Anyone have any experience of driving both ? I presume the automatic would be slower than the manual Thing is, Im in Ireland and we dont have many 1.8 tsi's here at all, so almost impossible for me to test drive, which is why im asking all these annoying questions ))

Hello, So thinking of buying my first ever Skoda in the next month or 2 IMHO, One of the hardest things about buying a car is picking the car you want And then you have to pick the exact spec. you want I have now narrowed my selection down to a 2010/2011 Skoda Octavia 1.8 tsi Now my question is wheter to go for the automatic or the manual ? Which would you choose and why ?

oh ok, get ya now : ) But just on the matter, I think the "SE PLUS" Octivia 1.8 tsi has less horse power than the elegance by default.

so which ones do have the 160 BHP only the elgance and l&k is it ?

im not specifically talking about the DSG gearbox, just in general Im just wondering why there are so few skoda octavia 1.8 tsi's for sale in the uk from the year 2010

So are you saying for 2010 that the 1.8 tsi was only available in l&k and elegance and thats why there are so few of these cars in 2010 2011 has quiet a few elegances but mainly SE plus

For the UK people on this forum I just did a search on autotrader.co.uk and skoda.co.uk I searched for the 1.8 tsi engine there seems to be a load of them in 2011, 60 or so but only 1 of them in 2010 anyone know why there are so few Skoda Octavia's 1.8 tsi cars in the UK in 2010 ?

Yeah the L & K looks very rare alright so I think ill forget about that one Im trying to simply find the model that has > bluetooth > multi function steering wheel > electric windows all round > cruise control but from what I see. there seems to be a mix of these options in both the elegance and SE plus but none of them seem to have both or maybe ive just looked at the wrong cars

Hello all This is my first post on this forum. Im based in Dublin Ireland. Im looking at buying a 2010 Skoda Octavia 1.8 TSI petrol. Ireland does not get decent spec. cars so I will more than likey have to go to the UK for the above car ON looking at UK specs , there seems to be 2 top end models as follows : > Skoda Octavia Hatchback 5-Dr 1.8 TSI SE Plus > Skoda Octavia Hatchback 5-Dr 1.8 TSI Elegance So this question is probably geared towards the UK people reading this 1. Am I right in saying teh above 2 specs are the top specs in UK for this model ? 2. Which is the higher spec, the Elegance or the SE plus ??
