Also dealer or independent?

We have used Faintree garage for years but i feel there servicing costs are just so expensive. have you tried the place in Oswestry?

Hi There,
Does anyone else have problems with the search section on the Jabba sport website? everytime i use it i search my octavia estate but it keeps resetting the search fields to default every time i search?

Hey guys,
need two bits of advice really. just bought a bargain felicia but needs a bit of TLC to bring it upto scratch.
Firstly,
There is some slight rust on the wheel arches. I remember my dad having a set of rubber protectors which went on every arch to hide / protect against rust. I beleive they glued on and were about 2 inches high off the arch.
any idea where i can get these or anyone got a set they wish to sell?
secondly,
At some point a previous owner as had the engine over heat and although the engine is fine there are large patches on the bonnet where the lacquer as come off.
whats the best cheap thing to do with this?
find an item which will strip the rest of the lacquer off and T Cut the bonnet up?
or
Buy some aerosol lacquer from Halfords, clean off the lose lacquer and spray this on and hope the best (i know it wont be perfect)
all thoughts welcommed

not sure on the name its something to do with the wiring between the ECU and the Coil,
mine would start and run for a few seconds then cut out and sometimes would not start at all. If you left it for long periods it would start and run fine then soon as you stop it would cut out and not start
-
had problem with my Favorit,
Check the sensor which tells the Ecu hoe to start the engine, On the Favorit it is located just in front of the Dip stick
-
You lot are quite harsh, I use my local " Fast Fit " place and it is brilliant. On about my 6th set of tires with them and never had a problem
-
clearly says on Autocar that prices are likely to be £15,000 -----> £23,000
-
it all depends how you drive them to be hinest and all cars are different. If i drove my old Fabia Sdi at around 50 on a long run i coould get 70 mpg
-
yeah but for some reason my dads was very fast, would do 115mph
-
craig easy to decide.
If you want to sit at 40 - 50 mph on your own in a car to commute then a Sdi is ideal. you will easily get 60 mpg
If you want to do 60mph, pull up and over take slower moving taffic than a Tdi is needed. still get 55 mpg as well

Hey Craig
Ok i am basing what i say on the ones my dad had,
Felicia 1.9 sdi
very slow and he found that mpg was not that good as it should have been for a diesel.
Felicia 1.6
A real fox in sheeps clothing. Very quick for what it is with a nice amount of torque. Dad had three and they all did 0 -60 in around 10 seconds.
downside was the fuel, looking at only 30 - 35 mpg
-
well guys, i normally use Kwik fit, we have used the same for years and they always do a good job.
Probably goin to have some Pirelli p3000E . Two tyres, fitted , balanced and disposed for £93.00
-
Need to replace my two front tyres on my Favorit.
got £100 to spend,
what tyre brands do you suggest?
Need good grip mixed with a balance of lasting a good time

My dad get hooked in two ways,
1) he had an old Fiat Uno which the fiat garage could never get right. one day he was going up a dual carriadge way and a Favorit over took him.
2) Many years ago TOP GEAR did an episode where they covered up the badge on a Octavia so people did not know it was a Skoda. there were two other cars there and they got a focus group to pick the best one. and they picked the Octavia.
now 20 years years on our family as had:-
5 x Favorits
5 X Felicias
3 X Fabias
2 X Vrs Fabias
-
just to warn you,
I have heard so many bad stories regarding by-passing immobilisers,
good luck i say

Hey guys,
My dad as a problem with is Fabia ambiant 1.2 (2006 model)
When ever there is a frost and we clear the outside of the car, inside there is always a mass amount of water on the inside screen and all the over windows in the car.
The water is in large droplets and no heating or air con will clear it.
any one ever had this ??
-
Just to let you know that tomorow (23rd November) autocar are reviewing the Fabia Estate.
-
the car looks gorgeous
the proper fabia mk 2 is horrible,
skoda are really goin off the rails to be honest. They are not what they were
-
Tomo, I have heard from ym dealer that the fuel economy aint too good on the 170 Vrs
-
...Im having a stainless 4-1 manifold made up soon so should make things breathe even better, well, low down torque will suffer but she will open up nicely I expect after 4000 revs.
At a cost of £250 though, its going to have to wait until early december.
Im not happy with the current state of the car which is why I havent posted any pics, will do soon though.
What model Fav have you got Daz?
its a L reg Lxi with one of them stupid compiters in. I would have prefered a carbrettor but i could not pass up the chance of a 10,300 miles on the clock favorit
Octavia "Annoying" Rattle / Vibration ---> Driving me Mad :::(((
in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
Posted
Hi Guys,
I have a 1.9 Tdi 105bhp Octavia estate. At low revs on slightly rougher roads i can hear a very very annoying rattle / vibration.
coming from the front of the car, either in the dash or engine. I presume it happening a higher revs but i can not hear it then.
The rattle sounds like a very thin piece of aliminium or plastic vibrating.
I have taken everything out the car thinking it was internal but no luck, emptied all compartments including the glove box.
some details on the car:-
No mods
I dont tinker or play with he car
coming up to 50k miles
car is a 2009 (09) plate
Only solution at present is turning the stereo up but its worrying me
Thanks in advance for any help guys
