Car shudders
@pans ? Can i ask where you are having the diagnostics carried out at and who is doing the servicing? Do you really not know if it is a 1.5 TSI or a 2.0 TSI? The S-A part means Semi Automatic, meaning it is a DSG gearbox. If it is a 1.5 TSI there was a full DVSA Recall on some having issues when new. If required that should have been done when at a main dealers. There was a software update applied to cars that required it. If you have a 2.0 TSI with DSG then the DSG has an Oil Change schedule.

2.0 TDI 4x4 MPG
Welcome. Things might improve as you get to know the car, or might not. Some say the first oil change improves economy, some say not. You have cold weather coming in the next weeks so you will maybe get poorer economy with more lights, heating etc. But maybe not where you are and the weather, tyre pressures and warming up time will make no difference as the Winter Diesel will not. Time will tell. If you have not already checked the tyre pressures then best do that. They might be OK, but could be over inflated and when set correctly you might get a bit less MPG. Reset the TPMS as well. When the car runs in / drives in as Skoda call it the brakes might be less tight, the bearings and engine / gearbox all will run well and freeer. Owners manual covers that. That might all be in just a 1,000 miles or so. Check your oil level now and the coolant level and know where they are and check the oil over the next few thousand miles and see if there is any drop.

Brake Fluid Change intervals
Brake fluid is hygroscopic. Some never change brake fluid, say they never have. That is their business. Luck ij many cases. It makes sense to change brake fluid. It makes sense to test it. H2o content means that that water causes steam in the system, there is a different boiling point and expansion. Nobody knows how others use cars, often getting hot brakes, maybe then crossing fords, driving flooded roads etc, living or parking by the sea.

Car shudders
@pans It helps if you share which model of Superb with a petrol engine and DSG from 2018. & FWD or AWD. ? What petrol, as in, is it a 1.5TSI from 2018 which means there could be a simple answer. A known issue, or a 2.0 TSI? That makes a difference to which DSG is fitted. (There are DQ200's that need no oil changes with a 1.5TSI, or your car could have required a 40,000 mile oil change of the DSG, so twice, or the first one at 80,000 miles.) Has your car had the spark plugs changed once or even twice by 80,000 miles? You want a diagnosis done. That means read for fault codes then basic checks.

Brake Fluid Change intervals
It has been at 3 years then each 2 years for a decade now with Skoda in the UK. As a guideline, recommendation, suggestion, even a schedule, even though cars with a Service Plan or FULL MAIN DEALER SERVICING might not have had Brake Fluid changes as per Manufacturers Recommendations. The Brake Fluid can be tested for H2o content. (The EV's so Citigo iV & Enyaq service intervals might well now be for a brake fluid change at 2 years. ) DSG Services are not done my years. AC Service. well you decide. The Pollen filter needs looked at, maybe cleaned, or replaced and a clean up done. I would do that yourself and not give the £35 to a main dealership.

Haldex service
It is by the calendar with the VW Group, VW / Audi / Skoda / SEAT and that is at 3 years or 30,000, which ever comes first. (30,000 is my mileage, and a 15,000 mile a year car will come up in 2 years) It has been so for years now. (It was at 4 years / 40,000 miles until VW changed that to the more frequent service advice, guidelines, recommendations or even schedule, that was after failures, a year or so later Skoda eventually appeared to, not that all Skoda Dealership employees seem to have caught up on that.) 2014. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/310764-cambelt-change-and-haldex-oil-service-and-interval-cost 2015. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/359288-haldex-oil-change-frequency Volvo has had it at 20,000 miles for years now. The DSG Servicing is by miles not years. Then the cars with a VAQ Diff are @ 3 years / 30,000 miles and not as some are told, not necessary. do it next time if you want.

Domestic charging points - A new social dividing line?
Tap the CPS card and it starts. Not yet showing on the app. The temp sign seems clear enough that they are waiting on longer cables. Odd as the cables are plenty long enough. Looks like they were supplied and fitted. Just a pity that they could not paint EV Charging bay on the spaces and not have a sign post to the right of the chargers like they have at the left bay . Or not block a pavement at a very large car park and next to a garden that is a tourist attraction. The usual incompetence between Angus Council departments / employees, management. Housing, roads department, finance and elected members.

Domestic charging points - A new social dividing line?
Many of them. Greedy and inconsiderate. Then the Council's / hosts can be crap. I am currently charging at the charger that has been switched on for weeks and not yet in commission. Working just fine though. @wyx087 With the 43kW AC on the side is how SWARCO are supplying them to Local Authorities. Someone must advise and approve and splash the council tax payers dosh. Time they started bring in some money on this one.

DSG clutch pack life
@Micky 32 has the DSG had oil changes every 40,000 miles?

