  1. The original fitment Diamond cut 18" as pictured below. 2 of them have had a dealer smart repair (before we got the car) on part of the diamond cut face, only noticeable up close and they are the ones on the drivers side as pictured below. These are fitted with the stock supplied Good Year Eagle F1 tyres all round having covered approx 9k miles (I will see if I can find paperwork to confirm what mileage we swapped out the wheels). I can get some individual wheel pics and tread depth pics if anyone is interested. I am looking for £650 for the set of 4 and pick up preferred, or may be able meet half way, depending on where you are, we are near Ely in Cambridgeshire. Please feel free to PM me any questions :)
  2. Yeah we have done short trips with him in the boot, but going on hols we would prefer him to be in the back seat as A: we have luggage and B: I am concerened about his comfort on longer journeys, especially in hotter weather as I doubt the AC will be much use back there ! Besides on the back seat he will have some company on the trip :) + if we get rear ended he isn't directly in harms way !
  3. Has anyone got any recommendations for a suitable cover to protect the rear seats with a 33KG Labrador ? I want isofix and seatbelt access as dog harness would be on isofix and also an adult in the rear. I have found a few universal ones on Amazon, closest being 1.32m wide (Scala's rear seat measures 1.3m wide), but if anyone knows of something that fits well or even any custom Scala fitted ones, please point me to them :)
  4. @Breezy_Pete PM sent Can not see a label in the boot (probably under the spare, which I didn't want to move ATM) ! Nothing attatched in the instruction book either.
  5. @OotohereIts a 1.5 TSi ACT, no idea if its GPF or not. I will have a look in the boot when the wife gets home and see if I can find that label. @Paws4ThotYes perfectly clear, just that I don't know how to determine if it has sensors.
  6. No idea about sensors, I have OBDeleven, can I use that to change it ?
  7. Hi all, I had come across this before on one of my other VAG cars, where the official dealer said they could not reset the service intervals to variable from fixed on it first service. I assumed it was them not wanting to as it is less business. However we had the Wifes Scala serviced (23 plate 10k miles) at a well regarded VAG independent, and I had requested that the service be changed to variable. They said they had tried but the car wouldn't accept it. Is this a common thing now, manufacturers blocking this change to make more in servicing ? or am I being fobbed off ?
  8. 16" Alaris fitted with 205/55/16 Michelin cross climate tyres. Certainly not as aesthetically pleasing as the stock 18"s with Good Year tyres, but they definitely help smooth the ride over our pockmarked and scarred roads ! Despite the quite blocky pattern, the tyres are at least as quiet as the GY Eagle F1's if not a bit better, (but is apples to oranges considering the sidewall dfifference and summer to AS). Despite them being fresh and not scrubbed in, still gave a good deal of confidence in the damp and felt very sure footed.
  9. Yep, just phoned the Garage to confirm, and that is the case 🙂 I now have a couple of weeks to apply a ceramic coating to the wheels 🤓
  10. Ok Tyres bought and booked for fitting. The tyre fitting Garage with best ratings nearby was a bit busy, so no fitting for a couple of weeks. But 4x Michelin Cross Climate 2 in 205/55/16 V rated fited + balanced ( I am not sure about valves, being new wheels. But if I have to pay extra I don't mind) ,comes to a not bad (IMO) £354.32 😁
  11. I was expecting a long wait, but I got a call today and have just collected them 7 days from ordering as a special order !
  12. Well finally I have ordered the wheels for the Scala ! We have plumped for Alaris 16" in black metallic (I think they would look nicer than silver on a Monte Carlo). Not a bad price, £667 for 4. It is just a case of how long I have to wait now, they are a special order as they are already on back order ! I was told 2-3 working weeks, so fingers crossed. Once they are here I'll get the tyres ordered.
  13. picked up my new to me ride on Friday, today I had a clean and wax session with Fusso 99;
  14. Having had both, I would happily have another Superb, not so the Kodicr** as we named it !
  15. Ok bit of an odd title I know, please indulge me .... So my Cupra was bought on PCP, thanks to the EV price crash, its is in negative equity, but that's not really the point of this post. My normal MO with the last few PCP's is to settle them and trade the car in against whatever I fancy next, which is what the finance company is gearing the PCP model on. But due to the negative equity, and because I now fancy a change having dabbled with EV's, I want to move on. I have four payments left so first port of call, phone VWFS and ask "can I pay my four payments up front now and return the car to you please?" I am thinking this wont be an issue because I am honoring my payments, and they get the car back with 3-4 months less deprecation. Nope ... cant do that, you will have to either settle up and sell the car, trade it in (and pay the shortfall), pay an amount to take you to 50% of the total loan amount, or let it run its course. OK that is technically the terms and conditions so I cant argue about that. But I thought my suggestion would have been beneficial to them too. Being as I felt they were a bit inflexible and were certainly abrupt to the point of rudeness, I looked to see peoples experiences on trust pilot. Now I am even more concerned, there are multiple accounts of people having lease or PCP deals where the use an unreliable third party to collect the cars, and abuse the definition of normal wear and tear to extract more money from customers. Several mentioned is like they don't want to take the car back. So I ask, Has anyone had experience with a straight in contract handback from either PCP or lease, and how was it ? Personally, from my recent experience, would now advise anyone against using them unless they are 100% sure they will be settling the vehicle at the end, or trading it in for their next vehicle. Even then, I would see if there is a reputable third party lender you could use. Personally, I will wash my hands of them once mine is settled, and will not be a VWFS customer ever again.
