  1. When you think your driving some supercar slaying machine lol.
  2. Lol can't class a performance in terms of just torque. A Honda s2000 arseholes a mapped vrs but has way less torque, the power delivery is totally different.
  3. Its not as cut and dry as that which is why people get caught up in torque figures. What he didn't mention was gearing ratios and power determines how fast you actually go.
  4. To mention a few things - matching TB and intake manifold and one of the best following heads, overly square. Its obvious you need to rev that high to make that sort of power. A waankkle engine will need a rebuild far sooner and its different of course. Fuel/oil are a moot point. Got to rag the shiiit out of these engines though. You either love them or hate, personally I'm not a fan.
  5. Thanks for clearing that up Fabdavrav. Everyone knows though the king of N/A engines is Honda, my mate had an EK9 that has been rolling road dyno tested on two dyno's a 1.6L N/A making 210BHP! - with minor bolt on's. S2000's which are 2.0L with bolt on's on tune can make around 265-270BHP MAX. Bloody amazing.
  6. Love it, what sort of cars does it keep up with? Dare i say a 335d?
  7. Sorry LOL. Are the brake discs a direct replacement and do stock calipers work with the bigger discs? - or is this a caliper and disc replacement.
  8. Does the brake disc bolt right on along with the standard calipers?
  9. Yup your right, not brillo pads. I've had steel scourers in my CC for 2 years now and no problems. You don't need to use a massive catchcan, simply take out the dipstick and pipes from the ports if there is a difference in air flow then you know your catch can is too small or too big, however as i say venting with a filter is best.
  10. Do'able with those mods in my experience but on the high side of power gains.
  11. You want to put brillo pads in further catch oil vapour - this makes the CC more effective. Also it will take the shortest route out, usually back upto the top so if your happy vent to atmosphere but put a filter on half way down, but the pipe that goes to bottom is a good idea.
  12. How much pal? The only thing I'd be worried about is the turbo, if its had an easy life and looking after then it should be okay for a wee while.
  13. Cree's are much brighter and whiter and not much more expensive than LED's. ^ sounds like an advert for persil
  14. Is this N/A It doesnt matter if it has a knock sensor or not, they could set a pre-defined ignition timing in WOT maps but leave partial throttle alone - but run the risk. Bloody good results for a 140BHP but definitely possible with for example, manifold, decat, cam's, tune, catch can, intake, TB, matched intake manifold, exhaust list goes on. Wouldnt bother with different spark plugs unless you are pushing the timing, therefore you would be best to get something better and 1 stage colder plugs to help prevent det.
  15. Alright lads, I will be starting a new job in a month or so, so i need another car. Didn't want to spend too much but the fabia VRS fits the bill, i always liked the looks but the interior is terrible but hey ho. I will be getting a 2004 model. Anyhow i wont beat around the bush i WILL be modifying it but on a budget, as i have a quick petrol car as a fun car. I have spent quite a while reading and TBH my head is turning into smash! - so please bear with me i am new here. A few questions if you may? - I'm looking to spend around 1k. I would class myself as a careful easy going driver/mechanical sympathetic but like an occasional 'booting it' 1. I will be fitting a EGR delete any differences in products? and decat, would a straight through backbox help? - do these help with power? 2. Will be getting a remap but keeping standard clutch and turbo - where is best in the north west/north east? 3. What lowering springs do folk recommend and how much lower by? does it actually help the handling? 4. How can i tart the interior up cheaply? - was thinking about 3m Carbon fibre stuff. 5. How can i improve the handling/stopping without spending a bomb? - i read about a rear ARB? 6. Are intake systems a waste of time, i read that some folk say a pd160 intake is good, other a waste of time. Are there any others? 7. With the above mods will i be able to make 180-190BHP/300 ft-lb torque on standard turbo? - taking into account bolt on's to not hammer the turbo too much. 8. Would be buying an headunit are the standard speakers **** or do they need upgrading? 9. How much is a lower front splitter? and can you fit them FIY? 10. Can anyone recommend any cheap but good 5000HID kits? Anything else i should consider? Apologies for the questions Thanks lads
