  1. There are quite a few 'Reviewers' / Journalists / Vloggers saying it overshadows the VW ID.4. There needs to be many smaller BEV,s getting punted though that Fleets will want to run. Kia Niro sized and smaller for the use of just a driver, NHS, Carers, Social Workers and many others from Agencies, Local Authorities, Utilities etc etc, & obviously just drivers, commuters etc. Not everyone has a family, partner, friends or the need to carry passengers or stuff. VW Group need to get their small BEV,s out as do Ford and many others that are behind what the Chinese, South Korean, Japanese and even the French are building. (In what ever country.)
  2. @Winston_Woof Yes 'buy in' as i call it Partner. Like VW Group have with MG / SAIC their owner. JLR using TESLA for their Pool. EU or UK Fleet Average C02, and now Zero Emission vehicles. EU or UK and the percentage of Origin of Materials and Parts is going to bite manufacturers in the bum soon enough. 'Rules of Origin' 55% to qualify for tariff-free trade between UK & EU, if the vehicle falls short than a 10% tariff is applied on trade between EU & UK.
  3. 100% displayed really is what matters. If there is a buffer then fair emough, but drive ones and you might well know that over 98% you are starting off and do not have braking regeneration, or slowing down without braking. In some you still have yet the Reading is 100%. So really no more energy should be going in. But if the car uses 0.6 kWh just from turning it on and starting to move there is battery space for some electricity from regenning.
  4. @ChaybobbTidbit Decision on pressures is from driving vehicles of all types but pretty much automatics over the past 5 decades in all seasons on many tyre types and sizes so 50 winters and springs, summers and autumns. Grip / Traction (Friction) and safe driving in the wet, cold. snow, sleet & ice being more than important than the MPG really. Summer time i might run tyres a bit higher pressure in quite warm weather if not doing 'Spirited driving'. But then it can be horribly wet roads you encounter even in the summer. But then simple enough to adjust tyre pressures. A good tyre pressure gauge and a way to inflate tyres is 'Simply Clever' to have now with the price of going someplace to inflate your tyres.
  5. Ford in the EU & UK are going to have to be First Registering enough BEV,s so as they are not paying a penalty on ICE vehicles sold. Or their partners might if they use a partner. That is this year and in the coming years as the percentage needed increases. That means probably getting BEV,s offered that are smaller and cheaper than a Mach-E Mustang or Transit electric.
  6. Or maybe a pleasant surprise at 11,000 miles in 24 months. Location location location. It is easy and cheap to replace. Easy at dealerships where they might just replace. DIY you might want to clean / wash the area after vacuuming any Stoor (Dust / grot), disinfect. Some come out clean enough that a good shake, and a vacuum or blow through with an airline is enough. Cheap skates.
  7. 65 pence at Podpoints is about the point it is OK if you get 4 miles a kWh. If getting 3.1 as i do much of the last 5 months. that is 31 miles for £6.50 so not cheap. Coldest weather to the shops & even some longer runs only 2.7 miles a kWh. If you have to use BP Pulse and 69 pence or 79 pence without subscription, or Instavolt 85 pence then that is a different matter. Lots of places are in the 55 pence to 85 pence a kWh now for just a 22 kw-50 kW charger. My Local Authority is now 55 pence a kWh. South Ayrshire is 37 pence but a minimum £5. So a total PITA if you do not need 13.5 kWh maybe to just top up before travelling or you do not have the time and just want 15 minutes on a rapid charger and on your way.
  8. If your Public Charging is costing you 30 pence a kWh on a 7/11 kW AC charger then. 10 kWh is £3.00 and if you get 3.5 miles a kWh that is 35 miles. If 40 pence, £4.00 50 pence is £5.00 60 Pence is £6.00 75 pence is £7.50. etc. easy to work out. So even if you get 4 miles a kWh and you are paying 65 pence a kWh at a PodPoint that is £6.50 for 40 miles worth of electricity. Not much there is there to have someone think this makes economic sense at current public charging prices to go EV for my daily around town and out and about private car public charging. *Lots of miles for work* Lovely, that will getting your miles paid for. & yet you like parking where the Hummer driver likes to park, and park all night charging to full. That is the issue. 'I am a all right Jack' BEV business user, I can charge my big battery car on a 3.6 or 7 kW charger all night and stop someone that needs just enough charging for a few hours. They might not have an employer paying that could have the car on an Ultra Rapid charger and even claim back the VAT.