  16. Yep plus vat and adding £16 for courier "handling fees" they would come in at around £750 from Skoda Eshop CZ, depending on exchange rates. But it looks like you have to pick them up from CZ ... no delivery option. Caffyns come in at £814 (inc £75.75 delivery). Some MSW (OZ ? so presume are good quality) wheels come in at £650 at a couple of UK sellers (free delivery), or much less at Demon Tweaks - £513 delivered. All of these would require tyres bought separately, the one place I could get a package with the tyres I want doesn't list the Scala in is fitment selection.
  17. Still awaiting a reply from Hortons, but obviously they will be closed until Tuesday now. I may phone the dealers nearby up if no reply on Tuesday. I am planning to put some all season tyres on the 16's.
  18. I stuck the trusty Viofo 119 on the passenger side near the mirror with the pad half on the black shaded dots, the old one from mrs old car was too bulky and interfered with the sun visor going all the way forward, as my current car has a bespoke fitment camera, I put my old viofo to use. I ran the cable along the front of roof lining, down the passenger pillar rubber (keeping clear of the airbag) under the glove box and managed to slip it through into the centre console to plug in the USB C with an adaptor socket, took me about 3 minutes !
  19. Not a fan of steel wheels and wheel trims myself (for aesthetic reasons) But I am making enquiries on a set of black Alaris 16's, will see how that goes.
  20. Well I had aches and pains before I began .... a 6 hour session and I am still suffering, age doesn't come alone ! But when it rained last night, I got the beading I was hoping to see 😊 With Flash: Without Flash:
  21. 11 days after picking up the wifes '23 plate ex demo Scala Monte-Carlo, I finally got round to a proper wash and wax (doubt its had that in its near year of dealer scratch and polish 😜) A bit of Iron-X, rinse, Bilberry wheel cleaner, Bilt Hamber snow-foam and 40% traffic film cleanser mix, 2BM wash with Bilt hamber shampoo, pressure wash rinse, towel pat dry with Monster XL towels, Rain-X front and rear windows, Fusso99 wax including pan roof glass and side windows, wheels treated with Bilt hamber doublespeed wax followed by Sonax BSD, Top Kote tyre dressing, and finally the gloss black door pillars coated with Autoglym SRP ('cos it helps hide the swirls and on a daily use car I CBA to buff them out 😛). The car is moon white metallic, not that you would know unless the sun is shining bright to pick up the subtle metallic-ness ! Hopefully some epic beading to come when it rains ! I thought the reflections weren't too bad seeing as it is overcast here. .
  22. I couldn't find any UK seller listing the OEM ones new so I don't know what they would cost here., Buying from overseas with wheels is now expensive due to the VAT and import duties 🤨 But great to have clarification on clearance etc, thank you
  23. I would like to downsize the wheels on our Scala Monte Carlo to be more compliant on our poor local roads. my queries are: 1> Can anyone confirm the Monte Carlo is exactly the same mechanically as the SE model (brakes, disk sizes etc) so I can fit 16" wheels with no problem ? 2> I expected I would find new Skoda wheels for sale in the UK no problem, but it seems they are not as widely available as I thought, or my search ability is failing me ! Does anyone know if and where I can purchase genuine Skoda wheels for the Scala ? If not I will maybe look at aftermarket, but would prefer to use some genuine VAG parts if I could find them. If I am correct (?) they need to be 6.5 or 7J with 57.1 CB 100x5 bolt pattern and an ET close to 39, and fitted with 205/55/16 tyres ? I am not adverse to buying some used ones, but finding something that doesn't need refurbing (it seems a lot of people treat their wheels as feelers for where the kerb is 😄) or come with unsuitable sized or type tyres. so often aren't much cheaper than buying new.
  24. We picked up the Scala a week ago, a 1.5TSi Manual Monte Carlo. We are pleased with the car so far, Being an early '23 model it has no Kessy, and although quite sparse in terms of bells and whistles (given I have had the benefit of a lot of the vag bells and whistle on my last few cars), it has most of what we wanted. Although the ride is decent for most of the time, I do intend to downsize the wheels to some 16" when I can, to be more compliant on the crumbling and pothole strewn roads locally ! This was something I had considered before purchase, and felt it worth it as we intend to keep the car for some time, But that's another topic to post 😊