Domestic charging points - A new social dividing line?
Plenty of those 22 & 7 kWs if they bother going to them.. There are Mk1 Zoe cars that arrive wanting a 43 kW AC. not that many but the Zoe owner i moved to let charge used to own one and used these chargers when he had it for a rapid charge. A lovely morning before the rain, i was there very early and the Audi was plugged in at that time. before chargers wars started. Not so nice later on, thank goodness for canopies. The outside charger was working early on then not a few hours later.

Interesting Service Quote?
DQ381 7 speed Wet Clutch DSG Recommendation, guidelines or even schedules for oil changes are at 80,000. Up to owners if the want to do sooner. As to VAQ, i would get an Independent to do it, but if the car has Warranty Cover the VAQ should have been serviced to the Manufacturers Specification , recommendations, guidelines or schedules which Skoda Main Dealers / Approved repairers seem to ignore. So if there is a warranty have a main dealer service it and then if they mess up it is on their head. Th servicing of DSG's are not by years.

Domestic charging points - A new social dividing line?
Again the Hyundai plugged into the CCS for who knows how long and not charging. The Audi sitting for hours on the 43 kW AC and the Corsa doing the same for 2 hours getting 11 kWh max while there were plenty chargers available if the parked at them and used their own cable. The other chargers were all getting used and people were waiting and the Orange car made charging another Corsa awkward on the CCS.

Interesting Service Quote?
What was done at past services, what miles now and since last service. Maybe find a good independent if the Service Plan requires being ripped off on extras. Service as the vehicle requires. If the Service Plan is Oil & Inspection Service and next time Oil & Inspection & Extended Scope then let them do that Servicing and tell them to not do anything that costs extra. If the car has not got Haldex then is it a VAQ service. (that is at the front not the rear) ? VAQ £100 + @ 3 years / 30,000 miles. DSG £220 @40,000 miles, Oil & inspection Service maybe £185 Extended Scope £65 @ 3 years then each 2. Brake fluid maybe £65 @ 3 years then each 2 years. Pollen Filter £35 Rip off. Do it yourself. Air Filter £45 Rip Off. Do it yourself. In Blue is 2021 fixed prices cars 3-10 years old. @ participating dealers.... Pi55 taking.

New or improved hubs announced, Government EV Loans in Scotland and free & no longer free public charging places..
When you are on the Webinars or at a presentation SWARCO & CPS can be very impressive, very positive, very reassuring. Full of spin and total nonsense and how this is new to them, and as though they were not involved before last July. Such a pity that in reality they perform really badly, but that will all come out in the wash as SWARCO are trying to keep the very lucrative contract. The performance indicators and value for money will surely be their for the Scottish Government to see. Not that the Scottish Government have a good record on approving anything that is going to serve the population well and just allow contractors a fair profit for a good job done. TRANSPORT SCOTLAND has a lot to answer for. Really they are Not fit for purpose. http://transport.gov.scot The new website has lost lots of stuff that was useful on the old TrafficScotland website. Weather / Road conditions etc. The road and air temps at the sites where the up to the minute info is readily available is no longer available here. http://traffic.gov.scot I am not one of the 93% of the 39,000 drivers that responded positively. Nor negatively,. because i was never asked about any survey. So never responded. How many others with Accounts were unaware of any survey? ............... Then as to the Webinar below and the Out of Service chargers and info. That must be on a website because it is a phone app i use looking to see if a charger is available or occupied. Many say unidentified., not anything about 'Out of service / out of commission / gubbed long term.' @29 minutes. really Scotland's rather crap mobile receptions in many parts of Scotland not just rural is unexceptable. Well the Scottish Governments have carried on accepting it, and pathetic radio reception, and not just in the far flung areas up mountains and down dales. even right in the middle of towns. It certainly does not help when it comes to charging EV's. It is also a good excuse for many a failure of being able to charge a vehicle. Odd that when a new hubs location is chosen that the installers and customers do not actually try using a mobile phone at that location.

Scala SE 1.5 engine. Manual box.
You can retrofit whatever you want and dealerships quote for doing that. But you will not get a car replated. It is as simple as that .

@cybernck interesting to find out what the consensus is on this forum. Who is we regarding big and small services and where is here?

MPG and computer reading
? How many miles did it keep reading that, and were you rolling along, maybe off the accelerator and getting great efficiency? Do you actually ever get maybe 750-800 miles out of 45 litres of go go juice?
-
Scala SE 1.5 engine. Manual box.
^^^ But it came plated. So rather different from un-plated. ? Is your car without Towbar prep as ordered and built and still plated? Did the person at the dealership say one un-plated to tow could have that changed? Or what was it he deals in, is it Bull sh!-t? A towbar can be fitted for a carrier being fitted to. That is another grey area. Towing will be an issue, Police / insurance wise, so legality.

Skoda Fabia MK1 Pop and Bang?
Welcome. Someone can tell you about getting your desire and keeping it driving. Personally my first thoughts are park it in the clear someplace offroad, remove anything of value to sell off and put some fireworks inside it then set it on fire if there is anything flammable left to light.