  9. These Academics and others need to remember that there are a high percentage of people without homes where there can be a charger or have no workplace with a charger or maybe even parking nearby or public transport connections near where they live or work. All these politicians and others that forget how many actually use cars that costs them out of their own pockets to run, and not all are 'suits', able to work from home, or fixed work places like offices or even factories. There are trades people who are self employed or contractors that might seldom see or visit the head office.
  10. & 1.6 TDI CR Mk3 Superb,s. As anyone here that had or has one could maybe confirm.
  11. Welcome, Huge choices online, ebay, Amazon, Etsay etc etc. Best by from a UK seller and a trusted seller.
  12. @smalltownmotion Welcome to a forum. Maybe if you had started your own thread answers might be more about your car.
  13. @anotherdownunder Great stuff. So are you all good now? What was the bottom line then on what it cost you to resolve?
  14. Good. VW introduced the DQ380 in 2015 and the DQ381 after that. So what was used 2013 to 2015 or 2018? That is with 1.4 TSI or 1.6tdi,s?
  15. @Redmanc99 You posted in 'Reviews'. Every other Mk3 vRS seems to get around ok without breaking the sump including lowered ones.
  16. The OP says the Air Filter element was changed last year. (The first spark plug change i understand, the 2nd set so soon might be questionable.) Were DQ381 7 speed wet clutch fitted in 2017? DQ200,s were on 1.6TDI,s were / are they not? It is a 1.4 TSI FWD with 148 bhp / 150ps and no more than 250 Nm. They did use a DQ381 on a Kodiaq 1.4 TSI ACT, but it has Haldex. (DQ380,s for China.)
  17. My MINI came on near smooth Goodyear Eagle F1,s and Vredstein Quatrac Pro all seasons i fitted in the same size were actually more efficient and that is very easy to check in an EV. Now i have on narrower Maxxis AP3,s on smaller rims and the same circumference and they are more efficient again and not ditch finders like the Goodyears. (Same with Corsa Electric which came on Michelin Primacy 4,s and there was not ill affect putting on Michelin Alpin 6,s. or the Riken Snow tyres.) Over the years i have always put on All Season or winter tyres on every vehicle i run and they are no less efficent for fuel than what ever the car comes on New or used. It is how things are that matters and not what someone thinks. & then actually knowing what you get in the way of miles out of 45 litres, or 55 or whatever. Not what you are seeing on a Dash Reading. Then there is winter, spring, summer or autumn and the possibility of differences. & setting tyre pressures as the seasons change or temperatures, and know of that makes a difference.
  18. The only thing that they build is some cosmetic rust when it rains or you wash the car. No layer of anything once the newness is off the brakes. As for the Bull Sh!t from who ever the service assistant at the Dealership and 20,000 miles. That will be when they are saying the discs and pads need replaced. @Raf75 welcome, was that a Service Desk Receptionist that told you that or an actual Technician / Fitter?
  19. ? How much a change of circumference / total diameter is there and how many miles do you actually do now compared to what the mileometer tells you. Really you did not change the circumference by that much did you? ? Are they the same width of tyres. (What is on the road surface.) Tyre labels really mean nothing. Give a clue only. LIke the noise they give. nonsense often. Then there is the tyre pressures you are running. All Season Tyres are sometime not as economical as 'All Year / Summer bias' Tyres, and some are actually better, until warmer weather come,
  20. Yes they can be a PITA, even mean you are locked out the car with the keyless entry. Then you discover what has changed, sometimes eventually. If there was a Software Update done at a dealership which changed things, that changes can end up back to as they were. Skoda Octavia MK4 owners have over air software updates as well. Sometimes once stopped. Sometimes asked to enable them.
  21. No Oil & Filter change due at 40,000 or 80,000 or anytime with the DQ200 DSG. Which is what it has, a 7 speed twin dry clutch DSG. & the Cambelt change at 5 years, 50,000 miles has been dropped by VW Group / Skoda UK.
