Going to hack this thread so apologies...my 2006 vrs says its due a service at 46k which is now. The service book says 53k or 2013. It had a service in 2011 at 33k. What's the best thing to do? Luckily I know a skoda man with a diag machine. The same man who built and tested the octavia which did the speed record in the states! I'm trying to convince him to do mine.

Thanks, I may do that.

I think that's my concern - possible clutch, tyre or break replacement. Haven't got the money to replace any of those at the moment.

Cheers all. Definately reassuring. Just need to bite the bullet now!

This has probably been done numerous times before, so apologies but if I were to go on a track day what do I need to be aware of? I never driven on a track before. - obviously need a helmet, but can you hire them at the track? - do you need extra insurance? - what things are liable to wrong with the car? Clutch? Tyres? I was interested in the castle Coombe day but as a novice i feel i would be a bit over whelmed

Isn't there a VRS one of those or am I mistaken?

I'm talking about places like through town...

Front ones I can just about bear, but rear ones at night are blinding. More dangerous than anything when not used correctly. It just shows they are not paying attention as it should light up on their dashboard...

54 Plate Mk 2 Octavia Sat Nav Systems

Does anyone know if there are any user guides to retrofit a columbus into a mk2 octavia? -
I'm going to go for a bit of a rant.....so apologies. I don't understand peoples fascination with fog lights and their usage. Yes it was foggy this morning, but visibility wasn't that bad. Especially through built up areas. There is no need to have your fog lights on. Yes put them on if you can't see less than 100 meters, but other than that it is a danger to other road users. I bet most won't turn them off later on today/tonight once the fog has cleared. What also annoys me is drivers who use their front ones 'to look cool'. And breathe....

Gave her a good run out. Love B roads.

In the last week I got the windows tinted, had the paint work repaired and put on the 'it's a skoda. honest' sticker.

See I disagree. If I'm at a red light, and the emergency vehicle can't get through I will pull forward to let them through. Obviously taking into account the junction, but if it is going to be more of a danger then you have to assess the situation. End of the day it's about common sense, but unfortunately some drivers lack that in today's society. As for the emergency vehicle stopping and turning off their blues and two's, well that doesn't make sense.

Was going to wash the car today but the weather has put a halt to that!!

As others have said get down the old bill and speak to them. It's failure to stop. End of the day it's an accident and failing to report it/leave a note is a criminal offence.

Unfortunately I can't afford the whole bumper replacement at the moment so will have to take the risk. I'll be washing by hand from now on anyway.

So the wife thinks I have a 'home boi' car now the windows are tinted. I call it a mid life crisis and reliving my yoof

Just spoke to the dealer and he is willing to pay half the costs. Which is better than a kick in the face I suppose. Oh and he wasn't aware if the bumper was replaced but doubt it. The flaking is just an unlucky occurrence apparently.
