  1. Thanks Silver1011 So the L and K petrol cars you seen in the past were definitely cheaper than an equivelant elegance and SE plus model
  2. That's the one alright. L and K is supposedly the "top of the range" model and yet this L and K car is a lot cheaper than lower spec models of the same year/mileage. Oh I dunno, doesn't make sense
  3. Can a lot of things go wrong with the L and K models due to all the electrics, fancy gadgets etc I know electrics in modern cars are a pain and maybe they tend to act up more due to all the gadgets...........electric folding mirrors, seats, front parking sensors, heated seats etc etc
  4. But is this one too attractively priced ; )
  5. Like I suppose I should be glad of the price snd keep my mouth shut, but I'm just suspicious on the other hand as to why it's do low So what do yee think on the deal being offered.......is it too good to be true ?
  6. reason im asking is cause someone has offered me a 2010 Skoda Octavia 1.8 tsi L and K. Petrol. Manual with 13,000 miles on the clock for £9695 its not a private sale but a garage sale is this price too good to be true ?
  7. ok, but the car im asking about is a 1.8 tsi **PETROL** The one in your link is a diesel
  8. Hello, so lots of educated people on here What do you think would be a decent price for this car : 2010 Skoda Octavia 1.8 tsi L and K. Manual with 13,000 miles on the clock It's located in the UK so looking for a pound sterling value
  9. Excellent review Harryd. I'm exactly like you, I love the torque of the diesel and wonder if the 1.8 petrol will be disappointing as regards torque..........I haven't had a chance to test drive a 1.8 tsi properly yet. I'm in Ireland and they are few and far between Was your tdi the 140 or 170 BHP before it was mapped ?
  10. OP here. Yep, all I wanted was how many miles one gets out of a tank of petrol And then carnage ensued
  11. Thanks for that Patsy boy. Lots of cross overs so
  12. ok all im saying is the car on the right has a 2008 registration sorry, I obviously dont know my mk1's from my mk2's just thought when I seen the 2008 reg. that it must have been a mk2..................................hands up
  13. No, the car on the right has a 2008 registration im in Ireland so maybe the mk1/mk2 has different life cycles here
  14. Was out in a car park and there just happened to be 2 Octys parked next to each other pre facelift and facelift............big difference between them face lifted one looks well and modern pre facelifted looks VERY dated, looks like something from 1990's, IMHO
  15. I wouldnt be buying new fubar I'd be buying 2-3 years old so by that stage, a fair blast of depreciation should have gone already, well that's what I hope anyways ; ) And petrol here is roughly 10 cent dearer than diesel All of this tax situation may change in the next budget.........where the government are on about changing the pricing on the car tax system, so maybe diesel cars won't be as popular after the next budget
  16. Fubar, I must be driving yee all mad with all my anal questions ; ) I'm thinking about it alright, probably thinking too much No tight deadline, next 6 months or so
  17. Thats the kind of reply I want, thanks Mison : )))
  18. Eoin , thanks for reply I like stuff to be above board. I tired to get a quote for a re map here in Ireland on my current car and out of 14 insurance companies, only one would quote me. The others hadnt a clue what a re map was ( gob****es ) or the minute they heard the word re map was a no no The one that did quote me added 250 to the insurance and would only insure me based on the fact I got it ok'd by an official audi garage ( hardship ) and that was their last word on the matter. I should have also said in my opening post that I have no interest in re maps, Like economy isnt an overly massive thing for me, in sayin that is still like it to be half decent. So im just wondering on real time figures in the 1.8 tsi Just seems that 316 miles is not great for a full tank, if I got 400 - 450 miles out of a tank id be happy
  19. ok, I should have said in my opening post that I dont want this to turn in to a Petrol V Diesel thread ( there are plenty other threads on that ) Im just simply looking for how many real time miles that people get out of a full tank on a face lefted 1.8 tsi Octavia
  20. Richie, I think based on below, id be better off with a petrol My facts : I only do 8000 miles a year, all start stop driving ( dpf issues ) only do a long journey once a month
  21. pz1811, that dosent seem too good : ( 316 miles the best youve got from a full tank Or maybe im being over critical
  22. pz1811, that dosent seem too good : (
  23. no bother at all k.young : ) yeah, "they" will do anything to get more tax out of us. they have us bled dry at this stage
