing for suspension travel which was a concern for me. Lucky for me these will fit the new steel wheels as well if required. The only thing left to check is that it's OK to used the original wheel bolts with the steel wheels, 99.9% sure it is OK. Regards, Kevin.
  6. Hi, I believe that the 10th letter of the VIN denotes the model year. For Skoda C denotes MY 2012 with B being 2011 therefore MY 2013 should logically be a D. My Superb has a C as the 10th letter which correctly denotes MY2012. This is also backed up by Elsawin. Looks like your dealer may be confused. Regards, Kevin.
  7. Hi, See post #45 of this thread for link to icons. Regards, Kevin.
  8. When I collected my new Superb the dealer supplied a card with all the required details (Registration number, dealer ID etc.) so the insurance can be arranged very simply. The cover note is then sent to the dealer so they can tax the car etc. I am surprised your dealer hasn't given you the details you require. I'm sure a quick call will do the trick. Regards, Kevin.
  9. This attached document from Westfalia covers the programming. Page 23 covers TSA. Regards, Kevin. Westfalia Wiring Leaflet.pdf
  10. Towbar prep (UK spec) puts plugs into the wiring loom for the additional wiring kit to be plugged into. You will need the electric kit you refer to. I have just had a Westfalia detactchable fitted along with the westfalia 13 pin wiring kit which was coded to car to switch off sensors, fog lights and activate towing stability program. Regards, Kevin.
  11. As Ray says, bulbs accessed from behind. See attached Change Front Bulb.pdf
  12. As will always be the case there is more than one way of doing things. Personally I prefer to remove the unit as, IMHO, the plastic of the light cover is less pliable than the drop down cover and with my luck, easier to break a clip. Removal is also the Skoda method acording to their manuals but, I will be the first to admit that that doesn't make it the best way Each to their own. Regards, Kevin.
  13. You need to drop down the cover that is closest to the alarm movement sensors. Use some thing plastic to unclip and it will swing down. You then need to remove 2 torx screws and the light unit can be dropped down and the bulb holders can then be removed. PDF attached. Regards, Kevin. Front Light Remove.pdf
  14. Hi, I am currently in the process of changing bulbs for LED versions and was wondering if the replacements for the puddle lights need to be canbus complient or if I can use a standard LED as in the interior replacements? If you have replaced yours without problems, what did you use? Thanks for any assistance you can offer. Regards, Kevin.
  15. Hi, I had this problem with a Citroen C5 purchased new in 2006. After looking through forums the suggested remedy was hand cream rubbed into the seals. I have to admit to getting a few comments when doing it from the neighbours but after a couple of applications all was well with no squeaks and smooth hands! It was also a cheap solution and it is still in the garage just in case. Regards, Kevin.
  16. Hi, Can't comment regarding park assist but page 180 of the manual should help regarding the recommended running in procedure. Regards, Kevin.
  17. Hi Allan, Good to hear your up and running with the test database. The icons in the test file were downloaded from the POInspector blogspot The downloads can be found on the right hand side listed as Personal POI custom icons in the download section. There's a very good selection of icons for speed cameras and lots more beside. The icons can then be used within POInspector. Click the Tools button and then select icons. This will allow you to add icons. You can only add one at a time unless you unlock the program by making a donation. Once you have added the icons you need you can then change the icons for each item by right clicking and selecting edit category. Regards, Kevin
  18. Hi sussexvet, The first time I tried to load my own database the menu was greyed out and refused to change. Eventually I got it to work because I had used a file name with less than 9 characters. I found this info on the blog. I have a database that works which is a test, made up of 30 mph speed cameras and TGI Fridays locations. I would be happy to send you the file for you to test if it's any help? PM me if you want to give it try. I wouldn't bet on the dealer being overly interested in this as they find it hard to keep up to date with map releases :wonder: Regards, Kevin.
  19. Hi, I downloaded the same after my dealer finally managed to get hold of V7.2 maps (took over a month - car delivered 29th December with V6.0 map) at the weekend and when extracted to a folder on the desktop I have 15 files. RNS510poi.exe is the executable to run. You will get the usual warning regarding Unknown Publisher but runs fine on my XP Pro laptop. Regards, Kevin.
  20. Hi, Ordered my Superb Estate Elegance 170 with a few extras on 3rd September with dealer and had heard nothing until this evening when dealer phoned to say the car is with them and when can I call in to sort the paperwork etc. Hopefully will get my hands on it soon, around 16 weeks in total. Hi

Hi, Have been luking in the Superb forums for a few months since ordering a Superb Estate Elegance 170 on the 3rd September. I have had no contact from the dealer since then but, as not expecting delivery until February I wasn't overly bothered. However, just received a call at 6pm today saying the car has arrived so can I come over and sort the paperwork ect. Christmas has come early. Best regards, Kevin.
