  1. Angel doo a good map for the Vrs, also has our Merc done by them, no drama at all.
  2. Got pulled on my new ZX6-R in 2000' just starting to accelerate from a 30 limit into a national speed limit, cracked throttle a couple of metres too early & got pinged by plod hiding in a bush. Plod- I've been waiting for you all morning Me- sorry to keep you waiting, I got here as quick as I could Plod- aha...a comedian... . . At his precise moment a chap appears who turns out to be the owner of the field in which plod has blocked the entrance to... Landowner- move your poxy car, I've horses to see too... Plod- errr...... Me- offski!!!!!!!
  3. Jabbasport at Crowland are excellent, they know Tdi Fabias inside out.
  4. For me to agree a no strike policy I'd have to trust people like you to ensure I don't get shafted by the government. I guess we'll both stay disappointed.
  5. You two haven't looked very hard. I earn £14 an hour for the NHS, and £22 an hour working for 3 different private firms. My wife is a nurse, she earns £17 an hour with the NHS, and £28 an hour with an agency. The real issue is the wholesale destruction of public services, not my hourly rate, if it was all about the money there would be very few clinicians working for the public sector. Makes me wonder why so many of us have such loyalty to the NHS and the public we serve when so many of you want to see us crapped on and in the gutter.
  6. Internal vacancies are to find suitable alternative employment for those at risk of redundancy, what's wrong with that?
  7. Your thinking is flawless, sadly what will happen is those in high cost areas will remain on current pay freeze, eventually creeping up at below inflation rates, whilst those in cheaper areas will receive no raise for the prescribed timeframe. I
  8. Au contraire mon ami, we in the NHS have received news of George osbornes plan to abolish our pay scale (agenda for change). This is to allow employers to negotiate at a local level, to reflect ease of filling vacancies and local cost of living etc. make no mistake, this cunning stunt will be rolled out across the public sector.
  9. I agree with the concept to an extent. However, a nurse or paramedic etc etc gets paid for the skills, education and responsibility of the role, often graduating with £20k debt. So should the tuition rates be reduced too? I believe it's only happening to fund the 50p tax rate debacle, poor show. If you pay monkey money you'll get monkey attitude from people who feel they've been stiffed, this will fuel mass exodus from public to private sector, playing right into gov't hands to privatise & then abolish much of the public sector. Once it's gone there'll be no getting it back. I await with baited breath and an air of excitement to see the unfolding chaos as the red top rag reading masses realise how they've been played and had massive scale cutbacks to services that are often taken for granted. Just wait until a private ambulance arrives at your nearest and dearest and it transpires the crew have had a 4 day course to qualify, and no drugs will be forthcoming, you'll soon realise that you know more about medicine than they do. I'd love to tell you all that this is just scaremongering, but alarmingly it's happening right now, yes, really! I'm a paramedic, but also an anarchist, so perhaps someone less jaded would be more horrified. Me, I'll take some solace that so many people who don't realise what's happening, and have condemned the public sector, are going to get a very nasty reality check. Let's all pick a comfy spot to sit back and embrace the horror.
  10. There is no link between febrile convulsions and epilepsy. An <5 cant regulate there temp effectively, so a minor infection, viral or bacterial, can cause a pyrexia ( high temp). It's really common, terrifying for the parents but usually harmless. Always keep child hydrated during any illness, and always give calpol regularly, this should minimise any further reoccurrence. Any temp persisting for >3 days needs investigating. Dave Fast response paramedic
  11. Hi all I'm not a newbie, I'm paramaniac but cant log on for some reason?. Anyhoo, I am on the scrounge for advice. My 2005 Fabia Vrs front windows stopped working, briefly worked again then failed. They have been dead mfor 8 week, i was waiting to get them fixed. Tonight my dipped beam headlights failed, both sides,, warning on dash etc. Bulbs OK, fuses appear OK. Any clues? Could it be related? Convenience unit? If I let myself loose on it there'll be a big bang, a flash, much cussing and a trip to A&E.
